  • Chet's solo here is amazingly smooth and lyrical. What amazing vocabulary and feel he had.

  • This has to be one of my all time favorites! Chet Baker is sooo talented! He's completly awesome! My familly is OBSESSED with jazz.

    Thanks sooo much.

  • You are most welcome. It was a great loss to jazz when he died so young.

  • ...it's my father on drums - and sure I'm proud...

  • As well you should be proud, he always played in the best of company. This clip ,being recorded in the studio rather than a hall, makes it all the more intimate.

  • Neverknewtillnow that I love you! Thank you so much for the video. I also heard this theme from an obscure selection cd I bought in a pawnshop here in Brazil many years ago and lost it.

    A kiss on you forehead!

  • Thank you so much, I appreciate your kind reply. .

  • Thanks for the comment. Pleased you enjoyed it.

Check out "A Jazz Classic" and "Bye Bye Bkackbird" on my site from the same sitting.

  • To Neverknowtillnow. Thanks for this post. I have it on an obscure medley CD ,Jazz for Trumpet, but was pleasantly surprised to find it on YouTube. It's the best treatment of this ballad that I have come across to date; definitely better than Baker's earlier 1954 version. The piano solo is particularly good. It's a classic.
