Miss Helen has truly destroyed this song, The End of the World. Leave poor Skeeter Davis' version alone. But of course in the 60s every singer wanted to tackle the song.

But at least I got to know this British singer, Miss Shapiro, whose other original songs are just fine.

I agree Wayne. This is obviously a newly posted video of Helen Shapiro in 1965singing from her album "Helen Hits Out" of that year. Arguably the greatest british pre-beatle female contralto vocalist of all time. Most people don't know she practically co-discovered the beatles, touring with them in 1963. Its unfortunate more americans were unable to see and hear her in her prime.

I'm 45 years younger just hearing Helen. Have all her records up to a point. She wasn't as popular as time went on here in Oz. I adore her. Have met several times. I couldn't speak!!

Was unrequitedly inlove at the time Helen sang this tune. I kept on singing it aswell. Still to-day I know all the words, although haven't had it in my mind for ages. I wonder what he's doing and where the shores have driffted him. Tks. alot for uploading this tune.
