This is truly amazing! I don't think people realize that this will completely change our world. This to me is even more revolutionary than the internet. Going from New York to Los Angeles in 45 minutes is amazing. This whole system IS the future, but people have to make it happen and not just leave it on a shelf. This can completely rearrange the way we live. I can live in L.A. and commute daily to N.Y. That is freaking insane!

I personally think that people in general would be sacred to go 4,00 miles per hour. Terrorism is also a problem. Blow a tube up and the you have capsules being spit out at 4,000 miles per hour onto land. Also, building a bridge from Alaska to Russia is almost impossible due the the Ice sheets underneath. One day, if we can eliminate terrorism and build this bridge, this could be a good idea. I think for now, we should just make green airplanes. Put solar panels on the roofs They go above clouds
@MrSkittleBiscuit terrorism is a problem with all our ways of transport, planes, cars trains, ect, does that mean we should stop flying and driving and traveling, no. im all for this idea, and would feel alot safer traveling this way than on a plane and a car. im all for stopping the fact that we depend on oil. as far as the ice sheet, i have no clue to a solution for that, lol but i think even if they just use this to get around the country would be great , gosh i wished we lived longer
@babygirl91580 They said that they could have them up within 30 years, so if it goes through, we'll be able to ride them. But anyway, I see point about the terrorism, but 4000mph just scares the shit out of me lol i dont care how safe it is
@MrSkittleBiscuit well i hate flying so i would be all for this idea, i cant stand flying and have a fear of being that far from the ground, with a fear of flying and im in the usa, places like japan, china france, are impossible for me to get too, so this would be perfect for people like me :) , but i wonder, people would probly still have to fly to places like hawaii
@babygirl91580 Yeah, Planes won't become extinct, but they wont be the main form of transport anymore. I personally feel much more safe in an airplane because if the engine stops, the plane can glide down. If a pipe bend on this. Boom.Dead. lol hate to be grusome but yeah tht why im scared cuz of thatspeed
@MrSkittleBiscuit or maybe they will come up with ideas on having like multiple tubes that go different speeds, that would be cool. i just really hate flying but i really feel america has dropped the ball, they have trains in japan that go over 200 mph, i think their names is Maglev train, but they are supper fast and the US should have been started this and using the technology, instead of depending on oil. SMH
@babygirl91580 America is retarted. But nowadays, anny country that I would want to live in the retarted too. just watch, china is gonna make this first cuz america is too obsessed with the the Obama AdSHITistration.
Got a naive question since I'm not a scientist. Is there a way to reduce the original mass of an object, so the force is reduced when accelerating? I think I can just remember that mass is associated with an higgs-field, but I'm not sure about that. Thanks Alien!
godamn thank you. you don't need to believe in alarmist global warming in order to be against fossil fuel. fossil fuel is obvious shitty and the motive to replace it does NOT need to be fear of alarmist collapse, so much as the obvious desire to move beyond limited capacities.
et3 is a good example of futurist desires for progress having nothing to do with alarmism but just obvious desire for progress.
Nice Video. Princeton Physicist Gerard K. O'Neill wrote eloquently about this concept in his excellent book 2081...in 1981. O'Neill's Space Studies Institute built magnetic lunar launchers called Mass Drivers and improved their acceleration from 33g's to more than 1,800 g's....obviously much more than would be needed for this technology..which O'Neill called "floater" technology. The only real drawback to these systems is the very large capital cost of construction.
How do you go about maintaining the capsules, track and inner pipes if its under vacuum? If theres only the one pipe as depicted in the video maintenance would shut the whole system down every time it required it.
This will not replace cars...with a car you can go where you want...to the door. In this you will only be able to go to where it passes...so we will still require other forms of transport...i think most would just stick t their cars.
I can see a few problems with this system....major problems.
What happens if a car/tube gets stuck? You cant exit it as theres no air to breathe...and surely you would run out of oxygen in the capsule/car pretty fast if there was no power?
Im sure you have heard of Murpheys Law? I can only assume it hasnt been taken into account in regard to this.
@awsomedude335 ET3 is just like a car on the freeway -- just exit at the next access portal (like when in a car). Some people who cannot time their events enough in advance to be able to sit through a good movie can buy a supply of depend diapers.
