  • Oh dear, this is simply amazing.

  • They both have great voices, but this is just too much pop for a song from les mis. All singers should learn how to switch back and forth from pop to classical. But besides that, they are both great singers.

  • Don't know anything about this group but for a song like this the female is way too pop for my taste. Harmonies are great but her lack of emotion in this particular song ruins the performance. My 2C

  • Jon is amazing. Nuff said.

  • Love this version Jon. It was great working with you in Les Miserables. Lots of love. Jeff Leyton. x

  • Hell I wish they were still together and I would totally would go out with Jon if I weren't so young

  • Amazing! I used to be obsessed with S Club and Les Mis is my all time favourite musical. Good combination. I was always on team S Club not Steps. Lol xD

  • Wow Jon just melted me.... Wow Jo gave me chills.. all in all... THEY WARMED MY HEART AND SOUL

  • jon has a voice like an angel. wouldn't you agree?

  • @loverofyugioh HELL YES HE DOES

  • @NCISAgent16 i adore him and and all of sclub, heck i would go out with him, he is about 5-10years older than me, and i have a weakeness for blondes, heck jo is one of the most AMAZING people i know of with that voice, YEY JON AND JO

  • !!!Nice

  • a nice pop version. true to the original or not.

  • It is wonderful!!!!!!!!!

  • I was actually pleasantly surprised how well they did! It's an incredibly difficult song to sing, they did well!

I think our ears and hearts have been spoiled by Colm's masterful performance though, I'm afraid no one will ever be able to compare.

    Much love, though!

  • @Odonnolly i actually much love Jeff Leytons version of it, but this is nice

  • nice harmonies and quite surprising for a pop group. Didnt jon play marius before?

  • Jesus she murdered her part

  • Wow. Really surprised. Thought they might have murdered it but it was lovely, the harmonies are great.

Jon sings it really well, but perhaps needs a bit of a stronger voice... Like those who have played the character professionally?

  • when was it??? i loveee this video..i love this song and i love sclub7

  • I LOVE THOSE TWO TOGETHER. This song is wonderful sung by them!

  • good vidoe he colud do it on his own better

  • No he couldn't. Jo makes EVERYTHING better! But Jon's till cool though! :)

  • she makes it horrible

  • Your crazy! Don't be a jealous little hater bitch, k?

  • im not jealous, nor am i a hater, i LOVE S Club, but she doesnt sounds right singing this song

  • Oh. I'm sorry Simon Cowel, I didn't know!!

  • Perhaps if you understood the context of this song, you might understand the comments about it maybe not being quite the song for a woman to sing.

  • what does the context have to do with it? Although I'm sure Jon there knows all about it, since he was in Les Miserables. the play it comes from, and he obviously has no problems with her singing it. And it is just a song after al. Besides, her S Club buddy Jon Lee does it in the play, and he invited her to join him. It's not like it was for a movie or CD. It was just a cute little thing done for an audience.

  • Do you know the story behind the song? From the other posts I've seen you write, you have no tolerance if anyone says anything about this girl-even if it is as innocuous as my comment was.

The song is about two men fighting in the French Revolution-one older man-Valjean-and the other younger man is his son-in-law to be. They are facing fairly certain death by morning and this song is a prayer to God to spare the young man's life. It isn't really what I would ever consider a 'cute little' song.

  • Additionally, the other reason I don't consider it a 'cute little' song is because it was a song sung or played at a lot of funerals in the late 80's and through the 90's of young men that died from AIDS, primarily because the lryics were so poignant for the situation.

  • bravo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • well shes better then him... but his voice does not flatter this song at all.

  • You're taste must be all up your ass!

  • Well yeah but to be fair to Jon, Jo is better than pretty much ANYBODY!

  • Jealous of a hot talented girl eh? That mean you're fat & ugly bitch with no talent of your own! AND a moron! :p

  • No. Not particularly jealous of her. She has a nice voice. I simply mean that for this song, which is meant for once person and not for a girl because it doesn't sound as good in a woman's range, she is not right. He is wonderful. I am not jealous of her at all. I do my own thing. She does hers and she's good at what she does. I'm just not a fan here. There's no need to be gross and vulgar about my opinions.

