  • I m in the weird part of Youtube AGAIN ?!??

  • @TheIkonic For every idiot who makes this comment, an orphan dies.

  • i don't know what to watch next, that was so enlightening hahahahahaahh

  • This is like Weird Al gone extremely retarted

  • Why do they sing nobody knows who you are? They said a hundred times they are called dog police.

  • Oh lord.....I had no idea crap like this existed! Some mysterious force actually willed me to download this and save it for posterity as a true living testament to the artistic folly of man.

  • COCAINE'S ONE HELL OF A DRUG!

  • LOL, the musicians in this group are actually musical geniuses. No shit. Memphis, TN. The guy singing is a brilliant jazz drummer.

    ever.

  • this is shit

  • Some rich daddy had too much money so his douchebag son bought a camera and some cocain, rented some hookers, a suck band and a dingy night club and forgot to throw the film away after utter failure.

  • what the fuck is this hahahaha

  • Poor Tyrion :(

  • What the flying fuck?

  • This was there submission to MTV for a video contest, loved it then....thanks for posting.

  • Reminds me of Billy Ocean's Loverboy video. Just as weird and offbeat.

  • Are there any more songs from this band on Youtube? This made me instant fan

  • Unlike most folks that remember this from MTV Basement Tapes, I saw this gem on the late-late-night video show Rock-N-America, hosted by Rich Ducommun, then Frazer Smith. Thumbs up if you remember that show!

  • the creepiest video ever o_O

  • I wonder if these guys ever caught flack from the producers of the PBS children's show "The Electric Company," since the song's refrain is identical to the one accompanying the show's "Spidey" segments: "Spiderman! Where are you coming from, Spiderman! Nobody knows who you are!"

  • @cinemasailor So that's what they're saying in the chorus! All I could make out was "Dog Police" and the words "you" and "from."

  • I remember seeing this video on MTV as a kid in the mid-80s. I remember thinking it was dumb even back then.

  • What the everloving fuck?

  • i se what william h macy did in the 80's

  • Anyone notice the guy's glasses don't have lenses?

  • i own the lp of this

  • I remember this being on the Basement Tapes back in the 1980s. People thought it was awful when it was compared to Duran Duran and Pat Benatar. However, when compared to Jersey Shore and Soulja Boy, Dog Police are gods.

  • Is that William H. Macy? If so he kicks even more ass.

  • damn it /b/

  • I remember this! This won the first MTV Basement Tapes contest. Kinda makes me wonder what the competition must have been like. Nonetheless I love it!

  • @Zzyyxxyyxx Yes! It was on MTV's Basement tapes. I remember this. Those were the days.

  • I'm a bit curious about the first part; was she a wanted criminal, or was there some sort of species segregation in place?

  • So proud of my uncle this is odd but great!

  • cocaine in the bathroom!!

is that William H. Macy in yellow?

  • ahhhhhh the 80s! never will the world see such an ecclectic collection of .. well.. whatever this was.... lol

  • Come on people, you have to admit this beat Snookie by orders of magnitude.

Young folks just don't realize how great MTV once was.

  • is the midget the guy from game of thrones?

  • What the fuck was wrong with the 80's?!

  • it's ...*tear* beautiful

  • What the fuck is this shit?

  • @NocaCoco the best shit

  • Bestiality's anthem.

  • This was on MTV's Basement Tapes.

  • Nice body. I'd do her even with the dog face.

  • I can't wait to show this to people on acid

  • Comment removed

  • 101 people got caught by the dog police

  • I DEMAND TO KNOW THE MEANING OF THIS BULLS***

  • @harakiem Back in the early 1980s, MTV ran a contest for amateur music videos, and this was one of the entries.

  • Lore sent me... and I don't... know... why...?

  • omfg this is hilarious, you win lore.

  • ahaha lore :D

  • Damn Lore, wtf hahaha

  • Thumbs up if Lore sent you here

  • i loved this when it came out on mtv! the first winner of the basement tapes, i believe.

  • William H. Macy @ 1min 40 sec.???? Wearing yellow.

  • um excuse me. wtf?

  • The midget looks like john c reilly

  • 2:06 The guy in yellow looks just like William H Macy

  • Why can't I stop replaying this?

  • Man, you can't help but laugh at this video!!! I don't know whatever happened to these guys but they left a comical musical gem for all of us to trip out and cherish!!!

  • Bear cavalry? We got the mother fuggin DOG POLICE!

  • I ACTUALLY DO REMEMBER THIS! DID THESE GUYS EVER GO BEYOND THE MTV BASEMENT TAPES? DID THEY MAKE A REAL ALBUM? THIS WAS '84, JUST AFTER WEIRD AL CRACKED THE COMEDY ALBUM MARKET, SO THESE GUYS WERE PROBABLY TRYING TO GET IN ON THAT ACTION. WONDER WHERE THEY'RE AT NOW...PROBABLY GRANDPAS BY NOW. WELL HERE'S ONE FOR THE GRANDKIDS. AS I RECALL, DOG POLICE LOST THE MTV BASEMENT TAPES CONTEST TO A GROUP OF KIDS CALLED TRAK. THOSE 80s WERE FUN AND, WELL...FUNNY...

  • what the fuck?

  • der Hundenpolizei

    XD

  • Dogs that are police? Far out!

  • did i reLLLY just fucking watch this...

  • arf arf arf arf!!

  • whats happening :(

  • @kylexstonexfist I don't know. :(

  • AHHH! this is scary!!

  • My mind was just fucked

  • William H. Macey on keyboards.