I wonder why the US doesn't try this form of transportation, not as a pemanent solution to cars, but this coul greatly decrease our dependence on the middle east for fussel fuel, especial now that there isn''t as much left. I guess waging wars and increasing our military power and weapons is most important.
How would you know this? have you seen these other levels for your self.
If its global transportation than only the very very rich or astronauts get to space travel. Just like doctors who are literally PRACTICING medicine (MD) on humans, scientists are doing the same, chasing tails. What i understand as an american..only the SECRET SOCIETIES have answers but will not share with common folk. We get conspiracies... No Thanks I will pass....
@mmw818s All humans handle 1g their whole lives. The maximum extra load for ET3 is 1.41g, or the equivalent of a 40lb kid sitting on a 100lb grannies lap. The longest time will be about 3 min. An extremely small percentage of the population is too frail for this -- they can stay at home like they do now -- (because a car hitting a pot hole exposes occupants to sudden accelerations of 3g).
@chuck981996 We do love AU -- but there are less than 25m people and hundreds of miles of water to cross -- so AU will not likely get the first routes. All countries can build ET3 networks. If a country (like AU) chooses to build their local ET3 networks to the recommended international ET3 standard, then then can eventually tie into the global system when it makes economic sense to cross all that water (crossing oceans is more than ten times the cost of land based ET3).
DFW airport uses magnetic trams & solar energy. It was suppose to be the beginning of more modern less carbon fuel use. We either need engineers/scientist running companies again instead of "financial investors", or we need a new system that doesn't hold us back so they can make uber profits.
The understanding of this type of technologies has been around for a long time but the powerful corporate establishment have managed, so far, to stop them so our global dependency on the oil industry remains untouched. Let's hope the internet will help humanity to change this status quo in which the big corporations have kept us for far too long.
Go to his site, read all the things there. He looks for idea's to help humanity thats all. He looks into things, gives links to sites for information, history, news articles etc. Then justs asks people to get involved in there own future. You could read that or perhaps present your own ideas. Offer links to support your ideas and ask people to think for themselves. Personally I have a huge amount of respect for alienscientist, like i said, he cares. If only more people cared and got involved.
If you took the time to read what Alienscientist said in his text, "I think its important to show your support for the movements out there, but don't tie yourself down to any one thing. Be YOUR OWN movement, Do YOUR OWN research, and don't just rely on what anyone (including me) says." You would realize he is only offering idea's and asking people to look into them, then think for themselves and get involved. He is not asking for donations so stop it. Give the man a break, he cares.
you can't use it to launch anything and you lie to claim it can capture anything.... it is all lies made to steal donations only... make up a big lie and talk about it a lot!
anyone have the list of 3000 good reasons this shit is not valid? i used to have it and the first 100 proved this guy is lying big time and cost be more not less... you know how much iot cost to build the track and tube AND keep it air tight for 1000's of miles as near impossible?
one leak all die... one tremor one car crash one broken window...anything can make this thing kill thousands and ruin lands and make the whole thing a waste effort in the first place! Ity is all way too expensive
a vaccume tube system means only that it is far more lickly to kill lots of people when it fails (power failiure, terrorism air leak) .all die instantly it is a extremely expensive and pointless thing... we need to transport LESS not more as we solve transportation no need to go fast or far...it is a red herring scam for donations and is basically a made up lie!
The net has ZERO to do with type 0 or type 1...type 1 does not need any humans involved and Earth is a type 0 PLANET as GARDEN DNA STORAGE for all type 1 after us... it is a OFF LIMITS planet!
they that push type 1 are traitors knowing the planet can be harmed or killed as a type 1 here...they are traitors!
type 0 means to control the planet ONLY and has NOTHING to do with fossil feuls at all... a clean planet type 0 is what we all want here on earth and type 1 (able to destroy a planet with devices used as common tools) is not for this planet... only a traitor to life would want a type 1 civilization here on Earth! The scales are lies and wrong as well..nice way to start lying to scam donations!
correct me if i'm wrong, but don't the plates that our continents sit on, move in opposite directions, yes perhaps very slowly and gradually, but long term effects would this not become a major issue?
YES major problems all over the place... waves current sabotage human error.... it is a accident waiting to be built!
