Let me suggest something : Maybe the use of a stirling engine would be more efficient than solar cells, especially for low power applications. Stirlling engines efficiency can reach 40 to 45% compared to solar 10% or internal combustion maximum of25%. The goal would therefore be to divert a cold temperature source to initiate Karnaugh cycle. What do you think ?
Another idea would be to focus into a hitpoint cooled by flowing water, converting it to steam to supply a turbine. Depending on the mirror's surface, you can have enough energy to run it and produce some DC power.
great work. how low could something like this cost? would be great to make art projects with it.. energy too.. a robotic dog that catches the sun and plays with it..
It depens on what you are planning to build. If you know basic electronics, you can build something similar without using a controller. Just simple electronic components and motors (10-20$).
The Bible says that in the Last Days there will be those who will deny the coming of Jesus Christ and at the same time they will deny Creation and the Flood as recorded in the Bible. With such denials prevalent today, do you think we are living in the Last Days?
use a stirling engine instead of a solar cell

Thanks you guys.
You can do whatever you want, because if you calculate the focal point of the mirror and make your rotation around it then the things are easier :)

Μαμάτο... Έχει πλάκα!!!

Seems like this would be useful in solar power generation. Put an engine of some sort at the focal point for maximum energy gathering all day.
Very cool stuff.

Hey, maybe you could use a peltier pump to take advantage of the Seebeck effect and generate electricity that way!!!
tronicgr 2 years ago
The peltier power generator module has very small efficiency (4-4.5%).
Maybe I'll use a peltier cooler to cool the cell.

Great!
Lets hope the solar cell won't burnout by the heat!
