One of the things this clip confirms is how great they were live -- perhaps not in the sense of stage antics, but just sheer musicality. As I said below in another comment, I used to see them all the time. I thought maybe I was viewing them through the rosy glow of nostalgia, but this clip confirms that they sounded as good as I remembered. They were miles ahead of any of the other Toronto bands at the time.
I Just got this info from a M+M mailing list I subscribed to:
We are about to release the 25th anniversary CD reissue of 'Danseparc' on the 25th of June, which includes the original 12" dance remix and two other bonus tracks.
The second song "Paint by number heart" is a classic.
The band folded shortly after this gig and reformed as a 4-piece. Daniel Lanois (U2/Peter Gabriel) went on to produce the next 3 albums (my favourites)
By 1983 they became a duo and changed the name to "M+M"
an odd genre of music, , more art project than band

Yup. I used to see this band all the time in Toronto in 1978-79, and could never take my eyes off her.
Having said that, Andy Haas was the coolest member of the Muffins.
