I really dont understand why they didnt put black and white dye in the shops like they did with the rest... They could have made them more expensive then the others...If they really want those 2 dyes to be more rare.

yeah where the hell they get all those colors in the real game all you get are like 4 faded looking crap colors for Eylos that is at least. I know some plants you can pick and buy for a fortune in AH can dye armor with too. But the dye selection is highly limited.
Aion is the best, i play a free server called Infinite aion, at first it had a lot of bugs but now is great i am 46 sorc , i go everyday to kill big bosses with my legion, i pk asmos in abbys and i have lots of fun, is much better than wow..
Yea, IA is gettin up there nicely. ^^ ive got a 43 elyos ranger on the Siel server and asmodian 50 temp, sorc, cleric, and a soon to be lvl 50 chanter on Lumiel. ^^ Look for Adept on lumiel, thats my legion
I'm glad they implemented this. I used to play WoW some time ago, where you either get the equipment with the best stats (no matter how it looks or if it matches) or you get RAPED BY EVERYTHING. So naturally, you're constantly forced to look like you where farted out of Picasso's ass.
Now this improvement here is purely cosmetic, yes, but at least we can FINALLY look badass AND have good equipment/stats at the same time.

hey guys... champions is way better.. aion is a piece of art.. but the gameplay is shit.. ur gonna just quit at lvl 20.. or 22... champions is WAY FUNNER.. as you get to fly everywere. jump.. glide.. whatever.. a bunch of super powers to pick.. its amaizing cartoon graphics.. its AZUM
Just like you two I played Champions Online for a few months then I got bored and cancelled my subscription. The game gets boring after awhile. I'm thinking of getting this or Age of Conan.
Play WoW. For me, World of Warcraft have some unique feeling and gameplay. I would try Aion, but I'm pretty sure I would go back to wow in no time. Those Blizzard guys just know how to roll a game. Even if players complain just about everything.

Unfortunately while you will be unique in your appearance you won't be very unique in terms of your abilities since aion ability customisation very limited.
Even though manastone-godstone, stigmas and title doesn't seem like much character stat customazation, when you get down to it, it makes a pretty big difference. Though I was expecting a little more then that...still not bad though ^^
No it is different Pieces, head paldrons gauntlets Etc,.
all of the lower levels gear colors all match in sets. and theres no pieces of gear that have "of the bear, wolf, owl, etc." you get base stats on all armor but Most armor pieces have Manastone Sockets. Manastones are litte magic rock things that (drop all the time its sweet) and you can socket them onto your gear, so not only does all the gear look good on you. All of your armor and weapons are fully customizable right there at level 1.
@MyGuruLife you can remodel your items, so if you get a nice set you want to look like, you can remodel your gear to look like it, then as you upgrade gear just use the old piece to remodel the new one
The Dye system was one of a hell good feature in GW, i'm glad they put it in Aion !
I'm pretty sure the majority of people will chose black dye. In GW, the black dyes were very expensive due to the fact that people wanted them so much. The same thing will, in my opinion, happens in Aion. Not everyone will be black, that's for sure.
Yes. Like $1200 (if I recal correctly) per dye. Very cheap.
Those of you trying a NA(not sure about EU) server will not see all the colors listed. There is only 4 currently. I'm sure they will add more with updates.
for Hair ,eyes ,skin and every early character setup IS 1-255 colors . I notice in thevideo not normal colors , so dont think that for dyes they offer less options.. that at the start of the game.
You get Dyes later in game.. so cant say for sure which way it is.. but i bet they included that option also for dyes.
well the reason its so expensive in GW is cause everyone wants it, so you shouldn't be surprised if it still is here :) (btw its rather expensive in Lord of the rings online aswell).
I think WoW is where Everquest was when WoW hit the market 5 years ago. After 5 years only the truely hardcore are going to stay with a game, in other words the people who raid like it's a job. I know a few of them. lol.
at wows PEAK there was 15 million subscribers (not players, people with 5 accounts count as 5 subscribers) this was when wotlk came out and now i believe its down to around 9 million maybe... last i checked aion has around 4 million subscribers and that was a couple of months i believe that this is going to be the biggest contender to the champion of mmo and we'll see that next year
Well, part of the reason why WoW's population hiccuped like that was the China WoW fiasco. Losing access to WoW, a lot of people had moved to Aion. I'm expecting another huge chunk to follow when the NA/EU release happens as well.
see there might not be alot of theres a feature where u can remodel your armor after one that u like, say the lvl 50 gladiator set doesnt look good to you, go to the guy i guess, tell him to remodel this to a set u like and bam, got the best stats and your favorite set, this also makes ppl to not determine your level by your appearence, this is also happening to weapons but u can make an axe remodeled to a sword, has to be the same type, this goes for armor as well, cant redo cloth into plate.
blizzard has no excuse with the money they rake in they could surely find all the talent and man power they need. How hard is it to fix blink saying its too hard is a pathetic excuse.

