  • Wow. The infamous Randy Rhoads Tribute photo...Fuck me.

  • Makes me sad to think of what could of been... RIP randy and all those other rockers who died before their time...

  • I feel so sad watching videos of Randy... :/

  • I think Randy’s brother Kelle put it best when he said that the guitarists people will remember in 100 years are Hendrix, Rhoads, and Page.

R.I.P Randy, I hope Andrew Aycock burns in hell.

  • @PBANDSNOW really?thats a cool quote.

  • @timpenfield5 Ya, he said it in the last chapter of Randy’s new biography “Crazy Train: The High Life And Tragic Death of Randy Rhoads”.

  • This shit makes me cry. :(

  • Only the good die YOUNG !!!!!!!!

  • THERES GOTTA BE A BETTER QUALITY

  • SIR RANDY SIMPLY THE BEST HANDS DOWN . ROCK ON BROS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!@lazercannoncheck

  • I cant believe they caught the tribute album cover shot on tape as well.Thats part of what makes a concert such a magic event, u never know when u are going to be witnessing rock and roll history.Well actually you can count on not witnessing rock history these days because nobody is going to remember any of these bands that have came out in the last 10 years. I hope the music industry changes back to make the music count but it dont look good.RIP Randy

  • 2:09 :) perfect

  • This is my favorite clip of Randy Rhoads performing!!!

  • He sounds great in this. So much spirit in his playing. It's living tone!

  • I respect all the guitar talent that came before and after him, but for me Randy is at the pinnacle. His live performances electrify me like no other... his compositions are timeless, pleaseing my ear today just like decades ago. I wish I had seen him in concert...

  • id place randy next to hendrix thats just my opnion

  • @deepwoodskentuckian hendrix is not even in the same league of randy or any other shred guitarists lol...

  • i think i almost cried at 2:10

  • One thing you never hear about Randy is he did NOT have a bunch of silly ass stomp boxes. The man was straight forward all business no bullshit and his tone kicked ASS! Today it seems every guitarist has 4 feet of dumb ass stomp boxes and they all sound alike. Paul Gilbert is the only guy I respect today, because he does it right.

  • Just....look at ozzy he looks like an drunk monkey

  • @DSMetallica he IS a drunk monkey :D

    i miss the 80s

  • this guitar solo (from revelation mother earth) is the best guitar solo known to man----get a clear copy and put it side by side to anything--- see for yourself

  • Ozzys clapping is like 'OMG I cant believe this guy is my guitarist'

  • what year is the?

  • Pretty advanced stuff for the early 80s. What a great guitar player...what a waste!

  • You know what most people miss about Randy?.. Yes he was and is the best Guitar Player .. IMO.. but.. He died at age 25. can anyone imagine a 25 year old now a days playing like this? ROFL

  • @d3et1roi3t how bout a fifteen year old? It's a BOLD ASS move to put myself up against Randy...my guide, my influence...but check out my vids man

  • I was born in 91, so I missed out on this hell of a man, Randy. I love his music! Screw modern day stuff the 80s had actual music by many artists such as ozzy acdc metallic gnr, etc. Rip Randy wish I would've had the opportunity to see you shred live.

  • This brings back great memories for me as saw ozzys first blizzard tour in Canterbury England! Was at front of the stage and was an arms reach away from what I consider the best guitarist that ever lived!! So sad he never recorded more, god bless you Randy!!!

  • Tribute Cover @ 2:10

  • ozzy at that time still knew Randy was the best

  • man i miss randy rhoads so much..he was such a awesome guitarist..

  • In those days, as you can see, Randy was the star of the show. He was an absolute sensation live in those shows, can still vividly remember it.

  • How is it that there is footage with Brad Gillis, and it has Amazing quality straight to a capital A!!! and yet no footage with Randy, and when there is, its Crap?

    Sharon!!!!!!!

  • if you were lucky enough to see randy play live, then this is what you got to experience. pure electricity

  • 2:08 Right then, the famous Shot of the Randy lift!

