Onikakushi (the first arc) is so sad... Rena and Mion only wanted to help Keiichi the whole time, but he was so delusional from the syndrome that he believed they were trying to kill him, so he ends up beating them to death... for no reason. And even though he starts yelling at them all the time and avoiding them, they still try to help him until the very end...

One misconception that bugs me about Rena is how she is always shown with a bloody cleaver like she kills a ton of people. She only killed two people, in reality, and only in that one arc. Plus, they make it look like she enjoys it...she really didn't.

But each arc gives you little hints to the mystery. Season 2 explains the reasons behind everything happening in season 1. It is definately worth watching!

The original and main Dear Yous are written in the key of D Flat Major while Cry is written in C Minor. Either way, Cry's the only version I know how to play on the violin.

I don't really have perfect pitch. I was just messing around on my piano and violin trying to learn both the original version and "Cry" by ear when I had notice Cry was written in the key of C Minor (i really wanna say it's written in the key of G minor but meh).

I also wanna say Cry's in C minor because C minor is the key of "Declaring love and yet, angst over unhappy love. Obscure and sad".

Rena's obscure because well dammit who spends their days in a trash dump looking for treasure besides Locke Cole from FInal Fantasy 6? And she does have a tragic backstory with her family.

Reading the lyrics of "Cry" gives you the sense this is a love song to K1.
