Actually, the game is intentioanlly set like that. Big men can actually do that to slip past thier defender, they just cant like do it with extreme force to the point where the defender is thrown away. That nove kg pulle d at 2:22 happens all the time, well atleast I see it alot.
when kobe made the shot @ 1:57...it sounded so authentic from the rim sound to the net sound...if you been to a nba game you would know what im talkin bout,but im still gettin 2k9..ima rent this and give a shot,im fair.
I played the demo of live and I can say that in some gameplay aspects it could be better than 2k. One thing that I love is being able to shoot a fade away jump shot close to the paint unlike in last year 2k where you would always shoot a hook shot. The only thing I have a problem with in live is the jumping to block shots, but the rebounding is improved. I will have to wait until I play 2k9 demo to fully compare the two.
Playing this game did u notice there is no Hop-step? what kinda nba game doesn't have a hopstep botton, i was planing on buying Live this year but when i noticed that i changed my mind to 2k

This year Live might be better again. I used to think 2k was better a few years ago. But the last couple of years Live has been so much better. Even Live 2008 is waaay better than 2k8. In 2k8 players look fake and plastic. I hate the choppy frames too. I downloaded the demo for Live '09 and its sick. The graphics are hot and the faces look way better. But I gotta learn the controls. So far Live is good but Im gonna get 2k9 also.

2k8 got "worst" because they implemented new things like the defense lock on and most of the complaints of the reviews came from the missed layups which really is natural if you want to make your game a true sim.

And even if 2k fucked up last year it still managed to get a better score than live.
They did not make the game from scratch so its not considered as "rebuilding". They still did not get the gameplay right based on these video demos. It did improve nobody can deny that but its far from a SIM and I think that the engine should be totally reworked from scratch to get the gameplay right.

I tried this demo and it looks good, but still, some of the mechanics need work. For example, I had Rondo pass to Pierce who was at the 3 point line, then I accidentally pressed the x button (layup/dunk) and Pierce drove in for a layup. I got 3 points for that and he was in the paint. no lie.
Actually that was in the 07 edition. X(square) was the layup and Y(triangle) was the dunk button.
I think that this year, they combined the two because the Y or triangle button is supposed to be for play calling or w/e new feature they have put into the game.
Live 09 is the same. Only u cant hit the back of the backboard when ur under hoop. 2k9 got shotstick advanced so u can change ur shoot in the air. So u know buy 2k9 so I can find some challenges online when it comes out

im a 2k guy all the way but last year, live 08 gained some ground on 2k8. I've been the live 09 demo and its even better. if 2k9 is a clone of last year with updated rosters and recycled graphics like last year - then I may have to switch sides. but then again 2k9 could awesome - arrghh choices choices...

I'll admit the live 09 demo is nice i was a live fan now im a 2k fan since live disapointed me with live 07 ever since then i think 2k7 and 2k8 killed live dats why EA tried to buy 2k!!!! But live looks good this year 2k has to step up or 09 is LIVE...

2 minutes with only two quarters. It's always been 2 minutes for basketball demos.
(Wish it could have been at least 5 or 6 minutes with 2 quarters. I can only get 10-20 ppg with the 2 minute settings)

This year Live might be better again. I used to think 2k was better a few years ago. But the last couple of years Live has been so much better. Even Live 2008 is waaay better than 2k8. In 2k8 players look fake and plastic. I hate the choppy frames too. I downloaded the demo for Live '09 and its sick. The graphics are hot and the faces look way better. But I gotta learn the controls. So far Live is good but Im gonna get 2k9 also.

Yea but 2k8 was worst than 2k7. NBA 2k7 was rated 9.0 in one article while 2k8 only got a 8. How do they come out worst than the year before? To me 2k8 should of got a 0 because how are you gonna make the new game worse than the last one? That shit sucks. Live is making improvements getting better and better each year while 2k is fucking up and making shit worse. I think Live 08 was alot better. 2k8 got "worst" because they implemented new things like the defense lock on and most of the complaints of the reviews came from the missed layups which really is natural if you want to make your game a true sim.
And how do you know that 2k9 is fucking up when there are no gameplay vids yet (which kinda sucks for 2k fans)?
And how can live 07 also fall way below after live 06?
And even if 2k fucked up last year it still managed to get a better score than live.

live has been in a rebuilding process the last few years and they are just now starting to get things right.

They did not make the game from scratch so its not considered as "rebuilding". They still did not get the gameplay right based on these video demos. It did improve nobody can deny that but its far from a SIM and I think that the engine should be totally reworked from scratch to get the gameplay right.

2k8 got lower than live 08? Most of the reviews i saw said 2k was still slightly better than live last year. I was fine with the patch. It's cool to play on 5 min quarters and still have realistic final scores.

Are u on a new drug? Cause the gameplay looks like the same old shit as last year. The features are new, the players look a little diffrent then last year but the gameplay is the same. DNA, a very nice feature 2 the gm, is any1 gonna use it to help them winb in season mode. I dont think so.What if a player dosent follow what the DNA thing says. I tried this demo and it looks good, but still, some of the mechanics need work. For example, I had Rondo pass to Pierce who was at the 3 point line, then I accidentally pressed the x button (layup/dunk) and Pierce drove in for a layup. I got 3 points for that and he was in the paint. no lie.

Actually that was in the 07 edition. X(square) was the layup and Y(triangle) was the dunk button.
I think that this year, they combined the two because the Y or triangle button is supposed to be for play calling or w/e new feature they have put into the game.

Live 09 is the same. Only u cant hit the back of the backboard when ur under hoop. 2k9 got shotstick advanced so u can change ur shoot in the air. So u know buy 2k9 so I can find some challenges online when it comes out

Nba live 365 enhances it so the cpu plays like that player would in real life, not what the cpu wants.NBA rewind lets you play some of the closest, exciting games again, almost like madden moments. New pick and roll control, sig. play calling, huge feature ( NBA academy) will be amazing, and quickstrike ankle breakers. Dont tell me NBA live is the same son.

I think people say that live is the same because of the gameplay. Sure EA has these "features" but they never got the gameplay right. THe mechanics has been the same with the previous live titles like live 98 (and no I am not exaggerating).
