Some born-again Christians may find the character offensive, but after some heavy drinking they become born-again alcoholics and lighten up considerably. So, ply these judgemental people with lots of hard liquor.

I rarely agree with someone commenting, but yeah, I kinda do with you.. after some heavy drinking, they DO become born-again alcoholics *cheesy rim-shot*
On the serious side, yeah, there is always going to be those overly-obsessive types finding offense in EVERYTHING. However, a good friend of mine is a Catholic priest (of the non-molesting variety) and he LOVES "Reaper" as I do.

There should be no whining over something as small as incorporating the devil in a comedy.

@NSEmmy79 Reaper may deal with dark subject matter (the devil, hell, demons) but there are a lot of positives as well, such as the devil's candid moment with sam admitting to having loved God, Steve making it to heaven, trying to get Stevie baptized to wash away original sin, etc. People are so quick to freak out about the fact that it's a show where the devil is a main character, that they don't bother looking for anything positive.
