I voted for Cynthia Mckinney, for president of the United States of America, November 2008. I voted for her because it was time for a change, not because she and I share the same last name.
Hey Moron, war is part of life because there will always be evil in the world! ASS! The figure of 47M without health coverage is a LIE ( you FOOL!)..the left always distorts facts! 10M R illegal aliens, 17M simply choose not to have it, about 4% are between jobs, & there are millions who get it free through Medicaid... a more accurate HONEST figure is about 8-10M (according to the Kaiser Foundation). I like her even though I haven't always been a fan of hers because she times has almost come off as a racist but I think Ms. McKinney has some great ideas and during her time in Congress did more than Nancy Pelosi has done since she got there so I'm a McKinney supporter now!

A new record was set for a Green candidate running for the US House, when Deb McFarland finished second in an Arkansas District 2 race with 64,622 votes or 23.33%.
Rebekah Kennedy apparently set a new percentage record for a Green running for the US Senate, with 202,016 votes or 20.59% (results not official) in her Arkansas race.
Along with Richard Carroll's state legislature victory (see below), Arkansas Greens showed the most dramatic electoral growth of any state Green Party
The total number of votes for Green congressional candidates (483,671 so far)
will rise further after the December 6 postponed election in New Orleans, Louisiana, where Green candidate Malik Rahim is running in District 2 for a seat currently held by William Jefferson, who is under federal indictment.
• Bruce Delgado was elected Mayor of Marina City, Monterey County, California (pop. 25,000).
Mr. Delgado joins California Green mayors Gayle McLaughlin of Richmond and Craig Litwin of Sebastopol. The Green Party of California announced at least five victories statewide in 2008
• The District of Columbia had the greatest number of Green victories on November 4, with seven DC Statehood Green Party candidates elected to Advisory Neighborhood Commission seats:
A former 6 term congressperson running for president not get media coverage so potential voters can be informed! Think about why the media didn't give you this information.
I wonder how many people are actually informed of the political and corporate backgrounds of the appointments Obama is making.
the media determines who the "frontrunners" are, and then blacklists everyone else or paints them in a negative light. When it comes to elections it shouldn't be about who has the most support from various corporate lobbyists and/or who has the most money in their bank account. It should be about whose stance on the issues is most in alignment with the citizens of the country. Sadly, our government is extremely corrupt and it doesn't look like that will change anytime soon.
@RunCynthiaRun i would still vote Ron Paul... but cynthia is alright by me. I just like ron paul cause hes a freemason so i wish to throw my vote away in favor of the new world order.
There was absolutely NO REASON for her to remain a Dem. That party has NOTHING in common with Cynthia's politics which includes integrity not supported by the corporations.
She is building her new political party. The Green Party. Look at the electoral wins and it's just a small part of some 240 elected Greens in the USA.
Thank you Cynthia for committing to building the grassroots.
Sadly I heard nothing about the Green Party during elections. I stumbled upon video clips as an Obama supporter. Her perspective lines up with mine. Only wishing she was still a Dem so she had a better chance of being put in the spotlight. Going to google her now... Want to know more... :)
I didn't Believe the hype, and did get hypnotized by expensive commercials or blown away by all the HOT AIR on tv. I did my own homework- I voted for Cynthia McKinney for president!
Hmm, seems you don't know US election law nor FEC rules.
While there's been significant early voting. Election day is TUESDAY Nov 4.
5% is all she needs for the Green Party to become a federally funded political party in the US. That would mean MILLLIONS of $ for 2012 and a competitive race.
May I ask why you (and apparently most people) do not know their own Election laws? It is a ROOT of the electoral problem.
"minor" parties can become "major" parties if they get 5% of the vote and become federally funded as FEC rules state.
Most citizens do not know their state and federal election laws, rules, regulations and unfortunately wast their votes on "major" party candidates. Such candidates need only to win state races by 1 vote to gain all its electoral votes. All votes for the loosing candidate count for ZERO. Voting for a "minor" candidate would make it easy to get 5%. That vote would NOT be wasted!
am Angry, actually im as MAD AS HELL and i am not going to take it anymore !!!!
I will NOT submit and Lay down and accept 'whoever' or 'whatever' is thorwn at me Politically by those that seek to control My life and make a slave out of me for THEIR OWN GAIN , as if being a Proud Noble Citizen of this great land i am NOW a filthy dog that must 'beg' for the crumbs and scraps that are handed to me !
