  • I got a second hand Colour Laser 5500n for £256, but the cartridges are silly money. I've seen everything from £40 (plus £60 delivery from the USA -_-) to £300. I'm not paying that, so it's refillin' time. I do have a spare black one though. I intend to 'practice' on the black one currently in it just in case I screw up XD. I mainly only print black and white anyway.

  • The waste hopper can typically last for a refill without the need for it to be emptied. It is recommended not to fill the same cartridge more than 1-2 times before replacing with a new one, and then starting the refill process over again.
