I've never grown those type of beans and I don't know why I haven't since I do like beans alot. hmmm. Maybe I'll just rob your garden when yours ripen? :)
I will be making a video of my kentucky wonder pole beans they are up but i had to skip plant between the spaces where none came up.Will show them and keep you posted of their progress.I allways enjoy your garden videos. Thanks
From watching gardening videos from all over the world on youtube, I have noticed that sometimes, we call the same vegetables by different names. I think what you are planting there, we call "butter beans" in America -- at least in the south and west, where I've lived. And... this is autumn for you, isn't it? So, it's not a time I would think of to *start* a garden, but always thought it would be a good thing. Thanks for sharing.Very helpful.
@ShushLorraine - the difference being however that butter beans have next to no protein, whereas "broad" / "fava" beans are very high in protein and can fill you up for dinner with little else added to them other than a little grain and cheese.
i am planrting windsor broad beans here also. and the funny thing is that i live in windsor ( ontario) i never ate them before but i cant wait to see what they look like!
I planted some broad beans last year, about 30mm deep and they were up in about 3-4 days. Would they maybe develop a better root system if I planted them deeper?
You are such a dedicated gardener - are those squash in the back there? I'm waiting for my Soy Beans to sprout - tried carrots this year - but my chickens got to the tapes and I think they ate them all. lol
But they left the radishes alone. Figures. lol
Like the new hair cut - miss your side burns. :?)
They sure are easy. Lots of beans from one shoot. That garden patch is looking good.
