  • Ok this is my final word: I consumed MANY times whit powder sugar, i drink soda too, and other products with worse shape sugars, AM I SICK FAT? ADDICTED????? NO NOT AT ALL????? WTTTFFFFFFF COME ON!!! WAKE UP AND LEARN REAL BIOLOGY AT SCHOOL AGAIN WILL YOU ALL HERE!!!

  • The thing that makes it addictive is the way of feeding, i do understand that. parents are responsible. WHIT POWDER??? no. not at all. Poly ssaccharides and chemical sweeteners are the evils here ok? just let them drink soda. but not every day! only in weekend i do that too!

    IT"T NOT THIS DANGEROUS

STOP SPREADING LIES ABOUT CONSEQUENCES YOU EXPLAIN! THESE ARE VERY CRITICAL STAGES OF SUGAR USE!

  • @VideoScenario THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS WHTE POWDER SUGAR!!!!

  • @VideoScenario that is stupid, the source is the monosaccharides that comes into ur body NOTHING ELSE. the different sugar type is POLY saccharide, and saccharide that are made by factories chemical sweeteners.

The bad things about these sugars is that ur body has to obtain these sugars in a different way. when these BAD sugars come in, your body first has to cut these sugars, and makes it harder to use, so u get fat etc etc.

But she is wrong about what she says

  • Sorry, i do not agree that sugar is so dangerous. it's only very stupid if you take to MUCH of it. YOU NEED SUGAR SUGAR GIRL!!!!

And 1 bottle of soda is not making people fat in the 1st place. when you sport enough, it does not matter.

And it is stupid too push you main energy source to hell!???

    come on!

i eat A LOT of sugar and i don't get fat???? I SPORT ENOUGH AND I EAT OTHER HEALTHY STUFF LIKE FRUITS ETC!

    YOU ARE TOTALLY EXAGGERATING

  • sugar makes people fat, pure and simple.

  • fructose is the enemy," glucose is energy of life", Dr Lustig ,complex carbs is what the cells need, simple carbs, fructose is trash

  • It is as if there are people there who want this sort of info hidden.. and they've been doing so for a long time...... where was the effing media's role here?... they just woke up to it?

I can't believe that we JUST discovered this within these recent decades.

  • Does pasta/spaghetti contain (bad) sugar?

  • @theguym I don't really know why there would ever be sugar in pasta; usually its just flour, egg, water, salt, maybe olive oil. But then you have to get on the discussion of carbs - pasta, breads, and pretty much all grains should actually be avoided as well. That's another story - please, look into it - for yourself. :)

  • man, this food situation is gettin outta hand

  • That's if you have too much sugar. A little bit's not bad. I eat ice cream every day and i only weigh 95.5 pounds. My metabolism is SO high that I have to eat every hour. I eat almost anything that i can find because we cant afford that much, but I am healthy and strong, even though i eat chips and ice cream and drink the occasional soda.

  • Im friggin addicted to sugar and Im only 16!!!

  • I hate fat kids too...

  • roflmao:P i drink loads of coke very day far away from fat... 1 can of coke/daily - guaranteed fat..? lol u should meet me :p

  • tanks to you sugar tasts even better now!!!!!

  • if sugar WAS as bad as you said it was people would still eat it

  • ZOMG! Americans eat crap? Someone alert the AP!

  • most people confuse natural sugar found in fruits with refined processed man made sugar, there should be a label to distingugish between the two.

the sugar found in "superfood juice" is not bad for you.

  • most people confuse natural sugar found in fruits with processed refined sugar made by man, there should be a label to distinguish between the two.

the grams of sugar in "super food juice" is not bad for you.

  • Thank you, Erin!

  • Erin what do you recommend for a good drink for children . Other than juicey juice etc. I am a parent of 2 daughters 5and 2. I just recently stopped eating all sugar (refined ) but find it difficult to find healthy substitutes . need help

  • Very smart! Excellent vid and great info..I like your way of thinking. :)

  • I feel you girl. Its amazing how these people can live and function on this stuff. Have there been any studies on how their body adapts to that shit?

  • Good intentions, but i suggest you town it down a bit, your tone its kinda annoying. Also, drinking your water from (PVC) polyvinyl chloride plastic bottle is kinda dumb. Unless you want birth defects and cancer.

