  • JUICEY

  • awesome!!!

  • Gil Scott Heron and the Midnight Band was the first artist I saw in concert. I was 13 and visiting relatives in Oakland in 1975. They were the opening act before Earth Wind and Fire. I fell in love with them and bought every album they made and played them until 2005 when I lost them all in Hurricane K. I was able to recover almost every album I owned but not Gil Scott's. All of his albums were sitting on top of the turntable and the wall unit crushed. Thanks to whoever put this on utube.

  • @newgrannie1 Thanks for the comment, it isn't just me. RIP GSH.

  • Pure poet and genius....sorely missed...respect for the version upload

  • This is real music that needs to be appreciated like a gift. Gil-Scott= Musical genius!

  • Wow. Amazing stuff. Thanks for upload.

  • One of the best song even written...

  • This is amazing!

  • AWESOME!!!!

  • Outstanding! Genius. RIP

  • 1 person was beaten with the bottle

  • Our, Great 21st Century Poet, Mr. Gill Scot Heron,

  • Don't you think it's a Crime to dislike this ?

  • @TheMrLolilol Yes im just waiting for the honkey capitalist pigs to screw up so i can take over

  • used to own this masterpiece, one of the best live sessions ever imo, elements of this recording have been sampled numerous times throughout the years.

  • WHAT A JAM SESSION! I FEEL LIKE I JUST DID AN EIGHT BALL!

  • Turn it up!!!

  • Once again, pseudo intellects, like mixxermax, over analyze classics. FOOLS! EVERY GREAT WORK HAS FLAWS!! Yet, its beauty, its impact its contribution to life is not diminished. Remember, the Mona Lisa was rejected by the patron who commissioned it! Today, no amount of money in the world can buy it!! mixxermax would do well to expirence art, instead of analyzing it.

  • @XavierThe00 Once again, the pot calls the kettle black. You're the one being over-analytical...mixxersmix isn't trashing the song, just giving his opinion on the version at hand. Fool.

  • Thanks for posting this masterpiece...

  • Rest In Love Gil Scott-Heron

  • interesting version of the classic , sounds live but with club elements added its not quite as danceable as it could be more tropical or jungle, but the beat is missing for too long. I could see an african dance troup using this.

  • @Mixxersmix I regard this as the "master version" it is by far and away the best recording of this song. When I think of The Bottle this is the version that runs in my head.

  • RIP Gil, Never forget this on the dance floor of St Ives.

  • THANKS FOR THE BLESSING THAT YOU GAVE US ALL I THINK THAT YOU CAME AND DID WHAT YO WERE SUPPOSED TO DO YOU GAVE US PLENTY OF MESSEAGES .YOU HAVE DONE WELL OTHER GENERATION WILL LISTEN WHO WILL SURVIVE IN AMERICA. ITS IN THE MUSIC HE TAUGHT US WHAT TO THINK ABOUT YOUR SELF ON A HUMANITY ASPECT. I WAS 10 AND HERD THE BOTTLE AND NEVER FOR GOT IT.

  • rip dude !!

  • We will always love you Gil.

    What it is...

  • oh dear lord this is GENIUS

  • This is the man who awakened black conciousness through poetry set to music. You publicised the afro-centric struggles under 1960's and 70's apartheid in America R.I.P Gil, when you get to the other side I'm sure he'll say well done.

  • R.I.P., Your music shall live on forever in our hearts and on the dance floor..x

  • R.I.P. this song is deep.....

  • masterpiece! :)
