  • Fong is a great potter. Don't feel intimidated. He's also a great teacher. Loosen up and learn from him!

    Chris

  • This is my art professor at my university. I am taking beginning ceramics and I had no clue that he was this popular. This makes me look at him in a different light. I'm now intimidated.

  • Fong is a true Master! It is a real pleasure to watch him work!

  • nice...

  • I chose Fong Choo for my artist to get "inspiration" from in my ceramics class sophomore year. We had to pick a modern artist to model after, and I made small teapots, but not on the wheel, because I sucked at the wheel and I'm still not that good.

I remember watching this video then.

That was two years ago, probably about the same time that it was posted.

  • Hey Fong how are you? Really enjoyed the videos. Becky

  • Fong;

You have inspired me to make a series of teapots.

thank you for the great demos.

  • vidio did not play fully today or yesterday I tried all vidios and they failed

  • Get's me to thinking about having a go at it again this winter. Stay in there, eh?

  • You have talent as an instructor. You really should consider making some instructional DVD's. Get a Mac with imovie, and your all set. I would pay $20.00 or $30.00 for a DVD that cost you $1.00 and takes 20 or 30 minutes to burn, label, pack and ship!

  • That's what I did. Fong didn't make the video, it's part of the Artists in Residence video series. search for canderso for other clips I've uploaded

  • Greatly looking forward to it. Subscribing now and hoping you show more of the rest of the artists as well :-)

  • If you like watching amazing throwing technique, check out Jane Hockensmith-Reich

  • I found her "teeny" homepage by googling, but is she here on YouTube as well? If not, can you convince her to "show off" a little?

I really liked her pieces! That blue glaze! BEAUTIFUL! and the color of her clay unglazed is also very nice. I also like her shapes, flowing.

    Thanks for the tip!

  • Thanks so much! This was really interesting. Have you got more footage of the rest of the process?

Very nicely filmed, also. You zoom in when needed, but show the "whole picture".

I just went WOW!!! when he pulled and shaped that form! That was FAST!

  • I just uploaded Vol.2. Hope you enjoy it!
