  • And I wont forget your face. A very powerful moment

  • EXCELENTE LIBRO! si tienen oportunidad leanlo, no se arrepentirán

  • She is not immune, she wasn't afraid by the blindness. That's how she didn't get infected.

  • @kyuubizone umm but i started the book and the first guy that was infected didn't knew it was an illness, so he wasn't afraid of it before, explain that to me please.

  • @nckjoswifey114 It's a matter of perception, The zero subject maybe was afraid of how his life would be if he gone blind, in the book we don't see that but along the book the wife was very brave for her husband and the others. So she wasn't afraid from the illness, she couldn't.

  • i haven't seen the movie, but the book is amazing.

  • shit happens

  • really good trailer.... I like this one. thanks for that.

  • puedes bajar la peli ?

    por favor!

  • Fuck this kind of movies :)

  • MY BESSSTTY MITCHELL NYE IS IN HERE , lmfao at 1:46 !

  • Comment removed

  • CREPPY MOVIE!

  • I know the song at the end is surface of the sun but this version sounds a lil different than John Murphys... unless im wrong?

  • Comment removed

  • Comment removed

  • the song (masterpiece): John Murphy - The Surface Of The Sun (sunshine)

  • I'm sorry it's 1:54 not 1:44...

    Anyone knows?

  • Controversial movie and julianne moore is just great!

DOES ANYONE knows the name of the song that starts at 1:44 seconds?

  • Well, my Theory and Criticism of Film class assigned this...it doesn't look that great, but this is the last week of classes, and I figure I owe it to at least give the movie a shot.

  • Eh, not the best movie ever, but not the worst either. At worst it boring in parts, and (strangely) at best, it was interesting to watch.

I got a Lord Of The Flies vibe from the movie, only the people are in an abandoned ward with guards around the parimeter instead of an island, and there are women among them.

  • i'm sorry, this movie sucked.

  • y do dey rape da girls i didnt c dat part

  • cuz the "bad" blinds were asked to share the food with the "good" blinds so they ask them to bring them their women

  • very powerful movie julianne moore has been overlooked and deserves an award excellent direction and a lesson to be learned

  • please, does someone now the trailer music at the end?

  • film meraviglioso..

  • the book is amazing, and elegantly written, the movie looks pretty good.

  • agreed

    i just finished it yesturday

i loved it and im not a big reader

  • yeah the book is deeper, not in details but in analysing the mind of the characters

  • Those who have not yet had the pleasure of reading or watching the movie never discover how a work can touch even the most insensitive to show how we become free when bestial beings look the other evaluator. Showing pq become so inhuman.

The image of emotional Saramago and Fernando happy to see that fulfill the mission of giving life to characters that master is a unique beauty.

This parable is so beautiful and just see his greatness. grandiosidade.

  • Ummm, what?

  • whats the trailer music at the end of the trailer

  • I love movies in which actors can actually... um how should i say it, ACT.

This movie is going down as one of my favs

  • oh yeah

  • awsum movie.... gfnsjbs!!!!!!

  • this book actually had a good ending i should read the sequel

  • exelente pelicula

  • good one, but its sad, its about blind people and blind people cant see it

  • Does everyone regain thier sight in the end? I can't remember if it's only the chinease guy or all the people in the house. Don't they say in the narration at the end : And they all regained their sight one by one?

  • Yes the whole city regains their sight. One by one, not all at the same time.

  • Ya okay thats what I though. I wans't to sure anymore. Thanks :)

  • ohh, thank you for ruining the thrill, dude.

at least you could type SPOILER before you tell the punchline...

and yea, thanks for the question as well.

you should take other ppl in consideration, tards.

  • maybe you shouldnt read the comments of the video, douchebag.

  • why can't he read the comments? i don't understand. It's a trailler yep? So, i think the trailers are made for who don't had see the movie, and you put a spoiler in the comments of the trailer?

It's not a good ideia. But, its just my little opinion.

    *bad english, im brazillian*

  • what is the music at the end? please tell me!

  • its from the Movie Sunshine de Danny Boyle

  • fuck

  • It's like the blind leading the blind.

  • Very good film. I love the ending.

  • the rape scene where the woman gets beaten to death scared me so much, i was actually terrified.

it was so real, i could actually feel it.

  • oh my gosh, me too! I was furious, and terrified, and sad. :(

  • if you liked this movie, you should check out martyrs, i just watched it last night. the twist at the ending is sick, and the whole movie is thick with plot. you might want to put the english subtitles on (french).. but it is so worth seeing. (no rape scenes, thank god)

  • Yeah I will! The rape scenes in any movie make me so angry! haha, I then hope throughout the movie they get sweet revenge! I work at blockbuster...so I will rent it today. If its not TOO new. haha Thanks for the recommendation :)

  • oooh, i rented martyrs from blockbuster =) hehe, but i hope french movies are okay by you, although in horror, talking is not really the point - the screaming, the running, and the crying tend to go a long way to explaining what the hell is going on

  • Oh no, I don't mind foreign movies at all! It is still considered a "new release" so I have to wait a bit, hopefully by Tuesday I can rent it!