Sorry I didnt answer your question :P. You see, WOTLK did not and is not going to let you even fight the litch king. I cataclysm, your going to be able to kill him but once you do you do that doesnt mean it's done anymore. You can now go to cataclysm (Used to be GM island, the one in the whirlpool). I gotta say. I like aion. It's good. But it seems like any other NCsoft game. The game as I said is dull. But if you guys want somthing new, this is your solution. This game lacks ALOT though.
What exactly is it you agree with? I have played WoW for 3 years, this is nothing like wow, this is nothing like any of the other NCSoft games either, I played GW, Lineage 2, I played CoX and this is nothing like any of those. This is new, unique and will be a nice change.
How do you know. Im playing the open beta right now and its pretty damn fun. Low levels arent as fun but then again when is being low really that fun? NCsoft listens to thier players and will add or remove stuff that people dont like. Last night one of the servers had become extremely laggy and within 5 min i was seeing GM messages about it. Server was brought down 10 min later and 45 min later when i logged in it was lag free. NCsoft strives to polish and get rid of bugs. Blizz makes excuses.
Okay, after leveling to level 10, did you notice everything started to get old? Another thing, WoW cant do things so fast due to one thing, WORK. Right now they are working on 3 major titles. Which slows everything down. I agree, they are a LITTLE to slow. But hey, as they say, precrastination makes perfect.
I didn't mind at level 10 and at level 10 is when things just start to get different. I think the real game starts are 25 when you can go into the abyss for pvp. I get bored of wow after a few weeks then I have to take a break. Basically play what you like who cares what other people think. Problem i have with wow is its too gear dependent and pvp is really shitty now.
Meh, dont get me wrong WoWs PVP went down the tubes but how is armor to dependent? The PVP is bad, but it is still enjoyable to pwn some noobs? You know what I mean?>
Aion is extremely gear dependent. I'd say a lot more than WoW. I saw a video a long time ago when 60 was cap of a naked rogue with a barman shanker killing everyone. If you tried that in this game you'd get raped, it's because their are so many modifiers and manastones on armor and weapons in this game.

Old features, but perhaps it is better done in Aion? Aion is a game with nothing new, but so was WoW. Aion looks like it is doing what WoW did, taking everything from previous games and expanding upon it.

IN an mmo its very risky to try and come up with totally new stuff and theres only so much new things you can do. the best idea is too take all the good examples form other games and ditch the rest then add new stuff as an experiment. Besides all that ncsoft is much more talented than blizzard.

