Good Iraq recreation: as a vet that's been there- You did a phenomenal job recreating the look and feel of the environment, from the mosque noise to the stupid banners they have everywhere. I plan on doing something similar to this as part of my thesis, or at least a side project.

Yes, I found some real reference photos to work from rather then just using my impression of what Iraq must be like ;) Btw, nice work with the motion tracked tank animation. I think once the tank gets some photo referenced textures on it it will look quite realistic!

@1abcrr1 Well the P90 uses the 5.7x28mm so unless you are talking about a longer cartridge thus more room for the gunpowder and more firepower but to do that yes a simple well i guess you would call it a mag well re size and a redesigned mag with some minor tweaks to the internals

@1abcrr1 lol i've thought of that...I play airsoft, and got the idea from this hilarious little "box magazine" adapter for the P90 that allows the user to use STANAG mags on the P90, albeit mounted to the side of the weapon. Now, in airsoft that makes sense given they fire 6mm spheres of plastic across all guns, but in real life, imagine fitting on of those on a P90 and slapping on a smaller bore barrel (of course reworking the feed system to accept it)...lmao.

It's the vid is pretty impressive and i know the p90 is versitile, just I think it would be better if the vid was of the merc kicking ass with the P90.

@tiffyj85 Yeah for me if the merc was kicking arse it would be a little too tryhard/hollywood and cliche. I prefer gritty realistic stuff that doesn't always have a happy ending. Kinda like cloverfield (btw, this video was done along time before cloverfield).

The short answer is that games have to render very fast, preferably around 40-60 high res frames every second. The vid you just watched did 1 frame in perhaps around 15 minutes and that was not as high res as you ask a game to render for you. A game relies on having as little geometry as possible and as much fake lighting as possible to achieve such fast rendering speeds. As computing power gets higher and clever people come up with efficient ways to fake things, it will look better and better

@dnwr2002 Because computers have to draw every pixel of a picture while it's working in realtime. This is pre-rendered and saved to be uploaded to Youtube. Computers actually work very fast in comparison to the time it takes for a person to do it by hand.

@ShrubOfDeath caseless probably wont be coming for a few years, or atleast until they figure out how to get rid of the head created from the propellant. the brass being ejected usually takes a good deal of the heat with it, with caseless, no case, no loss of heat. caseless would make covert ops a lot easier too.

@snowsk81 Anyone who knows anything about a P90 knows the shells are ejected downward. That's one of the defining features of the gun. The animation shows the shells popping in from the left to show action while we're left staring at the wall, unable to see what's going on. It's plausible, depending on how the shooter is positioned (which we can't see), but more importantly it adds to the experience of being in a firefight. I think it's a smart effect.