  • I just saw that movie your recommended, martyrs! That was a great movie!!! Especially the end..

    :D

    Thanks!

  • yipee. it rocked. i knew it would :)

  • wow. you know its a good movie when the person can go through mood swings just by watching it :]

  • damn straight. i never get scared, but one of those scenes just sent a thrill through my bones.

  • which scene?

  • the rape scene.

  • Oh that scene, yeah, I have to agree with you on that. That freaked me out too.

  • @yossuelzero No te exhibas tan penosamente.

  • this movie is hollywood bullshit

  • "surface of the sun" by John Murphy

  • why she didnt get blind??

  • somehow she was immune... it happens...

  • @elkioskomagazine are you serious? you think thats the "reason" ?

If so, you seriously missed the entire point of all this...

  • @wwwv89 but in the end she did get blind

  • @akisrob

    SPOILER...!!!!!!

No she didn´t. It was the first impression when she saw the sky.

  • @akisrob thanks 4 ruining it.

  • @wwwv89 spoiler!

  • @wwwv89 i read the book and the end she get blind

  • Watch the movie after you read the book. A lot of things will make more sense like why she didn't stop the raping [at the time].

  • Egh...I'm at the point where I'm too angry to even begin to take-in what the book has to tell me lol.

Rape is rape. And if you don't do anything about it, then your're just as good as being blind yourself. Main point-Stupid Character. I guess everybody has their own opinion heh

  • But she kills him [the rapist] so she did do something about it.

  • I've read the book years ago, always thought it would make good movie material.. can't wait to see it =)

  • The only similarity between the two stories is that they involve a whole lot of blind people but Saramago was trying to make a point. He juxtaposed existentialism and postmodern views to convey the rotten condition of society. Day of the Triffids, however, is sci-fi pulp. No offense.

  • Looks good, although the premise is ripped off Day Of The Triffids which I suspect will be remade into a big budget film as it's a brilliant story.

  • We are sooo doomed if we all lost our eyes. I didn't manage to see the whole film because I got pissed off, this film is so powerful that it makes u thing you'r part of it. I learned that I would not even survive for 20min if I was in that situation. Gratz to those who managed to see the whole film, You are real servivors.

  • A Great movie, a lesson to all of us. This movie story are from a nobel prize author, the portuguese writter José Saramago, and btw buy the book, a great book. The original name is "Ensaio sobre a cegueira" /assay on the blindness.

  • I think you shoud read the book first, is very good. i havent seen the movie yet, but the story is greate.

    regards.

  • lol, dont tell this person to read the book when we cant even read her comment haha

  • It's a very strong movie, There was a scene so disturbing I couldn't watch, I closed my eyes and put my hands in my ears, ugh, I even felt sick of the stomach...it's kind of good tho... humanity is...ugh

  • It's brilliant, a great movie..though a little strong. There was a scene in which I had to leave my seat. I couldn't watch it.

  • is this rated r or something? is it really disturbing i wanna watch it! wat is this rated r?

  • wow its kind of disturbing, anyway the books is way better

  • This movie changed my life...

  • why did this movie change your life???

  • because of the power of the life lesson that tells to us, It's for me really amazing, i think everyone should see it...If you see it with your heart you will understand what i am saiyng..

  • The score is a cover of the surface of the sun from John Murphy from the movie sunshine. It starts at the end.

  • the movie is great but the book is MUCH BETTER! and gael garcia bernal is so fuckiingg hooot!

  • I'm proud that a portuguese poet inspired this movie! Hurray for José Saramago!

  • Tambem eu :D!

  • This movie sucked!

I'm sure the book has to be better since its alway is.

In the movie when they started to rape the women thats when I gave up on this crap.

The person who could see could have stop it b 4 it happen.

  • but also in the book, all the women, including the doctor's wife, get raped....

  • read the book by Jose Saramango before u see the film...it better than anything they can put on screen...

  • Powerful film.

  • wow that would totally fucking suck

  • lol. ya, i'd say so.

    looks like a good movie.

  • do you know who wrote this book?

he is portuguese and he won a nobel prize

    JOSE SARAMAGO

  • it's surface of the sun from the movie sunshine by danny boyle.

  • pretty good trailer ... nice dramatic sound to the end. I like that!

  • i read the book twice and i was devastated by the truth i discovered. we claim to be civilised, we claim to know the difference between the bad and the good, but in the end we turn out to be small, egoistic, self-centered... blind.

  • where is this playing? i looked on fandango and it's not playing anywhere near me. is it only in select theatres right now?

  • very good movie..a little bit sad, bad remains good..

  • wow

  • Does anyone know the intense song at the end of this trailer?

