  • We trust U

  • yes software for my dazzle

  • So... where can I download this... nope, vlmc. org don't download.

  • This looks really promising GOOD LUCK with the undertaking u r off to a great start!

  • This is why Final Cut Studio has died and become Final Cut Pro X. There are just so many open-source options coming up. hehe

  • Hey thankx for the demo

    I liked this software

    And also the backgroud music

Which song is being played in the background?

  • @MrAaditya66 Its God is an Astronaut - Forever Lost

  • I know this a big request so i won't be surprised if this effect does not happen. I was wondering if you guys were considering adding a effect that is like this video "Hare Hare Yukai v2.0 "

  • This looks fucking awesome!!!!

  • South Park FTW ^_^

  • When can you download this? It's amazing!

  • See kids? There's absolutely no use having two screens on a video editor!

Seriously, i've never found that useful!

  • @Riboshom you're joking right? well, each one with the workflow that suits him

  • Cool. Zitc du jeu Machinarium il me semble.

  • hi I'm very interested by your freeware so what's new about the deloppement ?

  • there are some effect like movie maker or vegas ?

  • Hmmmm... It looks good. I`m going to try it.

Some features that will make me use VLMC (written after watching, but not trying):

    - Ability to configure an output format

    - Full-fledged support of urgent video formats (DV-AVI, M2TS, MPEG, MJPEG-AVI etc.)

    - Ability to read DV info (timecode, date/time etc.)

    - Ability to swap fields, deinterlace etc.

  • Looks so much like Adobe Premiere Elements. This is not a bad thing.

I wonder if this piece of software will be able to handle .mkv files. VLC is reknowned to play basically anything so fingers crossed

  • Request:

Multiple aspect ratios, for 4:3 old TV size, and recently (and becoming more popular) 16:9 Widescreen videos.

  • it's been over a month since the last comments saying it's coming in a month. where is it?

  • The program looks awesome --- but why has its development been allowed to stall? It's now March and as of yet nothing seems to be happening, even the given website is now dead ---- why?

  • wondering the same thing here

  • They're moving the VLMC website to the VLC site. They said it takes some time. Development hasn't been stalled - they are releasing a public version later this month.

  • @Ispyamoose Okay - thanx for the update.

  • This program looks awesome, even when it's still in development. Will VLMC support for AVCHD?

  • will we be able to capture video ?

    looks awesome

  • Fantastic! Can't wait

  • May I haves demo?

  • looks a bit like Jahshaka!

  • Cool les mecs ^^

On attend la develloper release avec impatience ^^

    Ps: bix, bosse ! ^^

  • I wonder what they used to make this video?

  • Gtk-recordmydesktop prolly

  • I can't wait to use it! Seems amazing.

    Great work!!

  • actually it seems very simple, and thats what linux NEEDS! =) a simple video editor that works. i hope it doesnt disappoint!

  • @nickleus1977

If it is only half as good as VLC, it will be one of the best video editors ever.

  • currently I use kdenlive and openshot to edit my videos. I just got openshot and Its looking quite promising.

That said this also looks like a great tool and it appears to be the fastest of any video editors out at the moment. It doesn't quite have openshot's stylish UI but that isn't the most important thing in the world. If its stable and fast I'll definitely be considering it when you release an official version

  • The biggest problem with Adobe Premiere Pro is lack of immediate support for a ton of popular file formats.

The strongest thing about VLC Player is its excellent support for every format I've ever encountered.

Put the two together, and you may have a winner.

  • oooh what was the music used as the soundtrack on this - I absoutely loved it how it kept building and building slowly!

great video and an exciting project I'll be watching :D

  • the sound track is : forever lost - god is an astronaut :)

  • almost like vegas

  • I think im gonna edit some videos soon :D

  • When this runs on Mac I will come up with a tutorial using original material. I think it's problematic that you are using South Park clips to demo this. You might want to contact Nina Paley and ask her for permission to use her CC-licensed movie "Sita Sings The Blues" instead for the official tutorial. Very cool movie and again, CC-licensed.