NOOO I WANT FREEDOM AND THATS WHAT YOU SHOULD WANT ! Stop this lesser of 2 evils INSANITY
You voted for someone who supports the Patriot Act, the Death Penalty, the Patriot Act, voted for FISA, support NAFTA and the horrible "free" trade agreements, vote for the $700 Billion bailout of the corporations, is not opposed to the war. Are you expecting much to change?
I think Chuck would have a better chance of winning, and he has more people behind him, but I really respect Cynthia and completely agree with what she stands for. It's a shame that the MSM is so corrupt that they barely allow anyone but the 2 mainstream candidates a chance to get a word in edgewise, otherwise she would have more supporters.
I wish third party candidates could partidipate in the national presidential debates on TV. That way they would be much more interesting and informative...not to mention that most Americans would be made aware of the fact that the choice isn't between the lesser of two evils, but there are other options as well.
There was going to be one tonight--but then one guy claimed he had a schedule conflict, another backed out, and then Cynthia didn't want to debate Nader alone so she backed out, too. *waves flag* So presidential of them.
Cynthia was on ThirdPartyTicket BreakTheMatrix debate. None of the other candidates showed out. It was online via webcam so others could have showed. Cynthia WAS there though.
Is this on Youtube? Could you link me to it, please? I found something from a few weeks ago, but I'm talking about the one that was supposed to happen last night.
A beautiful and smart woman, but in my honest opinion, she won't be president. The thing with minor parties is that they almost never put themselves out there. They don't pay for advertisements on TV, they don't do news publicized speeches, etc. Yes, these are expensive, but since FDR's campaign, they are necessary.
5% of the vote means a nationally funded political party. In addition some state parties will gain ballot access.
That funding would cover the expenses for TV and media outreach in 2012. That's how the funding works unfortunately most people do not know how Federal Party funding works in the U.S.A.
In addition it takes lots of individual donors and it's why corporate funded candidates are all most people see because CEOs give more.
QUEEN,PULEEEEEZE!DONT BECOME A FUCKING POLITITIAN!!"I approve this mess.,"?thats same ol shit, man.you are saying what WE Canadians are DOING.go out in the streets and pay your dues, sistah.let the lil ones know that YOU are saying the same thing that King OBAMA IS SAYING!!ps~ are you an ACORN member?
Way to raise the money Cynthia. $62,000 and you don't even qualify for federal funding. Greens should have endorsed Ralph Nader. This party has lost a lot of respectability in my eyes.
sorry she doesnt support capitalism and the war in iraq is that the reason or maybe is it she wants to repeal the corrupted drug laws and drug war which cost us billions of dollars or is it what she says she would do she has actually done it?
McKinney makes great points, and if you really think about it, the Dems have NOT been very different than repubs. We are still in a war, and they took impeachment off the table. It is a SHAME we only have two parties that are viable. It really limits the conversation.
5% of the vote would make a third viable party. That's the threshold for Federal funding for a national political party.
I dearly wish people knew our Federal Election Laws.
BTW add Obama's vote for FISA and the Bailout as reasons why voting for him gets you similar policies to the Republicans. Personally "lesser evilism" isn't viable. The public is hurt either way. 5% can change that.
This is a pathetic comment. Obama is going to win and it's for your own good, even if you don't realize it. People supporting Mccain or going against Obama are like babies being taken to the doctor for a shot. They kick and scream but in the end it's to save your own but from your own ignorance.
I suggest you look at Obama's voting record. Facts give you more info than flowery speeches. If anything the debates reveal how marginal the differences are.
I've looked at both. Mccain's voting record makes him all but untrustworthy. He's wish-washy, he flip-flops like a fish, he favors big companies and believe the government's only involvement in this country should be enforcing legislation based on religion. Which is against the constitution.
Obama's record is thin and has a blotch or two, but he's clearly the more solid candidate because his record shows consistency, and competence, two things lacking in Mccain's record.
On top of that, Obama's record shows that he's capable of compromise and progression. He initially opposed federal rights for gays but thankfully he flip-flopped on that and now believes that gays SHOULD have the same federal rights as married couples.
