  • That album was the closest we'll ever get to a Zeppelin reunion, I actually really dig it.

  • AWESOME +.+

  • This son would have been more interesting if it was done with acoustical instruments. It's a little too repetitive for me.

  • Comment removed

  • the studio version has an acoustic track detectable mainly when listening with headphones, and is much more mellow. of course i saw screw those who want it bought! torrent it or something. it's much better.

  • @pectinmania

You're probably right - I haven't listened to the CD in many years. I didn't care for this particular CD because I found its lyrical proselytic undertones tiresome and annoying.

  • And Page's symbol kicks ass over Prince's! ;-)

  • dit,is,het,niet,het,heet,in,the,light,ofzo,wel

  • Zep is Zep. Period. Head held high, these guys are at the top old Mount Rockinshire or wherever it is. I want to live there

  • @1959billyshears i think u mean their at the top of the "black mountainside" but then agian, people wouldnt really get what u meant had u said that

  • Page is the most versatile guitarist I've ever heard.

    He could play any style!

  • Rosetta West - Morning Star. check it out if you can. I think fans of this might like it.

  • awesome drummer great song

  • I seen both No Quarter in 95 and Walking Through Clarksdale in 98,.. both in Vancouver,.......... BRILLIANT,.... AWESOME..... SUPERIOR,.... They are on another LEVEL ,... far and above all others,..!!!!!

  • I seen both No Quarter in 95 and Walking Through Clarksdale in 98,.. both in Vancouver,.......... BRILLIANTY,.... AWESOME..... SUPERIOR,.... They are on another LEVEL ,... far and above all others,..!!!!!

  • a really good song

  • I saw Page & Plant in 1995 and '98 and they never sounded better, both tours were electric and to me they had not lost a step from when I saw them in '75 and '77. very professional and the crowd was very responsive and on there feet for much of the 2 1/2 hour show...Incredible.

  • Wow life is worth living! Music like this still exists!!!!!

    Peace, Love & Understanding <3

  • Unfortunately, the general public was ho-hum about all this. Damn hipsters!

  • Havent lost a beat after Zeppelin.

  • That voice is just mint!

  • a GREAT MUSIC, FROM TWO AMAZING MUSICANS...

  • absolutely brilliant. best piece of work since the golden days of houses of the holy etc.

  • is that Michael Lee on drums? looks a little like Jason Bonnham

  • @williestyle35 it's lee

  • Why did they not invite JPJ to tour with them? We're they not friends anymore?

  • nice bass :O

  • Back in 98 at the show I attended, this was really the only song from Walking into Clarksdale they performed live that recieved a fairly positive reaction from the mostly Led Zeppelin starved audience. "Most high", the supposed centerpiece of the album actually got the most luke warm reception of the set with the other one (cant remember the name right now) fairing just a little better. Good song though, one of the better ones off that album for sure.

  • Check out "riff" by BLARFARGINBLAH! Wait, I no speak english?

  • I was going to say Jimmy should get down the gym but he could just buy one. :)

  • jimmy page... being the master of perfection may have something to do with plant's prowess.....

  • Such a GREAT song. I've got great admiration for all the work that Robert's done since then, but jeez, it would be great if he'd write with Pagey more often.

  • I love this song!

  • Is jason drumming on this?

  • @10ccalanarkush Nope, that's the late, great Michael Lee.

  • I envy every single person who attended that show!!

  • I find it so amusing when folks try to label Zep and more specifically Page/Plant as nothing more than plagariarizers. They are not given the proper credit or recognition for vast amount of original material they've written. Up there with the best songwriting duos as far as I'm concerned.

  • @inthroughtheoutdoor1

    *plagiarizers

  • "In the night the light of oneness. And the one light guides you home and the keeper turns his cards alone"

"From this shore my memory wanders and I dance upon the sea. Can I dance with you upon the sea? I love your brown-eyed madness and your beauty was exposed and now your memory is clinging to my clothes." Beautiful.

  • @inthroughtheoutdoor1 - Just amazing talents, both of them. Jimmy's playing is unrivalled and Plant writes the most incredible lyrics

  • Vintage Page & plant.

  • @Kashmir0109 robert plant sing = ultimate win.

  • You're a pusscake...

  • great song, these two have lost very little of what made them so great over the years

  • Had JPJ been involved, Walking Into Clarksdale could easily have been Led Zeppelin IX, it's a phenomenal album.

  • @pgm06uk Agreed. Would have been even better without Albini's murky production, too.

  • @pgm06uk I wholeheartedly agree. I don't know what people were expecting...more Zeppelin versions after Unledded? They did what I hoped they would do; write all new material. To show how well it stands up, just listen to the version "Please Read The Letter" Plant did with Allison Krauss. Haunting.

  • @pgm06uk It is. Such a shame that they didn't continue working together after that, Page and Plant. Lord, they sounded good in those days, on record and on stage. Bold new stuff it was.

  • @pgm06uk did you know it was produced by Steve Albini?