  • A very reasonable reponse to my somewhat rude comment. Put in that light, I appolgize for that.

As for the song itself, it is from the play Jon was in, and isn't really a favourite of mine. I just feel Jo is a wonderful singer, but perhaps you have a point about it being better suited to a male voice. And I agree that Jon is superb!

  • I was going to say the same thing - not to be a stickler, but this song is not really for a woman to sing because of its context.

  • it was very very good! geniy!!!! bella bella bella!

  • brilliant

  • this was a wonderful duet! goosbumbs!(L)

  • didnt expect that, it was wonderful

  • not what I expected. decent.

  • perfection !!!!!!!!!!!!

  • well it was good but thing is i never think pop singers like jo work with songs like this i meen she who riffs in les miserables i meen im 14 and ive just finished playing valjean and im used to singing things like wicked and we will rock you and i riff like crazy but to even consider riffing in les mis is criminal... still reelie good tho!

  • They both have incredible voices.

This was a good choice of song.

    It's mesmerising.

  • It's not the Royal Variety...it was a musicals concert at the Millenium Stadium in Cardiff a few years ago.

  • I love the duet Jo/Jon

  • when was this???

  • I'm pretty certain this is from a Royal Variety performance at least five years ago. I remember watching it and being bowled over by how good they are (especially Jon).

  • thnx for answering, luv s club

  • in my opinion 2 of the best voices, singing an amax=zing song...amazing!!!

  • Jon was so amazing in Les Mis! saw it in February! So was the guy who played Valjean! I have to say he did a better job than this! Stick to Marius, Jon! Empty chairs and Empty Tables was ajust fabulous!

  • I saw it in Feb. in Ny & London

  • Love this version.

    Come back S Club 7!

  • This is a very interesting song they chose to do. I would expect A Heart Full of Love or something. But its pretty good, I'm not gonna lie.

  • I would never thought I´ll ever say this, but they sounded great!!

  • Awesome!

  • this song is awesome!!! i wish i could hear jon sing the whole song though,,,he's so hot!!!

  • where did Jon go after the Sclub?

  • Don't think they're singing live here. Saw Jon Lee in Les Mis the other day and he was brilliant. Such a lovely voice with a really nice tone. Really would like to download this for my ipod but can't find it anywhere.

  • I think they are singing live. They both sound great together.

  • Wow, their voices are so beautiful together!

  • Funny how Jon then ended up going into Les Lis after S Club split...hmm,...makes me think he was already pondering about going into this production then?.

  • Why do they insist on singing in American accents? It sounds so odd seeing British perormers doing that, it works better in pop songs, but not really here.

  • Alot of people from different English speaking countries (like UK, Sweedin) sing in American accents. Like the A*TEENS and PLAY. For a while I thought that they were both American groups but their from Stockholm (sp?)

  • Yeah, a lot of singers from different countries sing without what would be considered an accent to Americans or would be considered an "American accent" to non-Americans. For example, many singers from the Philippines speak with an accent, but when they sing, you could never tell they were Filipino. Also, remember that music is a universal language.

  • Actually, I think it's pretty rare to find British performers singing with American accents. It's more commonly found in 'bubble-gum pop' i.e S Club, rather than serious British acts. I think the annoying thing is that the way they should be singing the song should be the way they know it, which would be with a British accent, rather than turning a very beautiful song around to sound like throwaway pop.

  • This is so good. They have such good voices. Why don't they ever sing live when they sing all of their other songs?

  • awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww jon is sooo good in les mis now

  • this is amazin. but its rly random! is this at one of their concerts? i doubt many of the audience would have known the song lol. still really good tho

  • A wonderful song singing by 2 wonderful singers

  • aww I adore Les Mis, this is FANTASTIC! Why did they do this?