  • as anyone actually tried eating just the real sugar not sugar + ______.

Soda yes not that great for you. But the real white sugar?

  • Erin, you're awesome!

And sugar causes children to get crooked teeth. Sugar pulls minerals out of the bones, so the jawbone doesn't grow enough so teeth get crowded.

The body is trying to save the long bones. After decades of eating sugar, they have become weak and full of empty spaces. That's osteoporosis.

Most doctors will say - As you age, you lose bone mass. But people in cultures that eat little or no sugar don't get osteoporosis.

Check out Weston A Price for more info!

  • thanks for the comment! i'm a HUGE proponent of weston a price and speak of them often. more people need to know about them. we must preach, preach, preach!! way to go.

  • cont. You mentioned soda.... Each year students nation wide have to take some sort of test to gauge their progress according to the "no child left behind" act. In my state it's called the CRCT. On the mornings that the test is administered teachers schoolwide (k-5) feed the kids multiple cups of Mountain Dew. Allegedly caffieine improves performance. Students are encouraged to drink as much as they want (at 8 am!) The administration is behind this unofficial policy and parents don't care.

  • Caffine isn't sugar... no?

  • As a teacher of 9 years I can tell you that what your neighbor kid appears to have been eating is not at all uncommon. Literally 99% of the students i have taught live on a diet of Juice boxes, pop tarts, snack cakes etc. literally 99% eat the school lunch and school breakfast (because it's cheap and the parents are too lazy to feed them in the a.m.). School lunch is pure garbage. Of course this leads to concentration problems and the parents are more than happy to then put them on drugs.

  • Most people have not heard of stevia. I had to read comments from viewers to find out what it is. Please explain from time to time what it is so newbies can be in the know. Also, spell the word. I couldn't understand what the word was when you talked about using it in your ice cream recipe. Your videos are delightful. Keep up the good work.

  • Quaker original oatmeal is one of the foods i eat everyday that isn't organic. It says the only ingredient is 100 percent natural rolled oats. So does this mean that it contains no flour? I was wondering because if you let it sit, a white powdery substance appears on the bowl.

  • oohhh you'd probably love steal cut oats then! i'd recommend you make the switch to organic steal cut oats. you'll have to cook them overnight, but the whole grain is better for you (1/4 cup oats, 3/4 cup water, cook in pot in oven on lowest heat over night) it's oat flour in the bottom of the bowl not white flour :)

  • Yo, learned a lot. But please realize that as much as I want to quit my sugar addiction, it's not easy. It's like quitting smoking. You need to provide information on how to quit. Also, could you tell me more about sugar being directly deposited as fat? I'm really curious. Thanks. Will be helpful.

  • awe. well, you assume that i'm not speaking from experience :) you are correct, sugar is very addictive. you must realize that you are a very powerful person. give yourself the credit you deserve. the bottom line is, regardless of how hard it is, the only way to quit is to reduce it from your diet while at the same time adding in whole foods. how sugar turns into fat is a huge clinical discussion, glucose = insulin = fat deposit etc... good luck!

  • @ErinHuggins dude. The human body NEEDS insulin.

  • Your taste buds are naturally inclined to eat sweet things. Also, Whole Foods has A LOT of sugary products; you may choose to avoid them but they are abundant. Most people prefer to be happy and obese then hating what they eat and be healthy. It's pointless to preach when nobody will accept the message.

  • See what you learned from your mother was priceless. We are taught that all of this crap is normal we see it everyday on T.V. this is what they should teach in my p.e. class.

  • Erin, I completely agree! I have tried some "crazy diets" because of some chronic health issues I have. I did an anti-candida diet that excludes, among other things, all kinds of sugar, even fruit. For awhile I felt great and my problem was almost gone. It only really helped for maybe 6 months, and to be honest I really didn't want to continue avoiding so much food. How do feel about sugar substitutions? I'm not talking about products like splenda, but what about honey, agave nectar, etc?

  • if you have candida issues, do not use honey- very high sugar content in honey. agave nectar is better, but the BEST choice would be stevia liquid drops or stevia powder.