  • @pgm06uk True enough, but the kids they ended up using made for a phenomenal rhythm section. I think Between them and Albini's production they got a nice jolt of youthful energy that made the album a lot more special than the 1st/MTV driven reunion thing turned out to be.

  • @pgm06uk dont u mean led zeppelin V? not to be a stickler

  • why arent these guys still together making more music, everytime they come together they make something great like this!

and have you seen pics of page from the o2 gig, he was smiling all the time.

  • thanx a lot LEVIS for sticking your commercial nose into this video

  • this song brings out the not-so-humble absence of John Bonham........................................this could be have been so much like Night Flight, all happy and drum-bum thunderous!

  • Ohh such a mean groove that conjures up pure joy...and so I keep turning my cards alone...

  • awesome see through bass

  • that voice is UNMISTAKABLE

  • Comment removed

  • @lancetop that guitar too is UNMISTAKABLE ;)

  • Holy shit, that's great.

  • which album is this from?

  • walking into clarksdale 1998

  • this was my favorite tune off of the C.D.

  • This was my favorite off the CD, too

    =D

  • when was this aired?

  • I thought they were much better in 1994/95 but this album was pretty good.

  • Comment removed

  • late 90s

  • Good one-any idea of what year they did

this song-never saw this one before. Thanks for uploading it!

  • Funny...i remember when Michael Lee was alive a lot of people on these P/P videos around youtube were saying that he was crap, and they should have gotten Bonzo Jr.

Now that he passed everyone is like "aw man, thats a drag, he was so good"

  • I agree. Many people said he sucked but I tought he did a good job all the way and now Michael is gone and that sucks....

I think the freinds Keith Moon and John Bonham are jaming with Michael right now :)

    were ever they are......

  • what year was this?

  • 1998

  • I always thought Michael was an outstanding drummer..he blew my mind...i loved these days...

  • lol I think people said that out of over-respect for Bonham. Nobody thought badly of Michael they were just sensitive about someone filling Bonhams shoes. No matter how skilled or deserving Micheal was he could never true respect from Zeppelin fans until after his death, pretty strange.

  • he could never obtain* true respect

  • A lot of truth in what you just said

  • Might be true however I never felt that way. I would tell everybody,"Michael Lee is a bad ass drummer! The best one Page or Plant has had since Led Zeppelin." I still say it. First time I saw him in Page and Plant I knew he was good and never said "Ah! Bonham is better!" Even if Bonham was. But Michael Lee was a great drummer in his own right and definitely deserves more credit. I personally think he drummed better than Jason Bonham but that's just me.

  • yeeees, I love him. He is most humble drummer

on the planet. He is still smilin´ and really plays for all around, not only get better his reputation.

He is really model of humble human character.

It´s behind the words. I´m not only concetratin´on technique, but the music as a whole. That´s what is all about - real transcendentin´, real givin´more than any drum effort

  • Extraordinário!O que era ótimo ficou melhor!Muuuuiiito phoda!

  • Oh man these guys will still be Rocking in their 80's!!!This is a True Gem,thanks for Posting!!!

  • RIP Michael Lee

    :(

  • Agreed. He was a rock solid drummer.

  • Damn he was a fantastic drummer...what did he die from?

  • TV adds ten pounds...if Page ripped off his shirt he'd be super buff! Plant could kill a dragon with his bare hands...

  • Zeppelin is touring again without Plant. I don't get what Plants prob is. A bit to much on his high horse, as if he is too good for that. It's great that they tour with Myles Kennedy, but it should NOT be called Led Zeppelin. If they put out some originals under a different name that would be awsome. If they just do Zep songs under Led Zeppelin, that would be really lame.

  • Page and Plant had a great drummer and bassist for this album and tour. Great drum fills on this song. I saw them at Jones Beach and it was a great concert.

  • I love you Mr.Plant!

  • Amazing how great his voice still sounds after all these years,BRAVO!!!!

  • it would be much better with a guitar solo... but is good

  • Comment removed

  • walking in 2 clarksdale was a great fn cd

  • you said it. I'd put this album on repeat before almost every other album from the 90s.

  • I wish this lineup had gone on under the moniker "Page & Plant". "Walking into Clarksdale" had it´s weak spots, but also unforgettable tracks like Upon A Golden Horse, Burning Up, and especially When The World Was Young, Please Read The Letter and Blue Train.

  • amen... clarksdale's pretty fricken' sick!

  • When The World Was Young one of my faves When I Was A Child is an underrated tune

  • thays good

  • ... When Page & Plant play together ... it's ALWAYS MAGIC!!! ... bring us a LZ World tour boyz ... PLEASE OH PLEASE OH PLEASE~~!!!

  • PLEASE MUSIC GODS AT LEAST TOUR THE USA

  • whos the bassist? thats not john paul jones is it?