it is not even practical as we make travel less needed via computers and long distance abilities to NOT travel... they think go have a coffee in france and come back.... what kind of morons are they? The kind that steal the donations that is!
we need to check in to see if they steal donations like TVP has been exposed doing!
lies about getting a Nobel like prize for connecting people.... only to pass sickness and destroy a city in a malfunction! the tech is so weak in ability to be safe and cheap it is a scam to steal donations... and friends of TVP have to be crooks as TVP been exposed as 419 fraud as this one is looking more and more like too. WOW they have to be insane to think we spend 10 times more to get far less and trip-le the danger and weaken our safety a lot...this is a joke right? they can't be seriious
@rachyj20 I don't think so. Tectonic plates move slowly, it would take millions of years most likely for any major shift to have occurred. And there are also automated systems built into it that can detect if a tube breaks and shuts down the tracks until it gets fixed.
Now this is the kind of Project where the stimules funds should have gone, we could build 1,000,000 miles of this around the globe within 10 years, this would revolutionise transport and help massivily towards reducing carbon emissions, would also increase the productivity of Labour, create jobs, and boost scientific innovation in other areas.
Only if you assume they are still within an inertial frame of reference. Also, you did not mention both Normal and Tangential accelerations when moving in a non-linear motion. I should have said that "classical" F=ma does not hold.
if the outside material wasnt air, or wasnt breathable, what if there was a leak how will people breath? it wuld be gud to make the tube air breathable if possible. is the train electric also, what makes the train go and stop? how will it slow down, how could it accidently not be able to break, precautions, ...
make it so people can walk around in it, and lay down in a normal bed with enough room, includeing a bathroom, food, and water. how does the evacuates/vacume system work, what type of material will you put in the tube if it isnt air? how will you keep oxygen in the train, and will or wont breathable air be outside of the train. what possible accedents or emergency exits would be available. how could the train possibly stop in the middle of the track...
There is another issue with this. It says an 80-lane highway in one tube. Not really, because on a highway, individual people or groups of people can disembark from the highway and drive to the specific destination with all their cargo and belongings in their vehicle. A tube system hauling ass like this would be destination to destination, and then you've still got to hoof it or take a bus or some other system to your ultimate destination. So not like a highway, more like an airplane flight.
Let's take a look at the safety concerns of a evacuated tube system. To me there is a real potential for some big time disasters. I would hope that if trains use this method that we develop some kind of crash webbing systems that would protect occupants in a crash or sabotage that would rupture the tunnel.
man im so hung up, i had the idea of ET3 to missiles in space when i was playing with super conductors in electronics an age ago, people called me crazzy (my teacher) wow i hear some guy has a patents on it wtf you cant have my idea.
@JP05CPSN, That's what I said.... I thought up the same idea on my own one day and started doing online searches for it, which was when I found ET3. That was back in 2002...
@JP05CPSN I had tought about how species evolved acording to Darwins theory even before I had heard about it, I used my creativity and when I learned about Darwin I was appalled on how it matched and learned how I wasnt so insignificant as I thought I could be.
Without the limitation of Money=Debt, beneficial projects like ETT will simply be a matter of resources and method of construction. Once we evolve out of our monetary run quagmire of a system, we will see unbound human potential. Imagine scientific study of diseases and cancer without the limitation of funding! We could solve these problems in no time.
@AwakenFromTheSlumber I'm fine with fission personally, there's no real benefit in my lifetime from having fusion. There's enough fissile material for a thousand years or more.
I can just see some asshat blowing the tube up just before the train comes through at 1000Mph. Of course that wouldn't be as bad of a mess as all the deaths on roadways every year. We definitely need this technology like 10 years ago.
Aw man I would love that.... I live in Germany, far away from family and riding on that flying sardine can is not a very enjoyable experience especially since I have to get molested in order to get aboard now...
The truth if really sad, if there is one thing that can make things go back in time, or make it go slower than it should is the economic interest of the nations all around of this little piece of dust that we live... really sad thing it is.
humam kind could be much more developed if not for that, we could be living in a world that none of us can think of.