  • lol, ozzy claps in his hands all the time :)

if i would be standing next to randy i would kneel to him

  • the band was a perfect combo for a gothic horror type of rock.

  • It is almost insane to believe that Randy was playing that 30 years ago. The man was Unmatched.

  • stop at 2:10 rip randy u were awsome!! still to this day

  • Randy Rhoads: A tiny little guy, but HUGE fucking talent.

  • I wish I could have attendedthis concert. Randy was the best. RIP dude

  • wow, great sound quality. truly appreciate it.

  • 2:07 fukkin epic ...

    RIP Randall William Rhoads :')

  • I really dig how he is still thought of daily ..... i really hope that dimebags kickin with randy ,jimi, maybe they have bonzo n entwistle on backin them up ? god bless miss u brothers ...rock on.

  • At 2:07 Ozzy lifts Randy up in what is now a classic photo op. When Brad Gillis was playing with him Ozzy would go over and hold on to Brad's leg but there is no way he was going to lift the much bigger Brad Gillis off of the ground! LOL!

  • WOOT, this is what I'm talking about ! Thanks Killingsense, but it drops out and blue screens a lot? Still way worth seeing. THANKS SO MUCH!

  • Priceless footage. It would have been amazing to see Randy at that time.

  • I was born in 94, so I missed a lot, and I don't care what people say, I would rather see this show (or any from the Diary Of A Madman tour) than any show by Hendrix, the Beatles, the Doors, Zeppelin, Elvis or anything else! Randy was the greatest musician who ever lived, and I never got to see him!!!!!! I feel so sad when I think about it.

  • This is so awesome Randy Rhoads Lives priceless what a Guitar God!

  • Dude...this is the best group of clips of Randy live that I've seen...i know the After Hours vids are actually "played live" but not in front of 30,000 ppl :] thank you and may the greatest guitarist that ever lived rest in peace..we miss you Randy.

  • If he was alive today, guitar will be named "rhoads".

  • Randy Rhoads= GOD. there are songs that almost make me cry, cuz he died so young. There are millions pof people that love him and he only did 2 or 3 albuns (conting with Quiet Riot). Imagine if he stayed alive and changed his mine and stayed with Ozzy. Unfortunaly thats the only thing we can do- Imagine. GOD BLESS RANDY RHOADS! THE GREATEST GUITARRIST EVER! Damn!Randy, why did you get in that plane with Rachel?

  • @TheMarkus16 he did quiet riot 1 and 2 signed with sony so they only released in japan. he recorded blizzard of ozz and diary of a madman with 'the blizzard of ozz band' and wrote nearly half of bark at the moon. seriously, did you think jake e. lee came up with that solo in batm? all randy ^_^ he is the greatest inspiration to me

  • @frickmason1 - actually there was a third Quiet Riot album that was recorded but not released by Sony Japan. Unfortunately it died with Kevin Dubrow. There was SOME music left over from "Diary" that was used for "BATM" but all the solos were written by Jake E. Lee - ALL. I have VERY RARE demos of Jake in RATT and he does some similar licks in one of their songs that is used in BATM.

  • @TheMarkus16 That's what you get when you fuck the boss's wife.

  • Two people missed the "like" button.

  • I saw this tour back then in Fresno's Selland Arena. I remember the Mix that night seemed too thick as far as the Organ was louder than everything else at times. But it was a good night. Randy was a real nice guy! A great Teacher and player. it owuld be cool to see what he would be doing if her were still around. "?"

  • when he played it sounded like the cd, now bands cant even play their own songs

  • Why did video cameras have to suck so bad in the 80's?

  • how did this get any dislikes .. quality ?? can't complain.. can you ?

  • wow best vid on youtube :)

  • do u hav any film of randy rhoads playing paranoid, not audio, flat out film?

