Please, the picture between 2.42-2:50, is that also Shishkin? And, if it is, what is it called?

All of the paintings were done by Shishkin. That particular work is entitled "A Brook in a Pine Forest" (naturally enough), I was unable to find a date for it. The only other painter who came close to Shishkin's skill with nature was Isaak Levitan, no doubt on that. Indeed, he was Shishkin's equal, I would say.

This man, Khvorostovsky, is truly brilliant.One can hardly find a more striking example of a patriotic song perfomed in such a grandiose fashion.I believe, even those who don't understand a single word of Russian can easily sense the delicate feelings in this song.

By the way, I guess he (Khvorostovsky) is quite a popular figure there in Russia, isn't he?

I have actually sung with Dmitri and can honestly say that he sounds even better in person, but his recordings are the next best thing! He even autographed my "Moscow Nights" score! This incredible singer IS RUSSIA, no doubt about it...and I'm not even Russian and can tell that much just from hearing him sing!

I quite agree... along with his contemporary Isaak Levitan... I am thinking of "Eternal Peace" (1894). That is one of the most breathtaking paintings ever made. A serene skete set in a jewel of a landscape... AWESOME.