  • Charlie Jones - no relation

  • ooh, i couldnt see the face clearly, but from a distance it kinda resembles him just a little bit

  • this is one of good songs on their studio album... good surprise to see the level of energy and Plant's voice is better than on the album. Tight but loose ;-) but where is JPJ?

  • crying in his house

  • lol hahaha

  • Parking the car

  • hahaha parking the car? hahahaha no, he is buying a stairway to heaven hahaha

  • great album, walking into clarksdale. Great sound

  • not too many can come back at this age and still be great! i love the song. Yes, great album

  • superior, Buonarroti couldn't have cut it better himself

if that was me on stage, seems like it would be hard to hold still

i'd fall out like james used to do

  • You can bet your ass any true Zep fan would have to have this C.D. in their collection !

  • walking in to clarksdale was pure beauty....i can't believe nobody bought it

  • it wasen't a HUGE success but it did reach #4 in the US and #6 in the UK and not many bands can say that

  • Sick as Fuck!

  • hi!

in which album can you find this great song?

  • Walking into Clarksdale PAGE/PLANT

The single "Most High" was awarded a Grammy Award for Best Hard Rock Performance in 1999.

My 3 Favs from the album

    Shining in the Light" (Page/Plant/Jones/Lee) -- 4:01

"When the World Was Young" (Page/Plant/Jones/Lee) -- 6:13

    When I Was a Child" (Page/Plant/Jones/Lee) -- 5:45

  • hmmm, i downloaded the the album but the songs where all very bad quality and there where no other one to download. have to check for more. such a great song

  • This is so tweek'd

  • el bajista tiene un bajo transparente....

que viola la de jimmy por favor!!!!!!

  • the first time i heard this i got a weird warm feeling.... i think its the amazing combo of Plant's voice and Page's guitar

  • What you do in the dark will be brought into the light.

  • I like songs with much light!;) (in the light, shining in the light)

  • This song so needs a section for a guitar solo.

  • i always thought this was a great song

  • simply awesome. is this performance available on any of jools dvds?

  • harry lee :D

  • What concert is this? Can I find a full video of this? Thanks for posting.

  • this was not a concert. it was a performance on jools. i think they did two songs.

  • They look fine. It's called getting old. What do u expect? If u want a better example of drugs destroying looks, look at Keith Richards. He has looked like he is in his 70s and 80s for over almost 20 years.

  • I'd say they are the perfect reason TO live your life by that. These men are Gods haha

  • I got to see this concert "Walking into Clarksdale"

It was amazing to see Page & Plant together again!

    Peace

  • thanks for the clip!

  • could have used the song arrangement skills of Mr. Jones. Needs a 3rd part and a short guitar solo, and to not repeat the chorus as many times. other than that, nice.

  • robert plant is in this song really the man!

  • These guys are true legends! John Paul sat this out, just Plant & Page tour a few years back. They still have it! They should get Jones back & do some new stuff, Page could lose a few pounds. But he looks alot better that 77~83 !

  • when was this?

  • Had to be '98 when this song came out. I love the heavy drone of the top E string on Jimmy's guitar. It almost sounds tuned down.

  • amen

  • the old men still have some energy!

  • this a grat song from walking into clarcksdale, on this program they played "Burning up" too

  • they should have played 'the train kept a rolling' straight after this it would've been so cool !!!!

  • when was this

  • I don´t know . It lacks something. Why isn´t John Paul Jones with them?

  • he hasn't died

  • Lol, why would you think he was dead?

John Bonham was the one who died

  • No you Wanker

  • the royal orleans which is now the blind guitar player and the :{ absinthe jesus

    arrrrgh

  • Cool! I just wish Pagey had longer hair lol!

  • this song reminds me of ramble on

  • There is some excellent stuff on Clarksdale. I'm not a big fan of the production on it, but some of the songs are excellent. Blue Train comes to mind.

  • Great performance! I don't think I've never seen this live before, but I love this song. Definitely in my top 5 from the album :) Is that Charlie Jones on the bass? Looks like his bass, but doesn't look like his hair! And I always thought had the bass higher than that.

  • It's not the same without the acoustic guitar...

  • Music sure has gone downhill. The reuninon, Clarksdale album was as good as the late, weaker Led Zeppelin albums, but not as good as classic LZ. That being said, it dominated pretty much everything else that came out that year. New bands don't come anywhere close to Zep.

  • Page and Plant most definetly had their shit together for this recording.

  • Page me parece estar melhor q antes cra heheh..incrivel

  • Great song, I saw these guys live. One of the best shows I've ever seen.

  • yeah...I saw this on Concert. Very awesome in my opinion.

Wasnt there another performance by them?? And could you possibly upload it?

  • its a good song. would be a really great song in the time bonham was alive and plant had voice.

  • This is really a great song, all of the songs on the Walking into Clarksdale are very good, every Zep fan should have this one. I totally believe this is the direction Led Zeppelin would of went in if the lovely Bonham was alive.

  • I feel the same way, this was an incredible album...

  • genial...jimmy page es lo maximo number1
