Minerals in the ground belongs to who finds it,,,,,,the minerals was there long time before the human race and no one can be the owner of what is down in the mother earth,,, so who find it should take it anyhow
Too bad they are leaving the native inuit people out of this when it is their land. Typical that companies just exploit resources with little consideration of the people who actually live there. As if we need rubies. Leave them in the ground where they belong. Greed makes people so blind, and for such short term benefit.
What part of "this is a mostly unpopulated area" don't you understand? Also, I live in an apartment in a city. It would be the landlord's. You fucking fail.
Well...I hope some smart inuit people become geologists and lawyers so that they can push for their claim of the land in the courts and then be able to extract the rubies themselves and enrich themselves.
As far as greed goes, I agree - man is full of greed almost to a point of illness. Yet, it's nothing new in human history and something that inuit people should expect and be ready to deal with. In the 50s/60s Canada's Union Church wiped out indians with smallpox to get & sell their land.

This is a mostly unpopulated area. Your leap to racism is silly, at any rate.
