Very precise and very emotional. What a moving performance. However... in some sections, there could be a little more rhythmical precision (like the 16th-dotted 8th G-Eflat), and that would make it sound even more musical. :)
I think it sounds so beautiful the only problem i have with this song is that she goes way too slow in SOME of the parts. She kind of need to speed up a little in the 16th notes everywhere but so far it sounds so beautiful.
That is the beautiful thing about solo pieces, you can take as many liberties as you want. I've heard this played by several different people and it's so incredible that it can be played one way and then played in a completely different manner by someone else. This rendition is absolutely beautiful but, that's just my opinion. :)
I like her style a lot more than Starker and Ma in the beginning, but I really truly believe that Starker does a much better job during the double-stop section of the piece... its divine
bit too slow for my taste, but has personality..i know that it says 100 for each beat, I think that is too fast, but this is on the slow side..its difficult to find a balanced tempo, I am on it too
Glorious playing! Why did it take me so long to discover Kodaly and Alisa Weilerstein?

How can she play with such long nails? Look at 03:20 and forward.

I had the pleasure of hearing Alisa live in San Antonio last year. She played a trio concert with her parents. Truely nice people.
Congrats Alisa! I LOVE ur playing!

sloppy and unmusical. I don't understand why she continues to be so popular... there are so many better young cellists out there

I think this was a great performance of this extremely difficult piece. Alisa is one of my favorite young, Modern cellists.

I just watched janos starker and yo yo ma play the same piece and i truly believe she puts more emotion and feeling into it than they do. Well done!

I have a feeling mr Randie here might have had a rejection from ms Weilerstein?
It certainly sounds like it. Since there is not one moment that is out of tune, or less than stunning.
