Yes, the Korean version is better but the American version is sexier! My vote is for the sexier version but I watch all versions without discrimination. My preference is for a sexy BoA vs her looking like a 16 year old skateboarder. Her label's marketing department presciently understood the need of a different version to penetrate the American market.

Agreed, although the intro is a catchup for the majority of Americans who have never heard of her. (this video is to aid her US debut - well it was supposed to...)
1. The dancers couldn't keep up with BoA so she had to come down to their level.
2. They have tried to make her look sexy by US standards - i.e. either a trailer park or a high class prostitute.
3. The US distributors didn't want to show up too badly western stars who can barely sing let alone dance for fear that the US music scene would be wiped out by Asian imports (esp. BoA).
Thank goodness they ditched this video. Poor BoA she has to put up with a lot of crap.
I've seen the making of this now, the dancers were fine, she did some great dancing, but they cut out all the good bits. I think the director was unsuitable, she was a rather tough looking American woman who has probably spent a lifetime trying to get away from being stereotyped as a girl and so could not bring herself to make the kind of girly video that would play on BoA's strengths of natural beauty and dance ability (not that she has any weaknesses).
I just think Diane Martel was also trying her best to make a good mv for BoA. Though I found it rather substandard with the lousy graphics (is it me or somehow the backdrop uses seem really lousy that it almost looked like the mv was made with technology from a couple of years back)
perhaps she was trying too hard to comprise the asian aspects with the fact that it is a US market. this mv would work for BoA (cause it IS BoA!), but put in another american artist and it will look just horrible.
Yeah, totally agree. It shows how important it is not to dither - or you end up with the worst of all worlds. I just don't think this video knows what it wants to be. It tries to be eveything to all people and comes close to ending up as nothing to anyone - although obviously BoA could save any video she was in.

2. They have tried to make her look sexy by US standards - i.e. either a trailer park or a high class prostitute.
3. The US distributors didn't want to show up too badly western stars who can barely sing let alone dance for fear that the US music scene would be wiped out by Asian imports (esp. BoA).
Thank goodness they ditched this video. Poor BoA she has to put up with a lot of crap.

I've seen the making of this now, the dancers were fine, she did some great dancing, but they cut out all the good bits. I think the director was unsuitable, she was a rather tough looking American woman who has probably spent a lifetime trying to get away from being stereotyped as a girl and so could not bring herself to make the kind of girly video that would play on BoA's strengths of natural beauty and dance ability (not that she has any weaknesses).

I just think Diane Martel was also trying her best to make a good mv for BoA. Though I found it rather substandard with the lousy graphics (is it me or somehow the backdrop uses seem really lousy that it almost looked like the mv was made with technology from a couple of years back)
perhaps she was trying too hard to comprise the asian aspects with the fact that it is a US market. this mv would work for BoA (cause it IS BoA!), but put in another american artist and it will look just horrible.

Yeah, totally agree. It shows how important it is not to dither - or you end up with the worst of all worlds. I just don't think this video knows what it wants to be. It tries to be eveything to all people and comes close to ending up as nothing to anyone - although obviously BoA could save any video she was in.

Though the original version is cliché, it's far better then this! (but then again ANYTHING is.)
This video gives BoA no credit at all, it shows her as a 'wannabe'.
In the original though- she looks like she actually knows what she's doing, instead of being told what to do.

korean version is bettterrr~~wayyy better. This just ruined the style of the dance, and half of the steps and lyrics didn't even go with the actual music, and there was too much computer effect. They over did it, its just turned out to be crap.

In all honesty I think this music video is pretty worthless chuck it away in some forbidden storage never seen again by human eyes there's no effort put in this junk of crap whom ever created this has no skill at all the dance moves a pretty limited poor, poor boa she's not even In game mode she's not even able to bring her full capabilities I much prefer the other video it's not so showy and cheap as this video appears.
