George Forman made a big mistake in the Djungle. It was so hot. If George had been smarter at that time, he could easily had waited out Ali. But in psychology Ali was the smartest boxer ever. Georg Forman was one of the greatest ever, but The Rumble i.t.j. destryed him for some years. And so on...

Its very simple, the most brutal uppercut by definition must put your lights OUT. Mike is still standing and it take another 3 punches to put him down. I'm no Tyson fan boy in fact i don't think he was a particularly good boxer, more of a street fighter but if you look at the uppercuts he made that connected solid they generally knocked the other guy out COLD. Basically the most brutal uppercut has to be delivered by the most brutal puncher and that is probably Tyson.

It may well have got to 10, but Tyson lost that prospect with his actions. Buster's comeback was legendary and a lesson against premature stoppages.

The only difference is that you are less likely to get cut, however, the force of the punch can still be felt. If you were to get hit in the nose or the mouth, you would say otherwise. Douglas stayed down until the 8 count like a fighter is trained to do....it's not his fault the ref was slow, he took advantage of it. It was clear over the next 2 rounds that he was indeed NOT hurt...what a lame ass excuse..then and now, laughable.

Don King appealed and forced Tyson to go along with it but read "The Last Great Fight" a book that interviews both Mike and JBD about that fight. Tyson states that the appeal was bullshit and he only went along with it because of King. JBD was a deserved winner of that fight, Tyson got battered that night.

@DRobblarg They aren't pillows, they're gloves. You obviously haven't taken hits with some gloves. It's not much different from bare fists. The only difference is that you are less likely to get cut, however, the force of the punch can still be felt. If you were to get hit in the nose or the mouth, you would say otherwise. I have actually made a dude quit after one hit with gloves, with bare fists, we went at it- I couldn't hit him as hard. Hits with gloves, carry a lot more force at times.