  • man when will randys day come around im sick of all bootleg shit they need to release pro shit its time this man is a lengend the james dean of rock n roll

  • Thank god for the guy who smuggled his old video recorder into this show.:)

  • Randy did a lot of these bits with Riot, but it was the perfect counter balance when teamed up with Ozzy. It just WORKED perfectly creating a sinister kick ass vibe overall. Looking back Randy's tone is what set him apart from other guitarists, he had that strong metallic brilliance to his guitar tone. When i listen to Van Halen or other guitarists of that period, they all sound kind of muddled and washed out live.

  • the best...

  • Randy was the SHOW!! Most of the songs were riffs he did with Quiet Riot. Wish he would have stayed with QR and studied his Classical Guitar at UCLA (Masters Degree). Who knows what would have been?????

  • Thanks for uploading this. Outside of the After Hours clips, there doesn't appear to be allot of video of the two of them performing live. Which was a very strong show.

    THanks again!

  • This is why bootlegs are a good thing!

  • is anyone else besides me pissed that they barley show randy >:-(

  • These videos mean so much to me. I enjoy watching his shadow when the video isnt showing him. I play guitar and I cannot put into words what his playing and influence has done for me.

  • Randy lived a short career with Ozzy, and now with Hip-Hop and Rap as popular as ever, no one looks into Ozzy anymore. That means not alot of people know about Randy at all. I got a few of my friends to become major Randy fans. I'm afraid it's only us guys now. OZZY 4FUCKINGEVER. R.I.P Randy

  • i would give anything if i would have been born before i was and could have been at this concert, yeah no doubt about it,he was still is the greatest guitarist in my book.

  • is there a whole concert of this? or is this just clips?

  • @horacrux

There's a bootleg of this show, but it only recorded the first part through Over The Mountain, Mr. Crowley, Crazy Train, Revelation and Steal Away. That's all tha was recorded of this show. You can search them on Youtube.

  • 2:08

    MY BEST PART

  • Well That Was His Favorite Guitar Solo.

  • randy rhodes was fucking awesome!! unfortunately, he does not get the type of recognition he deserves, when placed amongst the greatest guitarists that have ever lived and played.

  • dood this footage is epic u cud sell it for millions of dollarssss

  • gjay, nor does Randy Rhoads!

  • sure he does. Nearly 28 years after his death he's still recogized as one of the best ever... waay ahead of his time. A true innovator. Many of the so-called greatest guitarists you're referring to in rock/metal are grossly overrated. Rhoads isn't and never will be in that bunch.

  • @gjay700 he was a teacher. All around rockin cool guy. His tombstone should read. "Here lies a cat that..really didn't need to die but, WHATEVER god..."

  • @gjay700 Randy's last name isn't spelled Rhodes it's spelled Rhoads they spelled his name wrong on his star.

  • @gjay700 We know better though.. Metal with a classical influence just can't be beat in my book.

  • @gjay700 before you call him awesome, spell his name right ;)

  • damn.... that boy was gettin it huh.

  • Randy's material turned darker when he joined Ozzy... he knew what kinda audience he had to cater to

  • well he began to have a much greater classical influence in his playing

  • Is there really pro footage of the Diary Tour with Randy?

  • yeah i found this video on here a week or two ago of him playing over the mountain. (i dont remember what i searched but ill find it for you...) an it was professional footage from the documentary trailer, which proves there was footage hidden from all the fans...

  • That would be awsome dude, thanks.

  • its not fair tht they keep all his pro footage lockd up, it sux ass tht i wasn born early enuf 2 c Randy but 2 no tht ther is so much of him i havn seen but i cud c

    its bull shit

  • @FLAMINGSTRINGZ amen man there holding information that could change peoples lifes and enspire the next Gandhi or Bob Marley or something his guitars are locked up in a vault which is BS they belong in a musseum

  • the guitars all locked up i can understand in a museum sum1s gonna steal it eventually, but they gotta release the footage

  • God bless the one who filmed this

    Rest in peace Randy...

