@jmganjaman, typically these user-made mods aren't as optimized as newer games, so they end up being resource hogs. There are Doom mods which will slow down modern computers.

@biosnark to me this version looks more like a F.E.A.R. rendering, considering the blood spattering and the lighting. but if you get the chance, do play the original Quake 2. they've ported it to Xbox 360, that how i relive the memories. sure its not the prettiest, but it still scares the hell out of me.

Tho, i am dying to try out this mod though :) always been a huge fan of the Quake series (i think Quake 1 and 2 had a much better atmosphere then the 4th one, and dont even get me on Quake 3, WTF was that about).

Success! I replace the link. The new alt dl link also has the base q2 resources so I went ahead and tested Berserker and it works.

Good luck and have fun, sir, and remember that there are high def texture and model packs available for quake 2 to go along with the new gfx effects with Berserker or any other quake 2 engine 'port'.

i have a "problem" the light, for example at a entrance/door is too high/glowing at that lvl that i cannot see "through" it . is there a command to disable that lighting glow?

i got this problem too, you just need to install it right.. make sure you really have the right path for q2 when installing
