@1234Dekka You're now coming across as a complete idiot, car registrations are public information and fully on display in public area's by law. All UK registered motorised vehicle details are freely available on the internet.
Do you cover your registrations plates up when your driving on public roads in front of the public, some of whom maybe criminals.
If you keep punishing cyclists for things you do not like it will not belong before you kill or seriously injure someone.
Further to my comment below however I can see from the vid that this driver passed too close. It was particularly silly considering the room he had to overtake safely.
@dannyfrench78 Thanks. It's good to hear from one of the normally silent majority of good drivers rather than the normal set of idiots that seem to comment abusiively about what are after all just straight video clips of what actualy happened.
im a bus driver, and I always drive courteously around cyclists....not because I like them, in fact I think MOST (not all) of them are absolute assholes. The reason I drive carefully around them is because I care about my licence and I couldnt live with the guilt of injuring or killing someone.
In my many years of bus driving experience I can honestly say I could count the number of good cyclists I have encountered on the fingers of one hand.
@dannyfrench78 Sorry to hear you have had such bad luck with the cyclists you encounter. I find that, just like bus drivers, most cyclists I encounter are careful, thoughtful and courteous, but there are some bad ones. In both cases, I think the bad ones are few, but still too many, and they tend to stick in the mind.
@dannyfrench78 From my experience of Swindon bus drivers I think you representative the vast majority of bus drivers.
It's unfortunate the video's on YouTube are normally of the bad one's, probably because they are more noticeable due the high standard of other bus drivers being something we consider normal and therefore not worthy of uploading to YouTube, if that makes any sense. My opinion is bad bus drivers are the exception not the norm.
First wont do anything. Youre wasting your time filming, its for your own gratification only. You need to take up more hobbies that will take more of your time up, maybe then it will stop you posting stupid videos on here. Anyway i guess you will have a lot of people at your funeral, waving you goodbye.
@policeserg Signed up today have we..? Why the harrassment? You do realise that if you're the driver or known to them your ISP is fully traceable. It dont look good for you, does it sunshine. Grow up, behave. Simple as that.
That bus driver's just sharing the road... You use the bicycle lane, and he can also use the bicycle lane. That's sharing right? Or is it swerving? As soon as he crossed the line into the bike lane, he's committed a ticketable offense. Literally, that's where he crossed the line: Report it.
@WellingtonBikeCam01 Unfortunately not. the dashed line there denotes a so-called advisory cycle lane, which means that motor vehicles "should not" (as opposed to "must not") enter it unless it is unavoidable. In other words, the dashed line means absoluely nothing at all. The driver's offence is driving without due care and attention, or driving without due consideration for other road users.
@MrGrumpycyclist - Damn! That's crazy... if it's unavoidable, eg to avoid a collision or road hazard, then a motor vehicle would arguably be justified swerving into a "bicycle only" lane, so long as it's not creating a hazard to anyone using that lane. So that "advisory cycle lane" really is an interesting form of "sharing the road"... What's mine is yours, and what's yours is also yours.
@WellingtonBikeCam01 Well, cyclists aren't obliged to stay in the cycle lane either. The paint on the road serves absolutely no purpose in this case. We do have mandatory cycle lanes, which are denoted by a solid white line. They are only mandatory in the sense that motor vehicles are not allowed to enter them - cycles still are not obliged to use them.
One problem is that mandatory cycle lanes require a long, drawn out consultation process before they can be installed.

