I have to say, after buying every album and most of his EP's, listening to his older live performances like Brixton and seeing NIN live in 99.. I'm kinda glad he's supposedly stopping his tour run. I love his new stuff, but it does have a more mature aura that's mutated past his beginning material, and to be honest, I just don't think he has the anger and energy he once did. For songs off of the Fragile and before, his live performances just aren't doing it for me.. *shrugs* still amazing..

Just for the few commentors who may not know:

1. The stage is small because this is the final NIN tour, the "Wave Goodbye" tour. It took place in small venues, like the Echoplex in LA.

2. Trent has stated he is done touring - for now. NIN is not over, but he has How To Destroy Angels, scores and other projects. Give the man a break. He toured from 07 - 10.

3. Somewhat Damaged is almost entirely guitar, synth and drums. Any bass is synth.

4. No one dedicated person handled keys/synth. Justin

While Trent may have personally been somewhat parallel to your statement for a good chunk of his career, and his music followed suit, art is art for art's sake and it is up to the individual to determine if they like it or not. someone wrote about trent´s voice and how he cannot hit high notes anymore. He can, I've heard some of the last bootlegs. But take into consideration he, in the past, rarely SING but yelled. His voice has worn out. He didn´t used to have a low pitch voice as now he does. His present voice tone It is because of years of touring and yelling. I like how he adapted the new songs tho. And also how he uses this low pitch singing to really get some creepy yells sometimes.

Be glad Trent doesn't tour anymore. If you listen to NIN over the years you will find that the music is in direct relaition to Trents own "downward spiral" if you will. Check out the 94 woodstock show and you will see what NIN was all about. Fuck everything was his message. Trent is clean now and in a better place with his life why should he have to go drag himself through the most painful years of his life everynight just to entertain people?

@boioioinG123 - When you've been doing as many shows/albums as he has done, then figuring in his age, it's only natural that his voice would shift quite a bit - this version sounds really close to album version vocally though (unlike some other songs) - and the actual song overall is much better live in this recording. I've seen them 3 times and they've never played this - which is disappointing b/c The Fragile has to be my favorite album right behind TDS.