What else do you know about his voting record? And how much do you know about Mccain's? Have you given both candidates a fair chance or do you only know republican talking points?
I think i've given both candidates a pretty fair chance. Considering that I keep hearing about both of them on the news. However, this candidate seems to respect the people , and tends to focus on problems that are readily ignored by the two major parties. Probably cause the two major parties would lose financing from the big companies. I'd rather vote for someone that actually cares about the people. Sorry if thats hurts your feelings.
Nobody's feelings are hurt lol. Yours will be on election day, if you've seen the electoral map at all lately you know Mccain is fighting an uphill battle, hence his pulling out of Michigan. Anywho, considering how Mccain voted with GEORGE W BUSH I think that tells you all you need to know about his judgment and who he cares about. Mccain cares about the wealthy and big corporations. The only one who's feelings are going to be hurt will be you on election day. See ya at the polls!*wink*
dog, I'll say it again, I dont care if she wins or not, the point of me voting for her is to increase the support for the party and their values, her values reflect my own, im not out for the popularity contest and I know alot of people are, possibly you too, since you keep mentioning McCain wheen there are more parties involved, or did you not watch this video, or did you not know that a party gets government funding when it gets a certain amount of votes lol
Green Change has the email addresses for Commission on Presidential Debates board members, who are disregarding the popular will by refusing to open the debates to ballot-qualified candidates like Cynthia. Go to GreenChangeDotOrg and tell the CPD that you want open, democratic debates.
oh god, i pray and ask you, how can the good be heard amongst all the noise in this world? Oh God, silence them so the good may be heard. This I pray. I pray. amen.
Voting for her can make all the difference in the world. Not voting for her will defeat your own principles and the principles that can/will change this country.
5% of the vote creates a funded viable national political party of change.
Cynthia, thank you for fighting the machine, and speaking up when few seem to heed. Your voice means something. I have tremendous respect for your integrity and courage.
Hey Honorable Cynthia Ann McKinney. Thank you for calling me at Dan Ashby's place back in 2006 after the Mossad set me on fire. I will never let you down. Jeff Fisher!!! I always pray for you.
I love cigars, God, Jane Bowell, y humanity.
Tell everyone to Google Jane Bowell World Peace et Tipper Gore World Peace und Jennifer Lynn Masaryk Ellis World Peace
In Canada the Green party has 6-7% of the vote but still hasn't won a single seat. It is vital that the Republicans not win the Whitehouse again in 2008. The Dems also need to win the Senate & the Congress. After 8 years of hell this is a must. I wish these fringe parties would see this & drop out. Nader is running again also. If the Nader & Green take Democrat votes in key states, it will allow the Repubs to win them. That is also the Electoral College. Also McKinney brings way too much baggage
40 States are "safe" in that many of the votes for Obama are actually wasted because of the Electoral College.
In states that McCain wins, Obama votes DON'T COUNT AT ALL - waisted. Votes for McKinney count for candidate/Green Party's 5% which is MILLIONS of DOLLARS for next election. Making them VIABLE. Federal Election Law on Funding of Parites
In states where Obama wins, votes over the simple majority WASTED. Don't add to Electoral College Total.
Citizens put candidates on the ballot. Do you request that those citizens "drop out?"
Citizens also make their voting choices. Do you suggest coercive tactics to limit their choices by asking the candidates that the citizenry has put on the ballot, to drop out?
Do you what that kind of gov't is called?
Watch American Blackout to see how elections are manipulated. It isn't the candidates that cause that result that's for sure.
that would be a VERY LONG post (it's been posted elsewhere).
5% of the vote give both the campaign and Green Party MILLIONS of DOLLARS for the next election. Making that one viable. That's the Federal Law on how NATIONALLY FUNDED campaigns/parties are created. This is HOW one makes a 3rd Party viable.
Many states get ballot access through a presidential campaign. That means their local candidate can win more easily.
In about 40 out of 50 states MOST votes for a major party candidate are wasted since the Electoral College decides the election.
Voting for Obama in a state that McCain wins, counts for ZERO for Obam whereas the votes for McKinney count towards her 5% total.
Votes for Obama over the threshold to win the electoral votes of that state are also wasted. Obama wins all the electoral votes of a state whether he wins by 1 or a million. If some of those votes were for McKinney they'd count for 5%.
