  • yes it is gyrfalcon are very famous in the arab countries

  • nice

  • that was one harsh impact, dinner well deserved

  • look how it shoots back to bustard

  • look carefully in the time 1.59amazing

  • Damn, he hit the ground hard and knocked himself silly.

  • This is a Gyrfalcon, a CITES Schedule I "Endangered" species, used by an Arab to wipe out a Houbara, which is also a Schedule I "Endangered" species. Not ethical. The Houbara are being bred, but not in sufficient numbers to replace thousands of Houbara that are slaughtered every year. The breeders themselves admit the species will soon go extinct as a wild bird, very soon. This is a slaughter. Nick Fox is an infamous falcon smuggler, who makes $10,000,000+ USD every year laundering falcons.

  • Brutal falcon.

  • That had to hurt. The Gyr must be one tough bird.

  • gyr falcon can live in that hot enviroment of middle eastern region as you can see on this video? ?

  • that bird got trucked

  • that bird got trucked by the gyr

is the falcon ok he got nocked pretty hard that is one exciteable bird

  • WOW the stoop almost killed the Gyr!!!! take a look at min. 1:58 he BOUNCES off the ground after the stoop!

  • P.s. Who are you to tell some random person what they should do with the wildlife anyway. Like posting it on Youtube is gonna make any difference.

  • first off all look at the name of the video

    "Gyrfalcon"

Second if your so worried about the Houbaras why dont you do something about it?

They raise thousands of them and release them into the desert. Look it up.

Third I doubt they drugged that bird.

That bird is probably just a first year bird over shot its stoop and hit the ground.

  • Great Video. If these people want to continue hunting Houbaras then they should take their wealth that comes from the westerners and start a Houbaras Unlimited program like we did with ducks.

They have enough money to make manmade lakes and import ducks to fly their birds. They are already sking over there in the desert in cooled hangers. People need to learn from their mistakes the way we did with passenger pigeons. Our peregrines made a comeback.

  • isnt this a saker falcon?

  • why is he hunting for houbaras, they are on the brink of extinction

  • Oh, gives me chills! Gyrs are the best.

  • That Gyr must have been druged.:( not safe for the bird

  • @oddfire1110 You're kidding, right?

  • No wonder Houbara (or is this a McQueen's) is threatened with extinction when those that should know better insist on decimating its population in this way. Houbaras are not sustainable sport, so leave them alone!

  • Only a dolt would melodramatically describe that as "decimating." There are sportsman's rules, if a Houbara out maneuvrrs a falcon then it is honored and not reflushed. Gyrfalcons or any derivative of, aren't exactly corner store items in the desert, either.

  • Or that's what you think it should be like, fact is Houbaras are in steep decline and overhunting (they're very much prized by rich foreign visitors for example) is the main reason.

  • ow my god

  • Crazy video! Shake, rattle, and roll! That poor Gyr must have been doing Mach2 when it hit that Houbara with NO recovery air left! Guess it had had enough of the tail chase and left the Houbara to think it was safe while it gained pitch. Houbara was sure ground hugging hoping the falcon wouldn't risk a stoop...guess it was wrong! Was there any bones NOT broken in the Houbara????

Best stoop I have seen yet...crazy gyr almost killed itself!!

  • Awesome video

  • Gyrfalcons are my fav, beautiful

  • amazing...yesterday my gyr saker female does something like this at the pheasant

  • superrr !!!!

  • Excuse me!!

But a gyrfalcon in a semiarid enviroment??

I think its a saker falcon.

Gyrfalcons are northern taiga falcons . am i wrong??

  • The falcon sitting on the houbara is deffenitly a gyrfalcon.

  • he bought the falcon (he is a falconer) duh. He brought it there.

  • La mayoria de los cetreros usan aves producido en cautividad, independiente de la disponibilidad de las rapaces nativas.

  • @hopploponeus Gyrs can adapt quite easily. In fact, gyrs are considered a bery valuable bird in middle eastern falconry. You should read Dr. Nick Fox's work, he talks all about how they were using gyrs.

  • @hopploponeus

Gyrs are capable of crossbreeding with other falcon species. From what I understand, Gyr-saker cross-breeds in captivity are fairly common so you might want to check as to where this falcon originated from.

  • @hopploponeus

shame that people know nothing about falconry and still try to be smartass..

  • @FatherOfSin haha i know its an old post but i can't help it *thumbs up*

  • @ADfalcons :)

  • fucking awesome

  • That was a kamikaze attack!!! Incredible.

  • Wow! Surprised she didnt knock herself out!!! :)
