Fail. The end portal got contaminated by the mineshaft and the mineshaft goes into the portal and replaced the portal blocks.

just to help anyone wh is gavin trouble, while ur in the stronghold, the eye of ender can still be used to locate the portal itself

What if you brought some obsidian and a flint and steel and tried making a nether portal in the "Enderworld"? (world of the End if you will)

Would that bring you into the nether and then somehow get you back into the real world?

BTW, the easiest way to find a stronghold in 1.8 was to build a Nether portal in the Nether. You end up in a stronghold. Weird.
