The first flourish I created was KFC, which came to me after experimenting with different types of grips & transitions possible with a deck of cards. Like I said, it'll take a few months, but those months have to be hard-spent trying to think outside of the box, looking for new methods & approaches that haven't been done before.

A good starting point is to master the basics of flourishing - that way, you'll have enough knowledge and expertise to be able to mix and match to come up with new combos or creations of your own. It's not easy at first, but give it a few months and eventually you'll get the hang of it.

This was edited in Sony Vegas 7, and as for effects I applied a desaturation filter that took all the colors except for red.

Thanks! I used Sony Vegas 7 to edit this video back then, though now I use Final Cut Pro since I'm on a Mac.

As for the song used, it's "rash me" by Grace Valhalla, off of her album "wire". The album's available for free under Creative Commons online, so if you go to a site such as Jamendo you'll be able to get it there.