@Qdot543, You can create Earthquake proof buffer zones. We have earthquake-proof highways all along the San Andreas Fault in California. All the engineering technologies exist to deal with any and all problems including undersea tubes, etc. The Sea bridge across the Bering Straight would be the most difficult, but still entirely doable. I've seen the plans for it.
You are referring to the "Kardashev Scale" but you confuse the definition of what a Type 1, 2, and 3 really are. Kardashev scale points do not have anything to say about type of transportation or ways of living, they merely reflect the power available to a civilisation - nothing more.
Kaku is really reaching if he is trying to define types in any more detail.
Our transition to Type 1 status will follow our deployment of Fusion power systems around the globe.
@AlienScientist Don't think that you can create an "earthquake-proof" highway. An earthquake would take down any roadway, should the ground underneath the roadway be submerged enough. No way to keep a roadway elevated, if there is no ground to support it. . Unless, of course, you're talking about anti-gravity roadways, but I don't know any of those are currently in existence, lol Google "Kobe earthquake" and you can see the outcome of Japan's supposed "earthquake proof" roadways.
this is all good ides but How can we actually achieved this if Companys dont want to stop using Fossil Fules becuase its no business for them to make if only we can get rid of the main head of the companies and currupt them for good end all this nonsense of people going poor and hunger and people not getting cared in hospitals becuase of deb. It makes people aggresive eager emotional i am tierd of seeing my mom go to her only job and it is many miles away and coming back it makes me mad
ETT would be an engineering nightmare....i dont think you realize how much power it would take to keep the tubes at vacuum. for example, in my lab it takes a day to bring our 14 square meter chamber to vacuum, and we have to keep it that way using a turbo pump. Also what happens if there are any structural failures (and there will be)? this is not a very safe or cost effective alternative to transportation, especially compared to flight.
@detibry Unlike your lab, ET3 is VERY safe and cost effective! The video shows that the capsule displaces more than 99% of the 6.57cubic meter airlock volume, leaving less than 0.0065m^3 to evacuate per capsule. Maglev turbo pumps have extremely low power requirements when running with no air load. ET3 design has less than 1/1000th the leakage of SwissMetro (SwissMetro did physical tests that proved low pumping energy to evacuate 5m diameter tunnels made of concrete with 1mm wide cracks).
I found your channel just today and have been enjoying the knowledge you're spreading. Though exciting, I've also pondered how systems like this would only encourage further exploitation. Slap a huge price tag on tickets to go anywhere in the world in moments, milk the Earth of more raw materials more quickly, etc... I suppose I am too much of a pessimist to think humanity can use something for good rather than exploitation, or rather the folks in charge.
This is obviously the way to go, but as many pointed out. What about security?, and how can people use this to do evil.
Well i guess our security systems may also need to improve in order to implement a system like this. But very interesting video...i have no doubts that in the near future we will have this kind of transportation.
theres only one problem with this. connecting the world with these would make it every easy to kill lots of people. blowing part of this tube up would kill thousands of people
that's true but i mean, if terrorists really wanted to, they could blow up our highways and rail systems. it's all moral, mental "no-no" that hold people back from pushing that nuclear warhead button.
@14letsgo That in itself would be very difficult to carry out. Since the tube is a vacuum, the explosion has no medium to carry it. There would be no shockwave, no fire, the exlosion would only cause real damage the the outer layer of the tube if it was above ground.
cool stuff aliens. 489000 mph speed of sun around the galactic center. what would be the exit speed at the end of a space ramp? (ceramic vaporization temperatures?)
Limited resources/engineering probable reason for no mass vacuum transit. (chunnel time/expense as an example,we don't breathe vacuum). what effect does drawing energy from the wind have on the environment? solar power...sterling closest thing to feasible I've seen(still expensive)
One key point to this that i routinely bitch about is the fact that we could have either had this technology, or something similar by now if it wasnt for greed. Mass transport has been VERY slow at evolving and is still EXTREMELY expensive for the average person.
you also have to take into account how this could be abused. say political assassins can safely snipe a president hop onto a ETT and safely be halfway around the world in a matter of minutes
Interesting technology, but it wouldn't work because Earth is constantly on the move due to the pressure of the oceans on the earth's crust. History proves to us that with our ultimately corrupt governments, Humans are bound to be slaves of the corruption rather than free from it.
@MyProvider777 Wouldn't it take literally tens of thousands of years for the Earth's crust to change significantly enough for it to affect the ETT's networking?
Freedom to speak on the internet will soon be gone, by order of the multinational corporate dictatorship. I'd like to take this time to say goodbye to AlienScientist, and to all of those innocent people in Iran who will soon be invaded and murdered. I'm sure that your corporate masters will try to minimize the loss of your loved-ones lives, in an attempt to win your hearts and minds. I hope that the idea of a "benevolent" war will be of some consolation to your dead family members (or you).

