when you play for fun, you are an ametuer, which comes from the french word for love, which means that you love what you do. professional means you play for money. it is not a measure of skill level, bur rather a description of why you play. so in a sense you're right, you're not a pro, but you are a very good guitar player worthy of praise and recognition. bravo! from one ametuer to another.

Dude huge respect for trying but your technique is awfull! The backing track is a little poo as well. Your fingering is wrong and thats maybe what you struggle with but it also comes across that your not very musical. Close your eyes and listen to a tune and feel the groove. I'm self taught and as a professional sound engineer and a musician I like to hear and play along the groove. Do an hour on technique and an hour on groove with a loop every day. 6 Months and you will rock, MORE!!!!!!!

If you read my description, I'm using a Line6 TonePort.

That is a fun piece of equipment. Otherwise, just play around with your guitar knobs and amp settings until you find something that sounds good to YOU. :)

I never used Ableton Live, but for Adobe Audition I just go to the input options and choose the UX2 for direct recording. Perhaps the option will appear in Ableton as well.

The tone's better when not compressed for YouTube. The soundclick link sounds better, IMO.