In short, McKinney can create a Nationally Funded Viable Political Party with all the otherwise wasted votes for Obama.
It's very sad that you are not taught US Election Law in school or in the media. Keeping people ignorant is what perpetuates the power structure.
McKinney can WIN the 5% and then she and/or the Green Party would be in contention in the next election and elect hundreds of people to local office in the meantime.
That's CONTENTION. That's the FACTS they don't tell you.
Much of what seems as impartial media and news reporting is in fact generated and/or paid for by those who desire and can afford to influence opinion. These people are paying for network time, and their influence upon the networks, media/press, is indeed of financial importance.
We citizens have been denied due process. Systematically punished, even slandered or murdered, portrayed as "unpatriotic", brave people like Cynthia carry on. No, she won't win in Nov. but we must show numbers. VOTE!
Welcome friends, and thanks, Cynthia for your courage and dedication. Cynthia and her staff work tirelessly in the name of justice. While other "career" politicians of both isles flip-flop issues and compromise their integrity, succumbing to pressures economic or theological, Cynthia is brave. Standing up for truth, asking for documented explanation and accountability from our elected officials. This is of course uncomfortable, unpopular among those who may be guilty.
Those evil fucks that control the votes will Not let this woman win the election unless she is opposite of what she speaks. I hate to say that shit, but its true. If she wins they will try and murder her. Please dont reply to me with no bullshit comment, cause what I am saying is so fukkin true.
This is perfect. America wants it's first black president and it's first female president. So combine them and you have her. What a wonderful person she is. And coming from a white chick from central Ga, she would have my vote!!
Be sure to write Cynthia McKinney in. Georgia makes it very difficult for third parties to get on the ballot.
Write ins will count towards the 5% she needs to get funding to make the Green Party competitive nationally. It's a practical goal that may lead to real change.
I know what you mean. Neither she or Ron Paul get nearly the publicity that the others get (and honestly I think Hillary blows worse than her husband did and we won't even get into how much I loathe McCain)
Ron Paul remains Republican and is not running for president this November.
Building a third party creates a vehicle outside of the current major parties so that one is no longer limited by party leadership who may block dissent within a party.
And GA sucks too. I think everyone here wants that idiot McCain in. OMG, has anyone here ever heard him speak? My dad mentioned today that Bill Clinton sounds more educated than both Bush bastards and Mccain. He is right about that. When Cynthia speaks I have to get out a dictionary!! I wish she was a lawyer I would hire her for my case!
Cynthia McKinney was a high school and later a College professor. Very intelligent with a background in foreign affairs and never went to law school per se.
Diplomatic Fellow, Spelman College in Atlanta, 1984
Political Science Professor, Clark Atlanta University
Political Science Professor, Agnes Scott College
It's nice to see an intelligent non lawyer in politics who previously devoted herself to a career as a teacher.
My dad knew her and said she was the sweetest person in the world. He worked for GSP in Atlanta and she used to come to the shop and he said she always had a smile on her face and so nice. I think what they did to her with that whole ID thing was just racist. Everyone knew her. But I think they did that because she is a powerful black woman. She shoulda kicked that cop's ass for that (I was so hoping too hehe)
leave it to a woman to clean the house. it is the crown/empire who is leading this road to hell for the american people for the sun never to set on the "royal" empire. bring it home cynthia. heal our beautiful land which many are out to destroy in revenge for our throwing out england. green it is all the way. now lets hope the voting is not rigged again as bush's coup d`tat. tesla free energy which is used for decades now, bring it out now for all.

A former 6 term congressperson running for president not get media coverage so potential voters can be informed! Think about why the media didn't give you this information.
I wonder how many people are actually informed of the political and corporate backgrounds of the appointments Obama is making.
RunCynthiaRun 3 years ago
the media determines who the "frontrunners" are, and then blacklists everyone else or paints them in a negative light.

JakeLL 3 years ago
5% of the vote means a nationally funded political party. In addition some state parties will gain ballot access.
That funding would cover the expenses for TV and media outreach in 2012. That's how the funding works unfortunately most people do not know how Federal Party funding works in the U.S.A.
In addition it takes lots of individual donors and it's why corporate funded candidates are all most people see because CEOs give more.

mlc2005 3 years ago
5% of the vote would make a third viable party. That's the threshold for Federal funding for a national political party.