Amazing! ET3 looks like the doorstep to a whole new frontier of non-fossil fuel reliant transportation methods. But pardon the apparent ignorance on my part, there was one concern I had regarding the evacuation of air within the tubes. How will the oxygen supply be handled within the trains themselves for passengers during their transit?
@hkpopfan4lif3 The problem isnt government but us citizens. Its very clear that if we want this WERE going to have to make it. We dont want it bad enough yet apparently.
The romanian scientist Henri Coanda was the original inventor of this technology. He invented, created and tested this technology but after he died everything got stolen and covered up. Nobody knows this because of fucking elites controling everything. Just like nobody knows about Tesla and his contributions.
That's cool. Why not just build one somewhere? Cover some relatively short basic route to transport some eggs, bottles, mail or something. Afterwards human? The biggest problem always seems to be, how approach these things. It takes work, money and time. In the monetary system, it needs to be profitable.
@scavenski money.... ( i guess ) the ones that got money are in control.... Do you want to take it down a notch ( if you was one of 'them' ) ??? No... They.. want to make money.. so the hell they aint going to invest it in... this... OR "other people" dont want this to happen.. reasons... ? : perhaps power... or... Not wanting that every person on this world is safe.. smart. whealthy i dunno... What i do know is that shits fudged up.. :( Hooray for AS ^^ )
@vetmooiman why would anyone want so much money? they already have so much that they can buy some small countries... they can do anything they want and when they die their grandchildren still can do anything they want.. they're just fucked up egoists
Wow, loved your ideas and presentation. I thought it very specific and clear so thankyou. It is a real tragedy that oil companies have such a "ball holding" grasp on our governments incentives to persue alternate transportation and alternate energy sources etc. I look foreward to viewing your other videos.......
On behalf of everyone who visits your channel and appreciates what you do, I wanted to say thank you!! i wasn't sure ANYONE was left out there who actually cared about humanity. Thanks again A.S.!!!!
Yes, this is a good idea, but what about all those people out of jobs? I mean the airline pilots, airport workers, road workers and what about the car industry, it would be gone, all those people out of jobs and unemployed.
lol i said this on another vid. we will never be able to fully stop using fossil fuels. just think about the redneck that has a muscle car. lets say its a 69' camero. mr redneck has spent alot of his time and savings in this gas powered car. you think he will just spend more money into it just so it will be more environmental friendly? or change his car so it is electric or runs on ethanol?
First off, we need to be civilized and have a 100% private property. With the governments having monopoly on infrastructure, we won't have this in a million years. I mean many railway systems are from the past century!
holy shikalakaboom! Get back on it, man! And clean up the ending to this video, it just drops off the edge of the table onto the floor! Love it tho, and you!
Wont happen, not because it cant but bc the powers that be wont let it. The mroe people get out and travel, the more they see themselves out there....its not very easy to get your braindead population to support war on people and places theyve actually met and been to. No, travel is indeed the enemy of the agenda, and it will only ever get more expensive and cumbersome. Stay home, and keep the us vs them mentality...its easy to do when all you know about "them" is what your tv tells you....
Sounds like an awesome new paradigm for transportation which probably won't come to fruition―not in my lifetime, at any rate. I wish people would shake off their hesitancy and commit to these type of advancements; it's frustrating knowing we could do so much now, but instead doing, we just talk about them.
great idea, but as it is, travelling even at 1000km/h is considered unsafe in a small capsule that changes direction rapidly. the smallest hitch could disturb this system drastically if it travels much faster. earthquakes are already a major problem for undersea fibre cables - imagine what a problem they'd be for a system that has to transport humans... it would have to have some pretty robust shock tolerance not to mention dynamic adjustment to handle changing forces/weight inside the capsule
@cyberdems but then we have the risks with modern day transportation too don’t forget. And by the time this is actually implicated we would probably have computer systems to prevent these sorts of things. Of course, at first there would be problems like this (not to common with the monitoring systems probably) that’s true with the majority of new technology. But the risks at first would most likely be the same or lower then modern transportation methods.
GREAT CAN WE GET RID OF POLITICIANS AND JUST VOTE ONLINE SO WE CAN ACTUALLY GET SHIT DONE BESIDES ARGUING AND WORRYING ABOUT WHO'S FUCKING THERE WIFE AND STEALING TAXPAYERS MONEY. GET RID OF THE ELECTORAL SYSTEM AND JUST VOTE BY MACHINE WERE DOING IT NOW ANYWAYS AND TRUSTING THERE COUNTING THE VOTES. IF YOU NEED A PERSON IN OFFICE PUT IN A DISABLE VET TO MAKE SURE NO ONE IS CHEATING. I'D LIKE ALL OF THIS TO HAPPEN IN MY LIFE TIME
I love the idea. However, I'm uncertain about moving billions of people long distances around the planet on a daily basis. Clearly the network capacity would be limited and trains would contend for physical routes, much as Ethernet NICs contend for electronic routes. That's fine, as long as I'm not crammed into a train like a sardine like I remember on the morning bus ride back in college. First come first serve. If it's full wait your turn or change your plans, but people never seem to do that.
Awesome, yet surprising low-tech, is the DDWFTTW principe (quick google). It introduces a wheels-to-propellor-to-wheels feedback loop that allows a relatively simple vehicle (in its first generation) to clock near 3x the wind speed, while going downwind. All over Youtube also. BUFC, BlackBird are keywords. I envision rail road systems with rail cars locked to the rails, with fold-away props and air foils to suit wind direction. Throw in some batteries, and you have FREE energy transport.
this is a very awesome idea, but one problem is that there are a lot of people love cars, the biggest reason i don't like busses and trains is because i can't go when and where i want to, i have to go when and where the trains want me to, i have no control. i really can see this being a world changing idea, even if it was used not for people but just shipping, so you could order something from the internet and it would arrive at your door within the hour,
So interesting, great ideas, I've shared it around. But can you explain how it would benefit the economy? The amount of jobs and institutions this sort of technology would do away with would damage employment wouldn't it? The internet has increased employment and opened new media opportunities for people around the world. Where as this type 1 technology would condense the population resulting in a struggle to find jobs.
i love the concept of these tubes.. and if they were to replace all transportation wouldn't just getting on one be the new "traffic jam" surely there must be a form of security it they will be international.. do u know if they will run like trains to specific destinations or are they like cars on a highway where you want to go
This is truly amazing!

