I just got a referbed iPhone 4 and I keep getting a crackle sound and some of the time can't hear the other person at all. They also can only hear the crackle sound. I took it to the Apple store but naturally it worked fine there. I was wondering if it was the death grip but I don't see how it could be because I hold the phone in my right hand which doesn't even touch that bottom left corner. I also have a rubber case around the phone preventing me from touching the metal. Any ideas?

Since January 2011 Apple bought out "batch 2" of the iPhone 4 which they said would fix the signal problems

And so far it seems to be working fine so no calls being dropped :D

I've tried the 'death grip' but I only notice a drop of around 1-2 bars, generally full reception. Not affecting calls in any way, I guess whatever stock was left once the problem came out was fixed?

i tried something.. i have a very thin case on my iphone4 and when my case is on and my hand is on the part which "stops the signal" it doesnt drop at alll infact its maxed signal! but when i take the slim case of that 2mm layer makes a biiig difference! when i took it off and covered it with my hand/palm i lost signal? im gonna keep my case on i like it anyways :)

i'm in australia, i almost forgot about this issue until i stumbled on to this, i'm not sure of the standard in comparison of our mobile network but both 2G and 3G will not drop a call. i lost one bar on 3g when i smothered the whole thing. i don't use a bumper case just a screen protector.