Ive seen alot end lvl stuff from CAion and ive only seen flight used to get away from a particular area etc.
NCsoft incorporated it because it would add new dimenions to BOTH travel and combat, althought atm its main and most practical use is thru travel only.
Well when your in combat and flying your physical attack is increased by 10%. Flying is usually used in the abyss to get to other locations. Gliding is also really common. Cause theres a lot of places you cant fly. But you can glide.
wings are a stratigetic item in the game. You are more vonerable flying then on the ground. some skills can only be used on the ground or in the sky. Wings ad a 3d effect to the game with no other mmo has *Wow* cough cough. ncsoft tryed to make a different game and they did.
Limited flying time as you level up. But you get flying pretty early in the game. The idea is like you, a noob, a baby first start to use flying to get to short inaccessible places. Like a balcony, or a hilltop. As you get stronger, older, your stamina increases. Your wings grow, and you become a better flyer. A veteran of sorts. Flying is not just a travel form in Aion like it is in WoW. It's a core part of the game.
The armor dying is only a big deal if you're from that really popular game that doesn't let you dye your armor. If you've played daoc, warhammer, LOTRO, or any of a dozen others, armor dying is old hat.
Not mentioning the name of that game cause if I never hear it again it'll be too da*ned soon.
I'm really dissapointed in how linear the game is. It feels like you are on rails the entire time you are playing. And there is only one area in the game you can actually fly in. The rest of the game just has you sort of gliding when you try to fly. Not trying to bash the game, but those are the facts. It's not the "mmo-messiah" that so many of you seem to think it is going to be.
Sorry, but these are not facts. Have you actually played until level 50? For your comments I bet you played only the version 1.0 beta until 20 or so...
The fact is: the game is linear in the "tutorial levels". When you reach 20 you have 2 big areas to explore, and at level 25 you have 3 (abyss).
You can fly freely in 2 areas in the 10-20 region, and also the Abyss.
There are also mass-combat/sieges in the Abyss (lvl40 recommended).
Don't base your opinions on early levels. Also, we'll play 1.5.
Nobody has even played midgame, nevertheless endgame Phluff. The fact you can fly so early is there so that it becomes a part of your core gameplay. Flying is a part of daily life in Aion. It's not a mount, or a travel form. The idea of flying is not to skip content to reach point A -> B quicker. It is a part of the content and meant to enhance it. As the game progresses, so does your flying capability and skill.
That is true, and in PvP flying makes a huge difference, but gliding is actually used to get from point A to point B faster. this is because it really has no other advantage and is much faster then actually walking. The problem is you can't always glide haha.
gliding still used flight time etc. so NCSoft has put gliding in there for other reasons than just combat... It is a way of getting around quicker, otherwise there would be no need for its use ingame
NCSoft arent blind tho. Theres obvoiusly a reason for the flying to be incorporated earlier on, and from what you've said above it is to become infused in gameplay.. Travelling etc. is part of this "core gameplay" you're speaking about tho... And yes ur right, the real advantages of flying will be seen in later lvls during endgame content (or atleast thats how i interp your comment)... So why else would NCSoft put flying in public alpha and beta testing stages when the lvl cap is so low.
We don't need to know mechanics of Aion to say WOW suck from several years and only addicted ppl still saying good things about that game. Characters looks ugly, dynamics are zero. Many and more games overpassed WOW long ago only retarded fanboys not seeing it. Cabal have dynamical fighting while WOW is like soap opera, PW have lot better exploring and nice chars while WOW have fat ugly creatures with massacred faces and no comments about Tauren (child of human who fu**ed cow)

people are saying they quit wow just from seeing some eye candy. We don't yet know anything about the game mechanics, or even overall gameplay in the final release?
Everyone I've ever heard from that played the Beta writes RAVE reviews about this, one of the biggest things being the customization, flying, and in-depth, captivating story.
Is it possible these 'people' you heard from quit WoW because it's a stale-overrated MMORPG from 2004?
WoW is fine as a game, but it has gained the level of apotheosis just because Warcraft fans and casual gamers (yes, casual, they usually play Guitar Hero, Halo, etc. as well) gave it the popularity. It's just 'okay.'
Dye:ing armor was introduced in DaoC, so it was probably stolen from that game in the beginning =P. But who cares, if there is a good feature in a game. Why shouldn't you use it again?
Actually this game is way older than Lotro. It came out in Korea a while ago. It is also made by the GuildWars creators who were some of the first people to use dyes.
@Charms002 there is pink as well and all other colors, but they aren't shown in the video because it's event dye

@MyGuruLife you can remodel your items, so if you get a nice set you want to look like, you can remodel your gear to look like it, then as you upgrade gear just use the old piece to remodel the new one

The Dye system was one of a hell good feature in GW, i'm glad they put it in Aion !
I'm pretty sure the majority of people will chose black dye. In GW, the black dyes were very expensive due to the fact that people wanted them so much. The same thing will, in my opinion, happens in Aion. Not everyone will be black, that's for sure.