@MrSkittleBiscuit terrorism is a problem with all our ways of transport, planes, cars trains, ect, does that mean we should stop flying and driving and traveling, no. im all for this idea, and would feel alot safer traveling this way than on a plane and a car. im all for stopping the fact that we depend on oil. as far as the ice sheet, i have no clue to a solution for that, lol but i think even if they just use this to get around the country would be great , gosh i wished we lived longer
babygirl91580 4 months ago
@babygirl91580 They said that they could have them up within 30 years, so if it goes through, we'll be able to ride them. But anyway, I see point about the terrorism, but 4000mph just scares the shit out of me lol i dont care how safe it is
MrSkittleBiscuit 4 months ago
@MrSkittleBiscuit well i hate flying so i would be all for this idea, i cant stand flying and have a fear of being that far from the ground, with a fear of flying and im in the usa, places like japan, china france, are impossible for me to get too, so this would be perfect for people like me :) , but i wonder, people would probly still have to fly to places like hawaii
babygirl91580 4 months ago
@babygirl91580 Yeah, Planes won't become extinct, but they wont be the main form of transport anymore. I personally feel much more safe in an airplane because if the engine stops, the plane can glide down. If a pipe bend on this. Boom.Dead. lol hate to be grusome but yeah tht why im scared cuz of thatspeed
MrSkittleBiscuit 4 months ago
@MrSkittleBiscuit or maybe they will come up with ideas on having like multiple tubes that go different speeds, that would be cool. i just really hate flying but i really feel america has dropped the ball, they have trains in japan that go over 200 mph, i think their names is Maglev train, but they are supper fast and the US should have been started this and using the technology, instead of depending on oil.