    He is the best

  • Isn't it strange to you guys that except after hours there are no more professionally recorded videos of Randy with Ozzy? Well you can't say that this is the best quality of the era because Maiden the same year did beast over hammersmith and it has amazing quality. If anyone knows something please tell

  • Whats even more strange is that ozzy had 6 songs in the top 100 in 1981... isnt it strange that theres no pro footage of the man who half the crowd was going to see, but weeks after he dies, theres footage of ozzy and gillis? There is Pro Footage out there, bu i guarentee that ozzy, sharon, and delores rhoads have it locked up because its personal.

  • Dude maybe you're right but it's been like 30 years and noone had access to these things. And really I don't see any reason that ozzy sharom and delores don't want this footage to come out. Because the only thing it can do is expand Randy's fame

  • I'm so with you...it's so strange that there's no fotage with good quality of randy...Or, I bet it is...but Sharon or someone probably has em...I wish SO much that I could see some of them...

look at the vif "entertainment tonight" there's a proof of good quality vids with randy

  • Dude can you explain what's the vif (did you mean vid?:P ) and where can I find that and how's involved with Rhoads. Also I have in my mind that if we start a forum or something complaining about the hidden pro footage of Randy maybe we could do something and reach ozzy you know.

  • @TheBrilliantSunchips

Ozzy would have made money on it. Mrs Rhoads would want it to show the greatness of her son she has always been open to all Randys fans. There is no such tapes or we would have them.

  • which is retarded, Randy wouldn't want it locked up

  • yes but after this one video i saw that was part of the documentary coming out where he was playing Over the Mountain, there is pro footage and it was locked up for quite some time and soon to be soon by millions of fans =D

  • Is it getting released soon? I'm really pissed at Sharon for locking it up

  • Do you have all these songs in full or just like this

  • I wish The performance OF the Best live recording Trubute os on Video or DVD...the whole thing

  • I saw Randy twice in San Antonio. The second time Ozzy got locked-up for peeing on the Alamo and all hell broke loose. My very first riot.. Pete Way from U.F.O let me in backstage to this sold-out show. It was truly the best show I've ever seen, and my life was never the same

  • Randy died coming to see us all.

    On tour March 19, 1982

  • I would've died to see Randy Rhoads live and met him.

  • oz and randy what a team that was and still to this day were listening to randys licks trying to figure them out what a shredder he was,but hes lookind down at us i would imagine him and hendrix play guitar in heaven.

  • R.I.P. Randy Rhoads the best guitarist ever

  • @metalmilitia555666 maybe randy is not best guitarist but so fucking damn good persone and he will forever in my heart sorry about my english :s

  • I just got your Email Frobbinhood. No he wasn't buried with his guitars. His family has everything locked up and a handful of people have gotten to see his equipment after his death. There's a video that I watched on Youtube a long time ago where in a documentary they revealed his PDV and the paint was chipping and bubbling really badly. If I ever find it, I'll send a link.

Ps. I didn't want to say this, but out of respect, there wasn't...too much... of him to bury. :(

  • 2:09 i just felt like crying

  • I haven't heard too much on his action, but I remember reading that a student once played his Les Paul and couldn't get over how eeaaaassssyyyy it was to play, hope that helps =)

  • wasnt he burried with all his guitars

  • No. The PDV is Cleveland's Rock N' Roll Hall of Fame (along with his QR outfit), his White Jackson is on display somewhere, his Black Jackson, I beileive was in a Hard Rock Cafe resteraunt, and his Les Paul is with his mother Delores.

  • the polkadot is with his mother i think. i remember ozzy said so in an interview

  • from what i read and the pictures i saw on guitar world, his black jackson, along with his marshall stack, was returned to the Rhoads family

  • @killingsense his white jacksons with his mom too

  • @killingsense thats kinda hard to believe abut his guitars are with someone else other than his family. cause the Jackson guys who remade the white Jackson said they went to his (Randy's) mother to get exactly look and measurements of it. there is black tape on the back of it and she told them not to take it off.

  • @believin13 well of course. i know that. read wut i wrote to u. the 1st sentence.

  • @killingsense kinda heard to believe that man. because Jackson Guitar Co. made replica's of the white 1. they went to Randy's mom and looked @ that guitar n the her store. they took measurements and notes down: she told them not to take the black tape off the back of it, because of some show reason.