Yes. Like $1200 (if I recal correctly) per dye. Very cheap.
Those of you trying a NA(not sure about EU) server will not see all the colors listed. There is only 4 currently. I'm sure they will add more with updates.

for Hair ,eyes ,skin and every early character setup IS 1-255 colors . I notice in thevideo not normal colors , so dont think that for dyes they offer less options.. that at the start of the game.
You get Dyes later in game.. so cant say for sure which way it is.. but i bet they included that option also for dyes.

at wows PEAK there was 15 million subscribers (not players, people with 5 accounts count as 5 subscribers) this was when wotlk came out and now i believe its down to around 9 million maybe... last i checked aion has around 4 million subscribers and that was a couple of months i believe that this is going to be the biggest contender to the champion of mmo and we'll see that next year

Well, part of the reason why WoW's population hiccuped like that was the China WoW fiasco. Losing access to WoW, a lot of people had moved to Aion. I'm expecting another huge chunk to follow when the NA/EU release happens as well.

see there might not be alot of theres a feature where u can remodel your armor after one that u like, say the lvl 50 gladiator set doesnt look good to you, go to the guy i guess, tell him to remodel this to a set u like and bam, got the best stats and your favorite set, this also makes ppl to not determine your level by your appearence, this is also happening to weapons but u can make an axe remodeled to a sword, has to be the same type, this goes for armor as well, cant redo cloth into plate.

Sorry I didnt answer your question :P. You see, WOTLK did not and is not going to let you even fight the litch king. I cataclysm, your going to be able to kill him but once you do you do that doesnt mean it's done anymore. You can now go to cataclysm (Used to be GM island, the one in the whirlpool). I gotta say. I like aion. It's good. But it seems like any other NCsoft game. The game as I said is dull. But if you guys want somthing new, this is your solution. This game lacks ALOT though.

What exactly is it you agree with? I have played WoW for 3 years, this is nothing like wow, this is nothing like any of the other NCSoft games either, I played GW, Lineage 2, I played CoX and this is nothing like any of those. This is new, unique and will be a nice change.

How do you know. Im playing the open beta right now and its pretty damn fun. Low levels arent as fun but then again when is being low really that fun? NCsoft listens to thier players and will add or remove stuff that people dont like. Last night one of the servers had become extremely laggy and within 5 min i was seeing GM messages about it. Server was brought down 10 min later and 45 min later when i logged in it was lag free. NCsoft strives to polish and get rid of bugs. Blizz makes excuses.

Okay, after leveling to level 10, did you notice everything started to get old? Another thing, WoW cant do things so fast due to one thing, WORK. Right now they are working on 3 major titles. Which slows everything down. I agree, they are a LITTLE to slow. But hey, as they say, precrastination makes perfect.

I didn't mind at level 10 and at level 10 is when things just start to get different. I think the real game starts are 25 when you can go into the abyss for pvp. I get bored of wow after a few weeks then I have to take a break. Basically play what you like who cares what other people think. Problem i have with wow is its too gear dependent and pvp is really shitty now.

Aion is extremely gear dependent. I'd say a lot more than WoW. I saw a video a long time ago when 60 was cap of a naked rogue with a barman shanker killing everyone. If you tried that in this game you'd get raped, it's because their are so many modifiers and manastones on armor and weapons in this game.

Old features, but perhaps it is better done in Aion? Aion is a game with nothing new, but so was WoW. Aion looks like it is doing what WoW did, taking everything from previous games and expanding upon it.

IN an mmo its very risky to try and come up with totally new stuff and theres only so much new things you can do. the best idea is too take all the good examples form other games and ditch the rest then add new stuff as an experiment. Besides all that ncsoft is much more talented than blizzard.

