What are the additional societal costs she always brings up? I don't know anyone that's gone for marijuana abuse treatment, or been hospitalized due to marijuana use. She uses the assumption that pot is as harmful as alcohol which simply isn't the case. She could possibly argue impaired driving rates may increase, but it doesn't seem like a lot of people are getting into accidents or charged for impaired due to weed. The societal cost argument is a lie, that's why it's never discussed in detail.

It's because these private stations do not want to be associated with marijuana because of the stigma and taboos surrounding it. Half of these producers are likely to use it themselves, but they wont openly admit to supporting it because it may be marketing suicide.
They aren't against the drug itself, but the taboos placed upon it.

It's also easy to grow tomatoes in my home but a lot of the time the backyard tomatoes aren't as good of quality as the farmers market or grocery store tomatoes. Substance abuse doesn't mean cannabis. All the problems are causes of addictive drugs if a addict can't get their drug they're not going to be very happy. In many situations when a citizen is charged with cannabis possession it's either jail or rehab. Rehab centers and prisons cost more to run when there are more people living in them.

Yeah I'm all about policy reform but I think there needs to be a reform within the cannabis community aswell as part of that process. I think if we took it upon ourselves to aid education and prevention efforts it would go along way to help our cause. Teens shouldn't use any drug and if they do they should do so with a knowledge of what they're doing. We gotta create a new image of the responsible user, not the gangsta or stoner who smoke all day cause thats cool or something.
