I love the Suzuki Escudo (the red car) for the utter speed (about 250 mph), but its handling is shitty on the road.

Actually,the car makers told Polyphony not to show crashes in their cars,so it's not Gran Turismo fault,but the makers themselves,because...Why the hell do the makers let NEED FOR SPEED or FORZA make crashing modelling in their cars and not in GT?

Car manufacturers don't allow Polyphony to show damage modelling because GT is marketed as a Driving SIMULATOR as opposed to a Racing GAME. Apparently, it is only a few of the manufacturers who are disallowing damage modelling, but they can't have some cars damageable and others not so none are. Personally I race without crashing, so I wouldn't notice anyway, I guess kids with joypads and no driving experience don't know how to brake into corners and power out.

you say that as if you 'choose' not to crash..like a professional driver simply 'chooses' not to crash or suffer damage and never does....If you don't crash occasionally I'd take that as the game is overly generous with its physics scheme

Well, I drive the way I would drive my actual car and that is I slow down for corners. The rest is about positioning yourself on the road correctly and taking the correct line. I think the physics are fairly accurate, however there are characteristics such as 'brake fade' missing, as well as physical g-forces. I do occasionally stray off track and grind the barriers but I don't stop dead. The AI can attribute to the majority of major crashes that occur.