In this you will only be able to go to where it passes...so we will still require other forms of transport...i think most would just stick t their cars.
lovinit19791 8 months ago
I can see a few problems with this system....major problems.
What happens if a car/tube gets stuck? You cant exit it as theres no air to breathe...and surely you would run out of oxygen in the capsule/car pretty fast if there was no power?
Im sure you have heard of Murpheys Law? I can only assume it hasnt been taken into account in regard to this.

I wonder why the US doesn't try this form of transportation, not as a pemanent solution to cars, but this coul greatly decrease our dependence on the middle east for fussel fuel, especial now that there isn''t as much left. I guess waging wars and increasing our military power and weapons is most important.

How long can a human handle 1 or 2g of acceleration?
mmw818s 9 months ago
@mmw818s All humans handle 1g their whole lives. The maximum extra load for ET3 is 1.41g, or the equivalent of a 40lb kid sitting on a 100lb grannies lap. The longest time will be about 3 min. An extremely small percentage of the population is too frail for this -- they can stay at home like they do now -- (because a car hitting a pot hole exposes occupants to sudden accelerations of 3g).

chuck981996 10 months ago
@chuck981996 We do love AU -- but there are less than 25m people and hundreds of miles of water to cross -- so AU will not likely get the first routes. All countries can build ET3 networks. If a country (like AU) chooses to build their local ET3 networks to the recommended international ET3 standard, then then can eventually tie into the global system when it makes economic sense to cross all that water (crossing oceans is more than ten times the cost of land based ET3).

@rachyj20 I don't think so. Tectonic plates move slowly, it would take millions of years most likely for any major shift to have occurred. And there are also automated systems built into it that can detect if a tube breaks and shuts down the tracks until it gets fixed.

Only if you assume they are still within an inertial frame of reference. Also, you did not mention both Normal and Tangential accelerations when moving in a non-linear motion. I should have said that "classical" F=ma does not hold.

@AlienScientist re:atell77 Do the unit analysis, brah.
(v^2/r) = [ (m/s)^2 / m ] = [ m^2 / m s^2 ] = [ m/s^2 ], or meter per second per second, same as acceleration.

AlienScientist 1 year ago
@AlienScientist
M0b1u5 1 year ago
@AlienScientist Don't think that you can create an "earthquake-proof" highway. An earthquake would take down any roadway, should the ground underneath the roadway be submerged enough. No way to keep a roadway elevated, if there is no ground to support it. . Unless, of course, you're talking about anti-gravity roadways, but I don't know any of those are currently in existence, lol Google "Kobe earthquake" and you can see the outcome of Japan's supposed "earthquake proof" roadways.

ETT would be an engineering nightmare....i dont think you realize how much power it would take to keep the tubes at vacuum. for example, in my lab it takes a day to bring our 14 square meter chamber to vacuum, and we have to keep it that way using a turbo pump. Also what happens if there are any structural failures (and there will be)? this is not a very safe or cost effective alternative to transportation, especially compared to flight.

detibry 1 year ago
@detibry, A lot of people said the same thing about Airplanes and Cars too.
AlienScientist 1 year ago
@detibry you don't need a full vacuum, only enough to reduce wind resistance to achieve your target speed.
pressureGM 10 months ago
@detibry Unlike your lab, ET3 is VERY safe and cost effective! The video shows that the capsule displaces more than 99% of the 6.57cubic meter airlock volume, leaving less than 0.0065m^3 to evacuate per capsule. Maglev turbo pumps have extremely low power requirements when running with no air load. ET3 design has less than 1/1000th the leakage of SwissMetro (SwissMetro did physical tests that proved low pumping energy to evacuate 5m diameter tunnels made of concrete with 1mm wide cracks).
EvacuatedTubes 8 months ago
I found your channel just today and have been enjoying the knowledge you're spreading. Though exciting, I've also pondered how systems like this would only encourage further exploitation. Slap a huge price tag on tickets to go anywhere in the world in moments, milk the Earth of more raw materials more quickly, etc... I suppose I am too much of a pessimist to think humanity can use something for good rather than exploitation, or rather the folks in charge.
MachinegunDojo 1 year ago
This is obviously the way to go, but as many pointed out. What about security?, and how can people use this to do evil.
Well i guess our security systems may also need to improve in order to implement a system like this. But very interesting video...i have no doubts that in the near future we will have this kind of transportation.