  • stevia tastes way better and sweeter than sugar anyway. Screw the FDA

  • this is soo true. i am the metabolic type that cant handle carbs (im also insulin resistant) and sugar just hurts me in every way possible. I have really cut back over the past few months and I have gone from having panic attacks all the time to having just about none, i have no more brain fog, and i dont feel half asleep at all times.

My question for you is, exactly how much carbs in a day can a protein type eat. I have the metabolic typing book, but i cant find it

  • i'm so glad you are feeling better! the typical ratio for a protein type is 40% protein, 30% fat and 30% carbohydrate. hope that helps!

  • Erin? What do you eat? I wanna eat healthy. I eat Quaker oatmeal like every morning. I eat a lot of rice (Asian kind). I dont eat junk food or soda. Do you make stuff from the Weight Watchers cookbook? I dont have a Wholes Foods near me...is my local grocery good enough?

  • hi hon. i eat foods that are appropriate for my metabolic type. i had my metabolism analyzed and that's how i know what to eat. i would tell you what i eat, but my diet may be completely inappropriate for you - we might not be the same "type." i suggest getting the book "The Metabolic Typing Diet" by William Wolcott. read that and take the mini test in there to determine what foods you should eat! good luck :)

  • Hey. Thanks. I just ate this sugary brownie thing I made and I swear, I felt like I was on crack (not that I know what that's like); and I now feel dizzy. Well, for a while now it has become clear that it's time to change my eating habbits.

  • oh no! for realz. sugar is a drug!

  • I agree 100%!

    Great video!

    *Favorited*

  • awe thanks! i could go on and on about this subject :)

  • Hi Erin,

wow - thanks. I am like, dying, of sugar addiction. Am trying to go to 12 programs to help with it. Lately, I've been just mainlining it and really trying to pay attention to the fact that it is truely - a drug. I am actually frightened to get off of it.Thx

  • one cause of sugar cravings is not eating the correct foods for your metabolic type. make sure you are getting enough protein. this should help. xo, erin

  • Oh I know!My Dad lets my 14 year old sister drink pop and eat candy and chips everyday and my house is LOADED with junk food.Everyone thinks just because she has a good metabloism and she's not even close to being fat or chubby that it's okay for her body to eat all that trash 24/7 when it's NOT.I'm so glad to see that someone else feels this way too,I just wish all those skinny teens would realize that their food choices are wrong and just because theyre thin it DOESNT mean theyre healthy!!

  • Amen sister. Amen.

  • People wonder why diabetes is out of control in this country. You didn't mention instantly dumping a huge load on your pancreas!

  • i dont drink much pop but, tastes so good o.o lol what about china cola or green tea root beer? both are all organic and herbal, but have very similar taste to pop, like china cola is all chinese herbs but tastes pretty much exactly like coke or pepsi

  • I don't know? Is there sugar or high fructose corn syrup in them? If so, then I wouldn't drink them!

  • I love your videos! Empowering.

  • thank you :) wow - a 10 day water fast huh? that's intense. brave one!

  • Thank you for this video =D

  • thanks erin for the wake up call :(

we dont drink soda here but we drink alot of milk tea sweetened with white sugar, we drink that all day long, i think that is not good too, isnt it?

  • use agave nectar or stevia. white sugar should be used very sparingly if at all. an increase in blood sugar causes your pancreas to secrete insulin. insulin tells the body there is too much sugar in the blood. sugar is pulled out of the blood and stored as fat if not immediately used. insulin = fat storage

glucagon is another hormone released from the pancreas. this hormone tells the body it needs more energy and triggers the body to pull it form fat. glucagon = fat loss

    make sense?

  • Oh.Hell.Yessss!

And...you know what's sad...these kids are typically having way more than 1 can of soda. You add that to the millions of other places they get sugar...and it blows my mind.

I love that you did a visual of what 1 can of soda looks like in "sugar"...that's something I've done in my workshops with clients ;)

    you're awesome :)

  • It's funny, it didn't bother me nearly as much that someone threw trash in my yard as what was in the trash. What most people eat I wouldn't give away to a starving man.

Treat your body like a temple - It will look like/feel a temple. Treat your body like a trash can it will look/feel like a trash can.

We'll just have to keep on spreading the good word :)

  • *virtual high five*

Puttin' it down around town so people won't sugar crash 'n' frown ;)