Hmmm i dont see flying used in much high end content tho...
Ive seen alot end lvl stuff from CAion and ive only seen flight used to get away from a particular area etc.
NCsoft incorporated it because it would add new dimenions to BOTH travel and combat, althought atm its main and most practical use is thru travel only.

Well when your in combat and flying your physical attack is increased by 10%. Flying is usually used in the abyss to get to other locations. Gliding is also really common. Cause theres a lot of places you cant fly. But you can glide.

wings are a stratigetic item in the game. You are more vonerable flying then on the ground. some skills can only be used on the ground or in the sky. Wings ad a 3d effect to the game with no other mmo has *Wow* cough cough. ncsoft tryed to make a different game and they did.

Limited flying time as you level up. But you get flying pretty early in the game. The idea is like you, a noob, a baby first start to use flying to get to short inaccessible places. Like a balcony, or a hilltop. As you get stronger, older, your stamina increases. Your wings grow, and you become a better flyer. A veteran of sorts. Flying is not just a travel form in Aion like it is in WoW. It's a core part of the game.

The armor dying is only a big deal if you're from that really popular game that doesn't let you dye your armor. If you've played daoc, warhammer, LOTRO, or any of a dozen others, armor dying is old hat.

I'm really dissapointed in how linear the game is. It feels like you are on rails the entire time you are playing. And there is only one area in the game you can actually fly in. The rest of the game just has you sort of gliding when you try to fly. Not trying to bash the game, but those are the facts. It's not the "mmo-messiah" that so many of you seem to think it is going to be.

Sorry, but these are not facts. Have you actually played until level 50? For your comments I bet you played only the version 1.0 beta until 20 or so...
The fact is: the game is linear in the "tutorial levels". When you reach 20 you have 2 big areas to explore, and at level 25 you have 3 (abyss).
You can fly freely in 2 areas in the 10-20 region, and also the Abyss.
There are also mass-combat/sieges in the Abyss (lvl40 recommended).
Don't base your opinions on early levels. Also, we'll play 1.5.

Nobody has even played midgame, nevertheless endgame Phluff. The fact you can fly so early is there so that it becomes a part of your core gameplay. Flying is a part of daily life in Aion. It's not a mount, or a travel form. The idea of flying is not to skip content to reach point A -> B quicker. It is a part of the content and meant to enhance it. As the game progresses, so does your flying capability and skill.

That is true, and in PvP flying makes a huge difference, but gliding is actually used to get from point A to point B faster. this is because it really has no other advantage and is much faster then actually walking. The problem is you can't always glide haha.

gliding still used flight time etc. so NCSoft has put gliding in there for other reasons than just combat... It is a way of getting around quicker, otherwise there would be no need for its use ingame

NCSoft arent blind tho. Theres obvoiusly a reason for the flying to be incorporated earlier on, and from what you've said above it is to become infused in gameplay.. Travelling etc. is part of this "core gameplay" you're speaking about tho... And yes ur right, the real advantages of flying will be seen in later lvls during endgame content (or atleast thats how i interp your comment)... So why else would NCSoft put flying in public alpha and beta testing stages when the lvl cap is so low.

Many and more games overpassed WOW long ago only retarded fanboys not seeing it. Cabal have dynamical fighting while WOW is like soap opera, PW have lot better exploring and nice chars while WOW have fat ugly creatures with massacred faces and no comments about Tauren (child of human who fu**ed cow)

Everyone I've ever heard from that played the Beta writes RAVE reviews about this, one of the biggest things being the customization, flying, and in-depth, captivating story.
Is it possible these 'people' you heard from quit WoW because it's a stale-overrated MMORPG from 2004?
WoW is fine as a game, but it has gained the level of apotheosis just because Warcraft fans and casual gamers (yes, casual, they usually play Guitar Hero, Halo, etc. as well) gave it the popularity. It's just 'okay.'

Dye:ing armor was introduced in DaoC, so it was probably stolen from that game in the beginning =P. But who cares, if there is a good feature in a game. Why shouldn't you use it again?

Actually this game is way older than Lotro. It came out in Korea a while ago. It is also made by the GuildWars creators who were some of the first people to use dyes.
