Actually I have heard this song before,it happens to be one of my favorite songs on this CD. Normally I am a strong supporter of Yolanda Adams,But I was a little disappointed in this recording because it wasn't as anointed as some of her previous work,of course thats my thoughts on it.

Funny thing about it is that is how I feel when I take my eyes off of Jesus. I start thinking I can figure things out on my own, or that I am not worthy of God's help. I put God in a box. I think He thinks likes me. So I run to someone or something. Running is always my response. Fight or Flight lol. But this time God spoke
Be still and know that God will work out any situation that believers are faced with. Wait on God and He will show up and show out. Be still and know that God will never leave your side.
Examine the book of Psalms. How many times was the name of Jesus mentioned there? I lift up and honour the name of Jesus. However, the fact that His name was not mentioned in this song does not mean it isn't gospel or is compromised. The song is sung as if God Himself is whispering to your heart. If you are His sheep, you will recognise His voice, even if He doesn't say His name first!

Where will gospel music be in another 5 to ten years? Well its obvious to me that she is distilling many different parts of the bible, psalms, prophets as well as the word of Christ. into her lyrics. For those who think Jesus is absent from this song you must either 1) ignorant of the scriptures 2) be so reactionary or angry that you are are BLINDED to them (just in case you didn't pick it up, blinded that was a biblical allusion too.
I like this song because it doesn't place Jesus at a religious distance. He's very close and personal. It's like a comforting hug directly from Him. It makes me remember that He is a real person that I can talk to and He'll speak back to me in a down to earth and understandable way. I don't have to hear His name to know this is from Him because the Word says, "My sheep will know my voice, and a stranger they will not follow." I know this is Him without having to be told. I recognize His voice.
If you are in Christ you really would understand what she is saying...Also she is stating that he is saying " you are my Child and I did it before the foundation " That is God speaking "

People are so quick to judge what they don't understand and feel in theri eyes as wrong. How about letting god be God and you just receive the message from God. She doesn't have to mention the name God or jesus in order to understand that she is referring to HIM. the Almighty! @marisole771 Well since this song is sang from His perspective, it would be weird for Him to refer to Himself in the third person for no reason. A song doesn't need to be extremely obvious in order to be about Him. Consider the fact that the book of Esther in the Bible doesn't mention God by name or refer to Him at all specifically, but His presence is still clearly felt in the account. He knows who He is, and is aware of who is genuinely praising Him.

@kmartaylor Alot of so called gospel/christian artists sing songs like that so it "appeals" to the secular music audience also. She is not so much singing to the glory of God but rather to the glory of the record label/her bank account.

@marisole771 Well since this song is sang from His perspective, it would be weird for Him to refer to Himself in the third person for no reason. A song doesn't need to be extremely obvious in order to be about Him. Consider the fact that the book of Esther in the Bible doesn't mention God by name or refer to Him at all specifically, but His presence is still clearly felt in the account. He knows who He is, and is aware of who is genuinely praising Him.

@vlharris93 We all agree with you, but if I wasn't saved & didn't know who Yolanda Adams is, which sad to say a lot of young people don't...then I wouldn't know she is speaking as God. I'm a Youth Minister & a lot of young people don't know of her & the radio has this song playing on an R&B station. Somewhere in the background the backup singers could have mentioned Him...I still love it & play it. It's on my list.

@marisole771 yup i agree 100%!! my mom actually just pointed that out to me like last month! eve preachers are getting out of the habbit of mentioning the name Jesus. they'll say "son of Marry" or "Yawh" or however you spell it but they wont say Jesus Christ! yeah...its funny cuz by no other name than JESUS shall anyone enter into the kingdom and thats the very name they WONT use... kinda scary. its just the anti-Christ is all. as long as WE still use the name though...
