  • Thanks a lot Veena that's will help me a lot, I started already to have a clear idea the theme of my daughter bd cake and I need also more knowledge I don't want it to turn to disaster Lol and run to buy one from grocery store the same day, wish I know that the cake was sitting there for weeks :D

  • as i said wonderful and amazing!!! i'm scared to start do one for my 3 years old daughter Bday, but watching that video is like a boost for me to just start it and let it go, such great job,

my question please as i saw the same, where can i found that mat for cutting out the white and gave look like dentelle please, that's looks fantastic, the best video for princess cake ever seen :)

  • @10101jasmine - You can find the mat at cake decorating stores. I rolled the fondant on a mat made by Wilton called roll and cut. the White lace in front of the dress is a lace cutter from FMN. If you cannot find the lace cutter; you can make lace instead. I have another Doll cake tutorial on my blog if you want more ideas.

  • Wonderful thanks for sharing :)

  • hi where can i buy this mat for cutting out the white things under the lila dress?

  • am where can we a fondant?can we eat also the fondant or its only a decoration?

  • May be a dumb question but what are you using to glue/stick things with? Amazing by the way, you make it look easy! Gonna give this a test run before making it for my little girls birthday!

  • @lilmissmackem - Not a dumb question at all. I just use water, sugar stick to sugar like glue. It's a fairly easy cake once you have the right shape. All the best.

  • Wonderful Cake! How did you add the detail to the ribbon and bow around her waist?

  • @Fa1th15604 , Thanks, I used a textured rolling pin. You could emboss your fondant with almost anything, like a clean unused table liner, your flower cutters or special textured rolling pin and mats. i that helps.

  • Wonderfull !!! Thank U sO Much !!

Grazie in anticipo! alessandra

  • @jappybhardwaj1 One is white buttercream - you can buy it reamdymade as well as make it. I have the meringue buttercream recipe on my blog if you want. The other white & purple is fondant or sugar paste. You can make that at home or buy readymade as well. The tool is a plastic lace set. You can substitute with frills too. if you don't have cutters for frills just use your largest and smallest cookie cutters as well. All these can be found at cake decorating stores. Hope this helps. Good luck..

  • What a lovely cake! :) Beautiful job. and I bet the little girl was so happy to get it

  • very pretty

  • thank you so much veena for replying. sorry to be a pest but i am going to attempt making this cake can i ask a couple of questions. Firstly when kneading the fondant i can see you have a mat type under but as I have a problem finding wilton items in uk can you tell me what else can i put underneath is foil or clingfilm possible. Also once the cake is made does the fondant dry up? do i need to refrigerate the cake?

i would be soo grateful for a reply as i am new at this.

  • @mizzgee84 Hi, Sorry for the delay. The mat is a wilton mat but its not an absolute necessary. You can roll fondant on your kitchen top like you would any other dough. I use my pouch which work best. You do not need to keep fondant cakes in the fridge. Just make sure you use a non perishable filling. If you do keep the fondant in the fridge it will have condensation - do nothing it will dry out automatically. But do not put gumpaste flowers in the fridge it become goowey. Hope I helped

  • wow beautiful, can i ask that stamp tool u used for the flowers what its called

  • @mizzgee84

Thanks for the compliments. You can use any small flowers. These are the set that come from Wilton. They also have a very pretty mini blossoms that you use. On my website I have more videos for MEMBERS only - Membership is FREE - Check it out Veena's Art of Cakes
