The digitals locks section of C-32 is ridiculous. It would currently criminalize entire operating systems with it's wording, and gives no specifics as to what entails as DRM. It gives all power towards foreign software and hardware giants, and will kill homebrew development.
If I buy an Iphone, I should be able to retrofit the parts onto a giant robot. C-32 kills that dream.
It sucks, but these clowns are handing off power to an even worse crowd with even less accountability. Why they bother with public consultations on anything at all is a mystery to me. They already "know what Canadians want," and are prepared to ignore what Canadians say to implement it. Fuck em.
