Sorry I missed your post , didn't mean to be rude. My pontoons are ethafoam with an internal aluminum framework, partly flat bottom, partly V shaped. Work fairly well. The chute just gets wet, no big deal, they say they open just as fast as long as the air tunnel is open....
How much do they weigh? I am in the process of building some new ones. Glued 1" foam board wrapped in glass. Kind of built like hollow surf boards. No Idea how heavy they will be yet. The foam is already 6lb each without the glass.
I tow without one unless tandem, then we strap a container to the down tube hung below the apex. balistic at the king post seems to be the safest and probably your only good option for a commercial operation. We have towed over 4000' agl and done some pretty good XC from the boat.

How are your pontoons constructed? We use custom built PVC pneumatic but they are a bit grabby. I like the idea of flat ski like bottoms.