  • LMAO

  • Dangerously furry, like most of the 80's.

  • What is this I don't even...

  • Best part is @ 2:08 when his bandmate is like, "What the f***????"

  • This video is the answer to the question "How big was cocaine in the 80's?"

  • I think I maybe saw this video once when I was a kid, but the chorus was so awful that I could never forget it.

  • Turns out they made a TV pilot based on this. It's terrible.

  • what a rip off of the Electric Company! C+P into url /watch?v=uss_QTqWNAQ

  • @qubixrube how is this anything like that video? if i was going to rip off that video the first element i would steal is morgan freeman as a vampire

  • This looks like a Tim and Eric sketch, with less LSD. I love it.

  • what in the fuck

  • This was our prom song.

  • I'll quit drinking, I swear!

  • Thanks for posting this. That damn chorus has been stuck in my head since seeing this video in the 80's.

  • The last thirty seconds are comprised of PURE TERROR.

  • the album is on What.CD, if you can get access to that site

  • The name of this band is "Dog Police" too. They re-released the album that "Dog Police" is on as well as a slew of other songs, like "1-800" on CD Baby....So now you can buy and listen to "Dog Police" whenever you want.

  • I just about shit myself every time I see them march in unison right towards me.

  • I doubt you could find it now. They were from Tennessee my home town in South Carolina ran an ad on a local TV station to order the lp back in the eighties right after they were on The Basment Tapes, you might try Gemm.com. It was on a local label.

  • I loved this band I even found their LP they did on a indie label.

  • @SGMICKEY WHERE? I MUST LISTEN TO IT!

  • I remember when this was on the Basement Tapes on MTV--this video lost in the final to a band called "Rail" I think there song was something like "1-2-3-" big hair, bobbing back and forth, all the hair band cliches. I was so annoyed this video lost.

  • Wonderful!

  • Thank goodness for Youtube and those who post this awesome obscure stuff. This is what defined MTV as a cool station. Not sure what the hell happened...

  • I remember when MTV would play this during the time when MTV played videos.

  • omg this is insanity in its purest form

  • Love this - never get tired of it.

  • I'm in love. Totally. Thank you so much !

  • arf

  • i had this video taped off of a show called friday night videos back in the 80s...we thought it was funny as hell back then....my sister recorded a soap opera over it...shes lucky shes still alive...lol

  • so shitty that its actually catchy and sticks in your memory

  • Someone was taking some gooood acid when they thought up this song.

  • I REMEMBER THIS! I totally remember this! Thank you, ALtv for exposing me to culture.

  • What The Actual Fuck(:

  • So like, I guess these guys listened to Talking Heads, thought, "David Byrne sounds so goofy, but he doesn't sing about goofy things. I GUESS WE SHOULD MAKE A SONG ABOUT DOG POLICE NOW."

  • The girl looks like that danielle from the real houswives of new jersey

  • I agree with badger500.

Thanks for posting this bastardang! I've been looking for this video (and any sign that this song existed) for a long time. I'd tell people about this vid, but could never find any trace of it. Thanks!

  • This should be made into a musical!

  • Ha Ha! William H Macy. I actually really thought it might be him. I looked it up and it isn't. But the point of the story is: I actually LOOKED IT UP! That's how much I thought it was him!

  • I've done the math. This song is, exactly, 12358.823476 time better than it has any right to be.

I'd show my work, but um, there's not enough room.... character limit, ya know...

  • Best. Song. Ever.

    Best. Video. Ever.

    Best. Frontman. Ever.

  • I can't believe this exists...

  • I don't know what's worse. That Youtube has this video, or that I was actually looking for it.

  • why did this happen

  • WAT

  • singer kind of looks like a dog imo

  • not william macy... tony thomas

  • This video is the meaning of life.

  • this could very well be...no this IS the greatest song and video of all time.

  • 2:09 = William H. Macy

  • I appreciate the internet for its existence! This is a MASTERPIECE! :D

  • This music video is what happens when Weird Al does acid, weed and crack in one big shot :\

  • if you take out the lyrics it sounds like a fanfarre for some RPG.

  • What...in the fuck was that.

  • @BlackMudcrabDL DO I KNOW YOU ;D

  • I don't think it was their intention to create a music video that so closely resembles the lucid nightmares of a meth addict.

  • 2:18 No Steve Gadd don't eat the puppy!

  • That was fucking awesome.

  • lmao this is such a gay vid lol

  • This is what happens when you do WAY too much cocaine and decide to make a video about "Dog Police". Shameful.

  • i think watching that made me have a seizure

  • Who is to blame for the creation of this?

  • @GreenGrayBlack Barack Obama

  • The is the worst thing ever.

  • ooooooooooookkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkaaaaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy

  • thank you for this video.,It's a true Treasure...~

  • what

  • weird to hear the origin of the Itchy & Scratchy theme in there. thanks for posting!

  • They kind of remind me of the B-52's.

  • The 2 Dog Police videos were created in Memphis w bassist Sam Shoup; keyboardist Tony Thomas, and drummer Tom Lonardo

Tom is mostly featured on this and the 1-800 video

Tony has lost some hair. You can find them by searching for:

The Tony Thomas Trio, Jumping Chi Chi's, Memphis, Tn

  • The chorus really really reminds me of King Crimson for some reason.

  • So does anyone know the name of the band?

  • Punk fucking rock!

  • dude in the yellow is William H Macy

  • Guuh,,,

Why am i watching this shit? I'm drunk, this is fucking hurting my sanity
