  • There was no one like Gene. No one.

  • I adore Gene Pitney! Had a teen crush on him, many years ago! I had the pleasure of meeting him once during one of his Shower of Stars shows in the 60's! I have never forgot that, to this day I tell everyone it was a very big deal for me, and it was! I was a big fan then and still am! He was a great singer! RIP Gene!

I will be listening to your music till we meet in the great beyond and I finally get to hear you live with a celestial band backing up that incredible voice.

  • @xoxoNayNay1234 I wonder if he ever knew that those who grew up listening to his music and attending his concerts as young teens would still be loving his music now? 13 at my first GP concert, he was very young but always had the voice that would make young girls scream, and swoon at how handsome he was!

  • This is a wonderful tribute, covers a lot of his famouse hits, I used to go and see Gene whenever he came to England, all of my family also came along, my daughter as well as my son are big fans of Gene and love his music, we all miss him, he is irreplacable and a great brilliant performer like no other. Thanks for posting this video.

  • How I miss Gene. We love ya, Gene. Gene and I chatted on AOL IM for many years until he died, and I saw him every chance I could in concert. I was in Sydney, Australia when I learned of his passing.

Climbing out of SYD I tuned in local radio on the aircraft ADF radio (I flew a 747 for a major airline) and they were playing Gene's tunes in a tribute all the next day. Gene loved Australia, and they loved him.

  • Pitney died on April 5, 2006 at the age of 66. He was found dead by his tour manager in the Hilton Hotel in Cardiff, Wales in the middle of a UK tour. His Final Show at Cardiff's St David's Hall was deemed a huge success, with a standing ovation. An autopsy confirmed the singer died of natural causes.
