As a period piece this film certainly merits some praise,but in it's sensational,overemphasis of the love/hate aspect of the relationship it fails considerably: one doesn't leave this film grasping the full impact of what Rimbaud was- the rogue teen that invented the 20th century. To the contrary, you come away appreciating Leo Decaprio than wanting to know more about this amazing individual who is infinitely more interesting.

@aggi18 They could have lifted each other up, but they couldn't deal with their mutual dependence, they kept feeding it. You have to be at one with yourself before you can be at one with another. We studied these poets in highschool but no-one told us "anything" about them, even if poet biographies were all the rage. Amazing... I was also a fan of DiCaprio (wrote a list of his films) but never came across this film. It would've helped me deal with highschool. Ah well, water under the bridge..

Interesting new video DW. I may have not seen the movie, but I think if I did, I would see that you did a good job in capturing the emotion of both chars and their romantic lifestyle. The song did well to fit the song also as you put in good effort to find the proper song. :) I guess in one of the scenes, the younger lover went a bit insane since he stabbed his own hand which has to do with the dark violent side of the relationship, right?
