just started ballet for adults (for exercise and stretching) you're so much better than my teacher! I know I won't be a ballerina, but I still want to learn the proper way, you explain everything very well! My teacher just shows and that's it, get on with it! please come to UK and teach me, you're great! thanks for all your tips and videos, they've helped me a lot.
ok so i have a bad habit of forcing my turn out can i do to stop that?oh and my nees pop in plie.I have no clue why?and how can we stop twisting from our nees? and how do we now were turing out from our hips?
You covered the basics well, however I have a problem with your fingers and arm explanation... when you form your fingers the proper way your middle finger should be lower than the rest of your fingers. Your thumb and middle finger should almost touch, but not quite.
And for your arms in second, your elbows should be lifted so that it's like a slope from your shoulders, then elbows, then wrists. Yours arms should feel like they're reaching from your back
@Dajavuumclin It's alright i'm 14 and I'm starting september 12 this year. Read some comments made by other users on this video. One said "Never too late unless your like 60" :D So go for it! I am :)
This is a really good video! I love every single one of your videos. Your pointe shoe sewing was very helpful to me because I am just beginning pointe. While I was watching this video, I noticed that you said you had bad turnout. But, honestly, your turnout is pretty good. Your grande plie was also very good. You stayed pulled up in the core the whole time and were controlled and you didn't wobble. Great job!
Great video as always!! Really good things to learn and definitely useful for a first day. I was told and have experienced that for people who do not have as much turnout, certain things that are normally started and accomplished from 5th position of the feet can be accomplished from 3rd position. So perhaps 3rd might still have some use after all! : )
Wait wait wait... Dégagé is when you just point your toes and stick your leg out ON the ground. Battement jeté is when you lift your leg OFF the ground. Tendu basically just means strait :) (tendu as oppose to plié)
@MissBouclette1 this is a very good point! with Russian, French, and Italian methods all sort of floating around here in America, sometimes the definition of terms is slightly different, just depending on where you are! Note to everyone: it's def worth it to invest it a ballet dictionary that lists all three methods. :)
@cutezucarita You're never too old to start ballet. I was 14 when i started. It will take more work if you start older. But if you want it bad enough, age will not be something that can get in the way. Go for it! :)
Your so good at ballet
