yeah it's not like jumping in the air without doing anything... that looks like shit... you have to do the right movement to olli... to get that pop right BUT it IS easy as hell Oo
Exactly. Doing an ollie on a snowboard is much different than just jumping and sucking your knees up. Steezy describes it perfectly. If you get that pop the tail propels you much higher into the air than you could ever jump. Besides that, if you pop it right, it just looks right. Jumping will only make you look like a poser. Just like making uneducated comments.
this might be a dumb question... but as long as ur board is not on something rough can u strap in and jump around working on ollies grabs and stuff? or is there a surface other then the snow to work on that year round? thanks
If you're spinning frontside go up on your heels to make sure you don't catch your tail toe edge on the lip cuz that'll really throw you off. it sucks. at first try on real small jumps by ollying. try to keep your body perpindicular to the ground and throw in a grab. it will help you keep balance
man i remeber wne i frist learned how to do 360 i always usto have a stright body and lever land..but after watching some of these vid and actully trying it out i looked down and was amazed at how much easier and ebtter it feels to actuly know were u landing..i kinda stopped looking down and just going by the timing of the jump but when i tried to do it off a bigger jump didnt know the timing and kept fallign so i gotta get abck to looking down..by the way its funner with a grab:)
Grabbing helps lock them in. If you watch old school guys, you'll notice how they scissor a lot of their spins. You want to avoid doing that, and the easiest way to do that is by using a grab to help keep things locked in.
almost 90% of snowboarding isnt reliant on skill. if you have the skill, great, all you need now is the balls to try awesome tricks. like, backflip is easier than a 360, but the whole going upside down thing freaks a lot of people out. just go for it, youll get it.
take off and landing, they are really easy once you do it your 1st time, and going form a 180 to a 360 is probably the hardest when it comes to spinning, but once you get it, spinning comes easy
you dont really use your legs, other than the takeoff, make sure you are coming off the lip of the jump in a heelside carve, and if you have the right shoulder movement, the "kicker" should do most of the work.
it would help if the lip was better but to get all the way around just try to twist your legs a bit more to make it 360 or try to look over your shoulder while you spin. It will make it a lot easier to finish the spin
not trying to start a fight here but the first part bout the legs dont do cuz then u will get into a bad habbit and then u wont be able to spin like 540 or 720 but the second part about the head and sholders just twist them to the way ur spining and it will make ur whole body turn....but u ahve to make shure u stop rotating ru sholders just b4 u are about to finish the spin so then u dont over rotate
haha i know.. roydertreue is bullshittin, but the sample sounds familiar, maybe a 9th wonder, or dj premier beat.. perhaps dilla? i'll find it though.
Anybody knows the background song`s name?

and ollieng isnt jumping "jizzalloverpants101"
its a weight shift to the tail and the pop is created with that, you try just jumping in the park, and see what happens

Carpet would be fine, just vacuum up so you don't scratch your board. Grass could be alright, but I wouldn't risk it.

Do you have to jump when you do a 180 or 360, or just pull you knees up to your chest?
HeeeStinkie 3 years ago
you don't have to jump much.
i usually do 180 fs, by pressin on the back and twisting my body in the right position then follow through with my legs.

another tip from CASI freestlye instructor
when you go to fronside 360, it helps to lock your hips
instead of just counter rotating
rotate ur body and lock ur hips, spot the landing and return to your basic position
evansimons 4 years ago
what do you mean "lock your hips" ??
psxp1 4 years ago
he means dont spin your legs at a different speed then your shoulders. your body should spin as one piece for a nice smooth transition.
lamp666 4 years ago
ah..makes sense - thanks

if you know how to do a backflip on the trampoline really well, then it is easier than a 360.

how much do you actually use your legs in a front 3?

every time i try a front 3, i can only get a 270, also does it matter that the lip of the jump is mostly ice?
juukame 4 years ago