I dearly wish people knew our Federal Election Laws.
BTW add Obama's vote for FISA and the Bailout as reasons why voting for him gets you similar policies to the Republicans. Personally "lesser evilism" isn't viable. The public is hurt either way. 5% can change that.
RunCynthiaRun 3 years ago
This is a pathetic comment. Obama is going to win and it's for your own good, even if you don't realize it. People supporting Mccain or going against Obama are like babies being taken to the doctor for a shot. They kick and scream but in the end it's to save your own but from your own ignorance.
martele85 3 years ago
I suggest you look at Obama's voting record. Facts give you more info than flowery speeches. If anything the debates reveal how marginal the differences are.
RunCynthiaRun 3 years ago
I've looked at both. Mccain's voting record makes him all but untrustworthy. He's wish-washy, he flip-flops like a fish, he favors big companies and believe the government's only involvement in this country should be enforcing legislation based on religion. Which is against the constitution.
Obama's record is thin and has a blotch or two, but he's clearly the more solid candidate because his record shows consistency, and competence, two things lacking in Mccain's record.
martele85 3 years ago
On top of that, Obama's record shows that he's capable of compromise and progression. He initially opposed federal rights for gays but thankfully he flip-flopped on that and now believes that gays SHOULD have the same federal rights as married couples.
martele85 3 years ago
Obama voted for wire-tapping from private companies, that says alot about him
MUN7001 3 years ago
What else do you know about his voting record? And how much do you know about Mccain's? Have you given both candidates a fair chance or do you only know republican talking points?
martele85 3 years ago
I think i've given both candidates a pretty fair chance. Considering that I keep hearing about both of them on the news. However, this candidate seems to respect the people , and tends to focus on problems that are readily ignored by the two major parties. Probably cause the two major parties would lose financing from the big companies. I'd rather vote for someone that actually cares about the people. Sorry if thats hurts your feelings.
MUN7001 3 years ago
Nobody's feelings are hurt lol. Yours will be on election day, if you've seen the electoral map at all lately you know Mccain is fighting an uphill battle, hence his pulling out of Michigan. Anywho, considering how Mccain voted with GEORGE W BUSH I think that tells you all you need to know about his judgment and who he cares about. Mccain cares about the wealthy and big corporations. The only one who's feelings are going to be hurt will be you on election day. See ya at the polls!*wink*
martele85 3 years ago
dog, I'll say it again, I dont care if she wins or not, the point of me voting for her is to increase the support for the party and their values, her values reflect my own, im not out for the popularity contest and I know alot of people are, possibly you too, since you keep mentioning McCain wheen there are more parties involved, or did you not watch this video, or did you not know that a party gets government funding when it gets a certain amount of votes lol

JohnPurvis 3 years ago
"Baggage" created by the corporate media.
RunCynthiaRun 3 years ago
Citizens put candidates on the ballot. Do you request that those citizens "drop out?"
Citizens also make their voting choices. Do you suggest coercive tactics to limit their choices by asking the candidates that the citizenry has put on the ballot, to drop out?
Do you what that kind of gov't is called?
Watch American Blackout to see how elections are manipulated. It isn't the candidates that cause that result that's for sure.

whats the point? I just found out 2 day who she was, she is not even in contention, what is the point this campaign?
CJayThaReal 3 years ago
that would be a VERY LONG post (it's been posted elsewhere).
RunCynthiaRun 3 years ago
In about 40 out of 50 states MOST votes for a major party candidate are wasted since the Electoral College decides the election.
Voting for Obama in a state that McCain wins, counts for ZERO for Obam whereas the votes for McKinney count towards her 5% total.
Votes for Obama over the threshold to win the electoral votes of that state are also wasted. Obama wins all the electoral votes of a state whether he wins by 1 or a million. If some of those votes were for McKinney they'd count for 5%.
RunCynthiaRun 3 years ago
In short, McKinney can create a Nationally Funded Viable Political Party with all the otherwise wasted votes for Obama.
It's very sad that you are not taught US Election Law in school or in the media. Keeping people ignorant is what perpetuates the power structure.
McKinney can WIN the 5% and then she and/or the Green Party would be in contention in the next election and elect hundreds of people to local office in the meantime.
That's CONTENTION. That's the FACTS they don't tell you.