  • @believin13 Kelly and Delores Rhoads have his guitars and that is all to it. The black tape is on there because the hardware on the front of the guitar would reflect in the stage darkness. So Randy would flip the guitar up. Well, the back cavity plate would reflect light as well. So Randy put black tape over it to stop the reflections in the darkness of the stage intro of each concert.

  • @pabloramirez716

I also believe the black tape was used to prevent scratches on the guitar from his vests. But I think you're also right about the reflection. Same reason why he changed the knobs on his PDV from White to Black.

  • @frobinhood there in valt

  • I really can't say enough about the awesomeness that was Randy Rhoads. It is frightening how effortlessly he plays those mindblowing solos. This footage makes me wanna cry.

  • I can't believe you saw that concert in which they took the Tribute Album photo. AND OH MY GOD THERE'S SO MANY DIFFERENT KINDS OF AWESOME!!

  • Thank you for posting this. I had a lump in my throat when Ozzy lifted Randy up. That's the best picture in Rock!!

  • i REALLY wanna no how low Randys action on his guitar is can ne1 help me out?

  • ................

  • Absolutely fucking beautiful!!!!!

    Nothing short of breath taking

  • I've never seen anyone bang their head as hard as Randy does in this concert, like really bangs it hard!!

  • Ozzy lifting up Randy makes me cry

  • @Fr0t3x One of THE GREATEST moments in the History of Metal,,,in fact, all music!

  • 1:54 :D

2:08 that part makes me cry =(

  • mother earth

  • is there any possibility to buy the dvd?

  • lol when ozzy claps u here the echo

  • Any video is better than no video...Thank God we have something of Randy live! King biscuit was the best version of any of his live playing though.

  • is there any professioanlly shot footage of randy besides after hours

  • With Ozzy? There is but it's not a concert. Just dress rehersal of the upcoming Diary tour. No pro footage of an actual concert. But there's pro footage of him in Quiet Riot.

There's also a rumor that there are pro concert footage of Randy but Sharon has locked them up for respect. Not sure if it's true.

  • @Riprandycriss94 no concerts except this and after hours, there is some lost footage that his mother has, but wont reveal it to public, and i have seen it

  • i just love that on 2:50 how the solo echose xD

imagine......... it must have felt imaginable i bet the crowd was blown away!!

    RIP randy!!!

  • I agree. That's why the Diary was my favorite tour Randy did. I even uploaded two shows from the tour. The Echo gave it an awesome touch to the songs.

  • do know where to get any diary tour bootlegs. or blizzard tour

  • Where is this from????Clean it up and put it out on DVD god damn it!!!

  • Chicago. And there is a DVD for it.

  • A dvd?!

Please tell me more, pm or comment please

  • randy = guitar god,the only other guitarist that i can think of that is similar to randy,s style is lynch.

  • easily the best guitarist ever

  • why is it that, even though there is plenty of video footage of guitarist that died 10 years before randy even, but there is hardly any good video footage of randy ?!? if only he had been a round a little longer!

  • Being lucky enough to see Randy twice I can say he was not only a great guitar player but a great performer and this video gives us a little taste of what that was like. Ozzy and his music was never the same after him.

  • Ditto...Saw Ozzy twice with Randy as well. The only other CD I liked post Randy was "Ozzmosis" and that was pretty much it for me.

  • cool thanks

  • what song is it that plays at the start ??

  • Revelation (Mother Earth)

  • Sorry i meant to give you a thumbs up, my bad.

  • Haha it's ok.

  • gotta love that head banging

  • I love how when Ozzy picks Randy up, he doesn't mess up the solo.

  • OMFG!!!!!

i never see this video....and now i see its amazing the quality is better than another videos....

WOW the cover of the album TRIBUTE

    beautiful beautiful beautiful

    thx for share

    RIP Randy Rhoads

  • is this the concert where Tribute was recorded?

  • Read a few posts above/below.
