I don't know why Gaga is getting a ton of shit for this. I knew about the original because my mother would play it when I was younger and I loved it growing up. After hearing this cover, I thought she did an amazing job. And people this was a TRIBUTE, not a rip off? Props to you Gaga for doing an amazing job with this.

This shows Lady GaGa's lack of creativity and originality. This song was sung perfectly by Peter Gabriel and Kate Bush. There is no need to remake a perfect duet. This song sucks! Please find some other song that needs to be remade...this one doesn't...ever.

I'm not talking about other artists, I'm talking about this remake and yes to other artists who remake perfect songs, they lack their own creativity and originality, if they truly had creativity and originality, they wouldn't need to remake any songs, they could write and create their own music. Get over yourself. I haven't stated anything that's untrue. This is certainly not better than the original by any stretch of the imagination.

@JanaMusicUK How is it an insult to the original when Lady GaGa has a much fuller and stronger voice. It's not the original, but it's a good cover, vocally. Oh, and GaGa didn't "rip this off", considering Midway State decided to cover it and probably had the idea to copy the original video.

@haydonobob The point of the original was that Kate Bush played the part of a vulnerable partner. There was intentional subtlety, something lost on Gaga. She isn't singing from the heart, she's just going through the motions. There's no passion in this version at all. I didn't say she ripped this off either, I said she's an insult to everything (and everyone) she rips off such as Madonna, Bette Midler, Annie Lennox, Elton John, Queen, Kate Bush and Cindi Lauper to name but a few.

@JanaMusicUK I just think Lady GaGa singing "Don't Give Up" was just the start of her message, which many others have shared. And if you can find a modern pop musician that hasn't "ripped off" these greats, I'd like to hear a few names. Besides, Madonna, Elton John, Brian May from Queen, and Cyndi Lauper have all worked with Lady GaGa. Not to mention Bette Midler and Annie Lennox complimenting her.
