  • I love your viewpoint :) I agree making and growing things is a great way to sustain our future.

Production on demand rather than flooding the world with unused objects. Here's to a future of smaller companies creating on demand rather than larger companies controlling the future. Here's to us all solving this pressing problem.

  • @PAWThomas Thank you so much!

The lack of (positive?) response to this video has made me feel that such topics are rather unpopular with my viewers, and it makes me second-guess my posting on such topics at all. However, this is what has been occupying my mind most often in the past year, so I am very grateful for your comment. : ]

  • Thumbs up to this posting! I'm guilty of relying on our consumer status, granted, but my partner & I do try to illiminate stuff where we can. We build & ride our own bicycles, brew our own beer, unfortunately we can't garden in our current location but we try to buy local organic as much as possible and we do things like growing our own sprouts, baking our own bread, etc. Every little thing adds up. It's not about "being american" it's about being self-sustaining.

  • @Popeslave Wow, that's awesome!

I am by no means not guilty - I think it must be extremely rare to find those who are not!

All of this has really been quite new to me. My perspective on the world has changed dramatically over the past two years, and I'm trying to find the best place for me in all of it. It's excellent that you've built your own bikes and brew your own beer! I've only just started to learn how to cook and bake "from scratch" this year. It takes time, but also persistence!

  • @omgoneleven I think there's a necissary balance. I cooked & baked a lot even before becoming more self-aware about my impact on the earth. Enjoy! As a kid I dreamed about moving into the middle of nowhere and "living off the land", but as an adult who appreciates a lot of things about living in a city, and also realizes there is very little "middle of nowhere" space left, I don't see that sort of private utopia in my future. We tried to compost & that didn't go well. Hopefully someday though!
