Same with me. I do a version of this and keep it simple, as it was intended to be.

If you actually listen to older versions of the songs it's meant to sound hot and sweaty and dirty, not all pretty and polished.

First of all I cannot stand the Leona Lewis, Christina Aguilera type voice, especially when it comes to soulful songs like this. It makes it conceited.

She would have a nice voice if she put it to better use.

i feel like you have a lot of power, but you break your voice too much. i was fond in the beginning. and then all the sudden, you make it a beyonce/christina aguilera-type cover. i'm not with it. it's a jazzy song meant to be sang with passion and some power. it's not supposed to be a pop hit on the radio.
