I always wondered whatever happened to these beautiful works of art,,,,I would love to own a little piece of this history...Does anyone know anyone in Canada that would have one for sale. Thanks so much.
i love these windows, they are charming and beautiful,i would love to put these together, iam a window dresser myself and theres nothing better than to see hardwork and imagination still going and not coming from a document that says this store looks exactly like the one in another district ,are you intalling this years windows yet,
This video is wonderful. My daughter and I restore vintage mechanical window dislapys for a doctor friend who has collected them for years. She has about 100 which I have restored about 35 of so far. These range from most of a magnificent Nutcracker Suite group, which are about 3 ft tall to all kinds of forest creatures and dancing Santas. We have many varieties of Santas too, all animated. Her husband restores the mostly German motors so they mostly work. Thanks for posting. I hope 2 C more.
TACKY......! if you want to see a magical mechanical display... watch the British A Chrismtas Carol with the Toy shoppe window scene with Tiny Tim... makes this look like disney crap
i just purchased an animated store display that is from the old movie the littlest snowman. it has a young boy bending over to kiss a little snowman that has a candy heart. have you ever seen one of these? it appears to be from the 50s and is very large. thanks
I love this video! My mom passed away last year and I can remember when I was a kid she went to an auction where they were selling all of the store christmas window displays, she bought several, and I still have 3, the kissing boy and girl, and two other figures, one about 3' tall and looks older, the other about the same size but is dressed more like a little boy. They all work , but are in rough shape.
Do you know anyone who would want them? Or if they are worth anything?
@absolute2102 i would love to purchase them from you.. my mom bought some when i was little but lost them in a fire years ago ..i would love to have them for christmas for her birthday shes going to be 84 yrs old it would bring back so much memories for her please get back to me
LOVE IT>> Could someone tell me the name of the first song and who it is by. I have never heard it before. Post it for me and I would appreciate it. Great!!!
This was like a nice journey back in time...when you could wish someone a "Merry CHRISTMAS" without fear of being yelled at for being politically incorrect.
This video is 6 and a half wonderful minutes of revisiting a carefree childhood.
i would so love to dress all these big windows , the animated figures are lovely , i would be so tempted to change them all around and give them different settings ,from a very creative visual merchaniser in the u k , you are the people that keep my dream alive that one day i can do this
Love the music. We usually do Christmas in July by playing christmas movies all day and make our decorations for the coming season. This is a good break from the hum-drum of everyday stress. Thanks for you wonderful displays.
these are great, where did you get these items? I just started to collect the mechanical displays made by michael hamburger of centerstage productions in New York, or jersey, and lou nasti of mechanical displays, would love to know where you purchase. Its beautiful. thanks for the ideas.

Thanks for the comment. We try to really stick with the old style displays. The displays are tremendously well received in our area. The bank, who hires us to present the windows, is in a historical shopping district, so it's a perfect tie-in. Keith
These window displays are very nice and I can only imagine the hard work and time that went into this presentation. I wish a business in my town would do something like this.
The display project is one of our favorites. Fortunately, we have a client who sees the value and appreciates the nostalgia that the windows present. The community response is tremendous each year. People are already asking about this year's window concepts. Thanks for your comment.

Actually, the bustling of people and cars in the reflection adds to the character of the video.
This is absolutely fantastic and superbly done. I wish I would have discovered this video sooner than today.

Who is this singing these songs on the soundtrack? I love classic christmas music, and would love to add this to my collection.

I love your window displays. Takes me back to how the department stores decorated back in the 1960's. Beautiful job!!!