that's true but i mean, if terrorists really wanted to, they could blow up our highways and rail systems. it's all moral, mental "no-no" that hold people back from pushing that nuclear warhead button.
LucentTwinkle 1 year ago
@14letsgo That in itself would be very difficult to carry out. Since the tube is a vacuum, the explosion has no medium to carry it. There would be no shockwave, no fire, the exlosion would only cause real damage the the outer layer of the tube if it was above ground.
gibb1991 1 year ago
cool stuff aliens. 489000 mph speed of sun around the galactic center. what would be the exit speed at the end of a space ramp? (ceramic vaporization temperatures?)
Limited resources/engineering probable reason for no mass vacuum transit. (chunnel time/expense as an example,we don't breathe vacuum). what effect does drawing energy from the wind have on the environment? solar power...sterling closest thing to feasible I've seen(still expensive)
jbsroberson 1 year ago
One key point to this that i routinely bitch about is the fact that we could have either had this technology, or something similar by now if it wasnt for greed. Mass transport has been VERY slow at evolving and is still EXTREMELY expensive for the average person.

Yes, this is a good idea, but what about all those people out of jobs? I mean the airline pilots, airport workers, road workers and what about the car industry, it would be gone, all those people out of jobs and unemployed.

Great ideas! The only things I can think of that would be dangerous are how easy epidemics could spread, and the threat of terrorism to the tubes.

lol i said this on another vid. we will never be able to fully stop using fossil fuels. just think about the redneck that has a muscle car. lets say its a 69' camero. mr redneck has spent alot of his time and savings in this gas powered car. you think he will just spend more money into it just so it will be more environmental friendly? or change his car so it is electric or runs on ethanol?

First off, we need to be civilized and have a 100% private property. With the governments having monopoly on infrastructure, we won't have this in a million years. I mean many railway systems are from the past century!

Don't wast time on terrestrial travel. There are anti-gravity propulsion systems, portal and time travel systems already in existence.
Nice idea but waste of resources.... open sourcing anti-gravity and free energy are much more a priority

Sounds like an awesome new paradigm for transportation which probably won't come to fruition―not in my lifetime, at any rate. I wish people would shake off their hesitancy and commit to these type of advancements; it's frustrating knowing we could do so much now, but instead doing, we just talk about them.

how do you stop and go out of it and get in to it and make it go?

great idea, but as it is, travelling even at 1000km/h is considered unsafe in a small capsule that changes direction rapidly. the smallest hitch could disturb this system drastically if it travels much faster. earthquakes are already a major problem for undersea fibre cables - imagine what a problem they'd be for a system that has to transport humans... it would have to have some pretty robust shock tolerance not to mention dynamic adjustment to handle changing forces/weight inside the capsule

Throw in some batteries, and you have FREE energy transport.

this is a very awesome idea, but one problem is that there are a lot of people love cars, the biggest reason i don't like busses and trains is because i can't go when and where i want to, i have to go when and where the trains want me to, i have no control. i really can see this being a world changing idea, even if it was used not for people but just shipping, so you could order something from the internet and it would arrive at your door within the hour,
RustyNex 1 year ago

You have a good imagination, but this tunnel idea is bristling with fundamental problems.
The big one's are the staggering cost and huge ammount of time required to build it,even a small version.
Because it has to be so straight and level, would require a huge ammount of earthworks and tunnel boring, before the tube itself is constructed.
Then it would be a constant nightmare keeping it serviced, safe and leak free.
Would take many moons to create the vacuum insde the tube and maintain it.
