hello raysteer,,i am having trouble finding the type of drill or auger they use to drill the long hole,,how did you do your fujara,,i hope to make a full size one,,
I know this is an old comment, but in case you're still about, I thought I'd offer up a suggestion.
I make Didgeridoos by splitting the wood middle for diddle (if it's ash) or by using a bandsaw. Then hollow it out with an arbortech, which in case you don't know, is a fitting for a standard angle grinder ( a round disc of chainsaw teeth).
Then... glued back together and held tight while it dries with jubilee clips.
I see no reason why a fujara can't be made this way
Hello pidgeonflipper, i made a two -third size one a few years ago, it works quite well, and a half -size this winter which isn't so good. This spring i have drilled out two full-sized tubes, which i hope to finish off in a year or so. Cutting the winday inside the tube is the most difficult bit because you cant see what you're doing with the chisel.
Well done, nice sound. I play fujara too, a little, and have started making them. I'm from Shropshire, England but now living in Ceske Budejovice in South Bohemia. See you around! keep playing.
I removed the comment that was below because a video about the fujara is not the place to have that type of comment. I don't mind negative comments on my playing or comments about other people comments, because it won't change much, but please keep the language clean.
DrumTeknique, no disrespect to yourself just chill out please. This isn't a fight and no one was attacking you. There is some good stuff on your profile page, and I'm sure you have lots of opinions to express, but try to keep the language civil. This is only a video about a fujara.
I played didgeridoo for 7 years before going to Australia and yes, I learned more afte rI went there but I learned a heck of a lot of technique and developed my own style on my own before hand. So play your fujura and have fun with it is what I'm really trying to say here.
I think it's great that you are interested in someting unique considering where you live....I'm sure you're one of the few who even have a fujuara in Czech Rep. Wether you have "visited someone at slovak and learned something think about it" doesn't matter!
hi, Im composer and player the fujara too. Im from Slovak from Detva and I can play tradicionaly and modern and others meanings of playing... but i think you should visit someone at slovak and learn some think about it....
Hello. I'll be the first to admit I'm no good on the Fujara and play for fun. But as mentioned in an earlier comment, I live in Ostrava, Czech Rep and have been to Slovakia may times and I bought this Fujara from a maker in Slovakia. You must be a good player from what I can understand. Your page is blank so please make us some nice video of you playing because there isn't much on youtube to watch.
dude fuck you, not everyone has to play an instrument the "Traditional" style, music is meant to be free endless possibilities to do whatever you want with whatever instrument....
Skladatel2207 sadly your one of those "by the book" musicians, governments control us with law, but you should never make rules or laws for music..
i believe you are to modest also,,,it sounded great, here in australia we have the digeridoo,,whish has some of the ability of your instrament,,,,but much harder to learn the breathing,,,thanks for shareing
The fujara is such a nice sounding flute. Mine doesn't do the low notes very well, but it still sounds alright and is fun to play. The didg, well, I love playing the didg and I do actually have a didgeridoo from Australia which hopefully I'll make a vid of soon.
Well you play good on fujara.I am from slovakia and i have visited many folklor festival Like Terchova, Vychodna and there you can buy this beautifull instrument.Slovakia rulez
hi my name is Tom and iam also from slovakia. I must ask one qestion. If you ever be in slovak country or in slovak moutains like Hight tatras or Small tatras..becouse that is very important for play on fujara
I like the part where he blows into it while it obscures his face.

Nice sound. I presently play saxes and flutes and a load of ethnic pipes and duduk. This one is my "Next to get" instrument- a unique timbre.