If you could please tell me the name it would be much appreciated.

  • so this is a omg thats so happy :) ending movies?

  • get the fuck out of here

  • is this a horror ?

  • nope

  • i saw this movie last week end! i absolutely loved it!!!!

i had no words when i went out of the theatre.. =S it's amazing!

    i recomend!

  • the song is from another movie called Sunshine...which is really good BTW. However, some of the music from that movie was taken/sampled from the movie Underworld. So b/c of rights and blah blah blah an OST was never released for Sunshine. But search youtube for Sunshine OST and you'll find it...I think its called Escape the Iscarus 2 (I think)and there's another one but I forgot it...

  • wow really: thank you!! :-D now i'm so happy x-D *let's start the party* lol ^^

    thank you very much!!!

  • whats the name of the song at 1:40... i really like this music at the end <3

  • They kind a spoiled the ending, At first they show'd the guy who got infected then after that it show'd the same guy saying " I can finally see you " Of course i already knew that they would find a cure ... I think this movie is dull and boring

  • they didn't find the cure... the cure found them... it's like cancer and miracles

  • i live on the city the movie was filmed ^^

  • Sao Paulo?

  • yep

  • sao paulo; sonho um dia visitar essa cidade; talvez ate ficar ai algum tempo; porque nao?

  • Gael Garcia Bernal!!!!

    That's enough for me :)

I want to see this movie

  • he does a good job, and the movie is very good.

  • i wanted to watch it. but i heard it was bad...my favorite quote was, "LADY, i'll never forget ur voice." "And i'll never forget ur face!"

  • that movie doesnt interest me at all

  • the story of the movie is based on a novel by a portuguese writer and nobel prize winner José saramago. The original title of the book is " Ensaio sobre a Cegueira". Im suposing you already know the story...The director is from brazil, he also did a great movie called "City of God". Why the hell would the producers be trying to send a message to americans???hahaha they would probably rather listen to Fado......read more books.

  • hahaha they would probably rather listen to Fado......read more books.

    hey...i like fado!

  • my teacher said when he saw the movie, he was feeling very depressed after it ended.

  • my teacher said when he saw the movie, he was feeling very depressed after it ended.

So was i. Is that a bad thing? as far as i know good movies are supposed to transmit us strong emotions

  • Does anyone think that film ptoducers are trying to send a message to americans?

  • I just read the book, I finished it last night, and at november 20th this movie will be released in the netherlands, so I can`t wait. the book is so incredibly good!

Still, I don't understand why there is so little music in the trailer

  • iit looks kind of like Children of MEn. Same concept. soemthing tragic is happening to the world and people are panicking, showing the worst in themselves...

  • not the same concept. In Children of Men the problem has existed for decades, in this film it is new and sudden. Children of Men is strongly biblical, and is much more apocalyptic, this seems to have a narrower scope, mostly taking place inside a single location. The differences continue.

  • Children of Men is strongly biblical, and is much more apocalyptic, this seems to have a narrower scope, mostly taking place inside a single location. The differences continue.

Yes, there is nothing biblical or religious about Saramago's work; On the other hand i don't agree this movie has a narrower scope, it can be within a single location, but it shows human nature and the social condition very well...

  • right. but notice I said "narrower" not "narrow". I'm comparing it to Children of Men, not to the genre or itself as it were. It is still dealing with ideas and concepts fundamental to morality and human identity, but it does not have the streetside looters, grey skies and buildings, political elements, guerilla factions, and general far-reaching and utterly hopeless dystopian "thing" it deals with a smaller time period and therefore (naturally) has less of a world built arround it.

  • and did you liked this movie?

  • well, i havent seen the movie yet, so i was judging just from the Blindness trailer. You're probably right about all those things.

  • I saw this movie yesterday :o it was good

yeaa, I'd advise not bringing kids xD it does have some wrong scenes

  • I haven't seen the movie yet, but I'm sure it won't be appreciated that much by the critics 'couse the book is way too good to be reached by the movie...

  • i agree. the critics are a bunch of assholes! they only like movies with a lot of drama in them. they don't give the other movies a chance.

  • I was pretty disappointed with it.

  • whats the movie rated cause if you read the book it should be adult only

  • whats the movie rated cause if you read the book it should be adult only

Don't be idiot. Books aren't rated in europe.

  • wow

    people were protesting this film

    it looks pretty good actually

  • wow i cant wait to see this.

  • THIS LOOKS SOOOOO GOOD !

  • the spanish woman from I am Legend is in here! is she the one that shes its up to you to decide what we should do next?! That looks like her!

  • hehe, she's brazilian, just in case =)

  • he spanish woman from I am Legend is in here! is she the one that shes its up to you to decide what we should do next?! That looks like her!

She's the girl from I am legend, but she is not spanish. She's Brazilian

  • is tat stephen chow?wow!!!