  • Awesome, so awesome...VLC's underpinnings are totally solid and worthy. We have needed a truly open video editor that is easy enough to transition people out of proprietary solutions like iMovie and Windows Movie Maker but powerful enough for indie production. Power to the content creators! Right on!

  • good work!

  • congratulations, very good job, I am going to compile and test it!! I'll will be waiting for the effects you will make, I really want to help programming, but I don't have time for now... :(

  • awesome ! :)

    vivement février

  • Will there effects (crossfade, etc) be implemented soon?

  • Cool :)

  • bravo les français.

    Yassir du Maroc

  • What is the music that plays in the video ??? Boy, it's an incredible music. Very good!!!

  • Comment removed

  • et c'est français !!!!!! bon boulot les gars !

  • Song: God Is An Astronaut- Forever Lost

  • You guys are French? I see a lot of great French programmers and software engineers for some reason. Great job!

  • What's this audio?!?!? It's awesome!

  • it's a song from band : God is an Astronaut!! (GIAA)

  • so this is beyond fucking fantastic.

what a chrismas present for everyone using linux.

  • @Bohemenian

    and using windows :P

  • Wooooooow!!!!!!!!

    Awesome!!!! Can't wait it!

I am sure you'll do very cool editor!

In my dreams it will be like Sony Vegas..... :)

  • this had better support mkv

  • this great, now everyone can be a content creator.

    thanks vlc.

does it have a converter and can it edit .flv?

  • The real-time editing looks sweet, but besides that, the video spends a lot of time showing features that every other video editor has(import, trimming, moving tracks around). I'll definitely check it out when it's released, though.

  • That looks exceptionally nice :)

  • Bravo les gars beau boulot, un outil très prometteur que j'ai hâte d'essayer, je prêche pour ma paroisse mais un dépôt PPA pour ubuntu serait une bonne idée ;)

    Bon courage pour la suite.

  • Thank you for this :) Was waiting for a such tool.

  • Awesome! Can't wait! My comments:

    1. Make sure audio levels can be adjusted smoothly.

    2. You can only choose the render settings before creating the project? What if I want to export it in different formats? It might be nice to have those options at render time.

  • Can't wait for the release! Started recently to play with video editing on Linux and all the available tools are a pain, hopefully VLMC will make the work pleasant.

  • Behold gawd like powers

  • damn, looks good guys

  • Impressionant!

En tout cas bon courage, ç'est une très bonne nouvelle qu'un BON et ACCESSIBLE logiciel de montage vidéo fasse enfin son apparition sous Linx

  • Quite impressive!

By the way, anyone know wich song do they use in this video please?

  • Forever Lost by God Is An Astronaut.

  • Thanks!

  • I'd also like to know

  • Some features I would like: Curves colour correction similar to GIMP. Levels colour correction similar to GIMP. Fade to and from black similar to Kdenlive. Sound fade in and out similar to Kdenlive. Fade to next scene similar to Windows Movie Maker. Project saved as XML file similar to Kdenlive. Things to avoid: Too many output options like Kdenlive. Too many dependencies like Kdenlive and OpenShot. Different versions for each Linux OS like Kdenlive and OpenShot.
  • amazing!

  • I expected you guys to do well. I didn't expect it to be this amazing.

  • Looking forward to this. I don't edit videos a lot but it's nice to have a good one around(especially if it runs on linux).

  • Lacks key features? Seriously?

Right now it is better than most Linux video editing tools.

That's a great present for holidays guys! Thank you

    cheers from OmgUbuntu ;).

  • Охренительная крутотень.

  • Wow, looks great so far! :)

  • Sniff, beautiful

  • Wow, this looks great so far! Maybe Linux will finally see new life with all these new video editors (pitivi, openshot, etc.)

  • Whoa this is sure to be good for Linux and the other OS's too!, ni doubt it will have some very cool effect as like vlc itself!

Glad to hear about development :-)