@1234Dekka Civil servants only come under the DPA if they are privvie to sensitive information. You work for a bus company (if what you say is correct) - therefore you a) work as an individual for a private company and b) are not privvie to sensitive info.
Also, are you seeing things? There was nothing in the right turn lane, you could have moved over quite easily. Even with the car that eventually followed
@1234Dekka if you are goong to make silly little threats about running me off the road I suggest you keep an eye on your side mirror for a 44 tonne truck, then we'll see whos boss.
@1234Dekka judging by the silly tram driving videos on yor user you need to step outside and look at the real world ;) Ah well I guess some people passed their driving test by the skin of their teeth abd promptly forgot everything.
Firstly, how far away from the kerb do you want to cycle? You're almost on the white line. I see from your other videos that you like to be nearer the middle of the road too.
Secondly, you clearly turned & looked over your shoulder a few seconds before the bus got there so you knew it was there, why didn't you move to the left? If not to let it past, at least to prevent any passing air turbulance caused by it from hitting you.
@treefire1 My camera is mounted on the side of my helmet, 5.5 inches to the right of centre. My wheels would have passed about 2 inches to the right of the surface water drain. However, everything you said is irrelevant. The bus driver passed far too close; end of story.
I think you mean sometimes riding in the centre of the lane, as recommended by the DfT, the IAM, the Bikeability national training scheme and countless other authorities that know a damn sight more about it than you do.
@treefire1 He has no obligation to move out of the way of passing vehicles, they have an obligation under the road traffic act and highway code to make sure they pass safely. Skimming a cyclist is not safe. The government's own guidence actually states between 60-100cm from the kerb for "secondary" (Bikeability, National Standards and IAM cycle training ALL teach this).
Shoulder checks are also taught, these are also taught to motor bikers. Called a "life saver".
watch your own footage...its people like you that should not be on the road with a bike...do yourself a favout take early retirement...your not putting yourself at risk there
btw all comments have ben copied and will be handed to the police tomorrow when i go and see them....
@1234Dekka Rediculous. By law cyclists, horse riders and pedestrians have more right to the road than motor vehicles. Motor vehicles are only there by the agreement in the Statutes on the licencing terms.
@1234Dekka The police will put straight in to the bin where it belongs. Maybe you will prompt the police to look at the video in question and decide whether to pursue the driver of the bus.
@1234Dekka I'd rather be a nerd than you, in fact I rather be anything else but you or even remotely like you. Using a bus to punish someone for doing something you don't like is great indicator of the daily wail/daily sport reader, I mean picture scanner, you are.
@1234Dekka Ooh really? You're getting prosecuted for that driving as well as a bus company disciplinary hearing? What an own goal. I'll bet you never dare to drive badly around another cyclist ever again. There are thousands and thousands of cyclists out there with cameras, and more are appearing all the time. We're tired of having to put up with driving such as yours, and are using cameras to bring consequences for driver misbehaviour.
@CyclingMikey spot on - cameras are getting cheaper and cheaper, with any luck, once we reach critical mass, even the most selfish of drivers might think twice as they try and bully us off the road

Maybe dropping a message to his employers with the video footage will assist in his education.
Now may I ask, why did he, when he over-took you @ :10, not just stay where he was, in the centre of 'his' lane, but @ :11 manoeuvred over the line into or about into the cycle lane? Looks to me, that he deliberately swerved towards you?! Please correct me if I am wrong. ; > ]
@busog97641 whatch the bloody video mate...the white car was at the side of ...as the cyclist came outof his what he calls his cycle lane,,,study the facts and video and both of you i have copied everything fromn here lso informing the police....tomorrow...as it a road traffic violation using a spy camera whilst deiving a cycle or moto r veehicle...
@1234Dekka Okay, watched it, got it, where in the video is there a white car, that caused 'you' to swerve into the cycle lane, and if so, you would rather hit, kill, or at least do serious harm to a cyclist, than maybe hit a car. Why not apply your brakes, that is what they are for? Where is it written that helmet camera is considered a 'Spy Camera'?
@1234Dekka "... informing the police....tomorrow...as it a road traffic violation using a spy camera whilst deiving a cycle or moto r veehicle" ROTFL Which part of the Road Traffic Act is that then?
In any case, what is that little black dome shaped thing above the First logo on the back of your bus, and the similar ones on the sides and front?
and i' will say this much you are risking quite possibly a 2000 pound fine or 6, months in prison.....so my suggestion is you are not framing me as i did notthing wrong apart from avert a very or what could have been a very nasty accident...
@busog97641 like i have said to the others wiht their deframatory comments please watch what you say as i will slap a cout order on whomever pulss me down i did nothing wrong...LOOK AT THE VIDEO...well the site is gonna be down hopefully in the next few days ip recored and hopefully a lifetime ban....

But of course, the 10cm or so of white, dashed line keeps you safe from him passing *just about* in his own lane...
